The autostart just takes too dang long for this A/C. Can some one point me to the file to edit and remove all of the pauses between switch positions and remove imaginary actions that do nothing???
-
Found a switch near the canopy seam on the left side for external lights master switch, this has been effective at solving the problem, but I would say the binding specific to the refueling light is a bug.

I am trying to refuel at night with NVGs and the refueling light is BLINDING. I tried the keybinding for toggling it on/off with no success. Is there another workaround?

Militariy Aircraft Mod
virulosity replied to BlackLibrary's topic in Flyable/Drivable Mods for DCS World
Do you have any recommendations for getting the V-22 to land on a small runway? It doesn't like Tunb :) -
2.5.6 will not load with sound mods
virulosity replied to 104th_Maverick's topic in Utility/Program Mods for DCS World
This worked :) Thanks. I can't seem to find the directory that the F5 uses for in cockpit engine sounds though? Also can't figure out how to replace the cannon sound for the harrier. It sounds like "Plane Cannon" but it's a different file. -

Is there an extractor for the edc files yet? How can one modify the sdef files currently if I don't know the file structure... I want to change the sound levels for the F5 and no mods yet exist. -
F18 starts auto stop or auto start during missions

Go into your controls binding and clear any controls from activating it and see if that fixes it. If so, you have some controls commanding it that you don't understand -
Same issue with patchy glimmering clouds with rain turned on. Rain with low light looks unusable now.

I think the ILS "window" is just quite narrow. I was unable to pick it up without adding good waypoints leading up to the entry (M2000C)

Why not just use UH-60 and a navy livery for now ;)

What A/C are you fighting? Bigger jets let them get behind you, draw them into scissors and force an over shoot. Smaller jets you need to be aggressive on the merge, don't let them outrun you on the first turn and try to keep your speed around 350-400kts and keep the fight flat if you can. When the AI pulls vertical, don't chase it. Come up a bit then turn parallel to the horizon. Lag turns with less elevation and you will keep your speed up and meet them on the down turn.

Figured it out! I tried clicking on the C/F button on the virtual throttle in the cockpit and that worked. When I press the C/F button on my physical hotas I could see the virtual C/F button move, but barely move. The pulse command from TARGET software was not long enough to trigger the event. Changed it from pulse to hold and that worked!

I set chaff and flare to single on the knobs, press the chaff/flare button and nothing happens. Is there another arm switch I am missing?

So after flying this plane a week, I can kill an AI F-14 now. Pretty cool! I would say this is a great module for people learning BFM, wish I would have bought this before the newer planes.

F5E entered service 1972, F-15C 1979, f-16C 1984, M2000C 1984 But, point taken

I recently installed a livery for the F5 with normals and speculars (rework tiger stripe). The description.lua specified the correct name of the textures to use, and flagged them "false". However, the model in game just looks flat, like no texture was applied. I added some roughmets from another livery and commented the description to use them. Now it looks great! After the may 8th update, now the look changed again, the roughmets looks like the default texture. It's as if DCS isn't using the information in the description.lua to pick all of the textures in the livery. Is there anything else that needs to be managed? Is there any cache that needs to be cleared?

Yay! This worked like it should. Thank you

The first attached image is of the cockpit with instrument lighting knob turned all the way up in 2.5.5. The second image is the knob turned to half brightness in 2.5.6 (flood lights are off). I think 2.5.5 is "correct", the gauges should be backlit, not flood lit, however they can't be turned bright enough. This is with no mods, default livery. Thank you

I have the same issue but in reverse. My RWR won't turn on. Is there more to it than the toggle switch at the left of the countermeasures console?
-
Awesome work!!! Love it! Everyone needs to pitch in a buck so you can buy the module half off and continue working ;)
-
Got it, thank you. It would be great if we could select the ammo we want to use in the next update :)

I noticed flying the Harrier in 2.5.5 when I strafe ground targets there was a really cool ricochet effect where the bullets would fly up off the ground randomly near the impact point. I have started flying in 2.5.6 and this effect is now gone. Is there a way to bring it back? It was a really cool feature, added a lot of realism.

I have this identical behavior, happened 1 in 10 times with 2.5.5, but 50% of the time with 2.5.6. I can hear the menu music which leads me to beleive perhaps its a "focus" issue and not a crash. The game is running, it's just underneath the splash screen and you can't see it? I have no antivirus, windows 10 with latest updates installed. I fresh installed open beta two weeks ago.

GPU performance test in DCS2.5.6 for the forum
virulosity replied to Cy-27's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
I think a track file is needed then you can replay on everyone's machine. I have a Core I3-8350K and Rx Vega 64 overclocked to 1.6GHz, getting around 65fps on river run. -
