Sure you could, but it would be far easier to get the correct video shot if you flew the plane yourself - which I would assume he did in the video.
-
Yeah, silly me forgot FC3...
-
I just watched the new video (http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=100357) and noticed the aircraft shadow on the ground at 9:30 minutes. Could be one of the FC3 planes, though, as well...

Make sure you are trying to lock on a live target and not a wreck. And you might want to post a replay.

Black Shark 2 + Track IR 5, how well they work?
Toxe replied to annoluce's topic in DCS: Ka-50 Black Shark
I use TrackIR 4 hardware and version 5 drivers and it's working perfect, with no impact on frame rate at all. IMHO one of the best pieces of hardware one can buy for sims. -
You should save a track and post it here.

I don't know what it is called (something like countries.lua?) but there is a file somewhere that defines the ranks and medals for each country. I think ranks are awarded solely on flight time. IIRC 120 hours was Lt. Colonel and 240 was Colonel. And I think medals are awarded on accumulated score. Most countries seem to have five medals, and I think you can get some special ones when you complete certain campaigns.

Why?
-
I am not at my Windows PC right now but from the top of my head the logbook.lua file is in: C:\Users\<YourUserName>\Saved Games\DCS\MissionEditor

I think it's nice that people come up with new game ideas and trying something different instead of developing yet another Crap of Duty shooter.

I wish people would leave out the videos where you can clearly see people being injured, maimed or killed.

T.Hotas Warthog VS X52 pro what to buy
Toxe replied to cyprus's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
Thank goodness it doesn't. IMO. -
Still only approx 30 FPS after graphics upgrade.

Take a look here and the linked benchmark thread. Most important part in DCS is the CPU. -
T.Hotas Warthog VS X52 pro what to buy
Toxe replied to cyprus's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
Search for videos from SimHQ on Youtube. IIRC there is one where you can hear the sound of the switches and buttons quite well. I had an X-52 Pro before my TM Warthog and there is no going back. I'd say the only plus of the X-52 over the Warthog (next to the lower price) is that the X-52 has lower stick friction. But unless you want to do high precision aerobatics and formation flying this isn't really an issue. -
People believe they see a lot of things flying out of area 51. ;)

SU-25T from DCS World Download vs FC3 Module
Toxe replied to 's topic in Lock On: Flaming Cliffs 1 & 2
I don't own FC3 yet, but I think it's a typo. As the Su-25T is already included in DCS: World I suppose it is not included in FC3. -
Are you flying supersonic?

The problem here is communication. There is nothing wrong with releasing a beta, but if you look at the postings since release it might be a good idea now for ED to tell its customers what features are final and what is still subject to change and what parts they haven't even touched yet. Maybe some of the things that people are flipping out over will be changed in the future. If ED could give us more info I suppose there would be a lot less anger and confusion in this part of the forum. But the last couple of month ED has been pretty quiet and although I can in general understand why there are moments when some clarifications probably can't hurt.

Civilian plane / helicopter / water plane for fun flights
Toxe replied to CHSubZero's topic in DCS Wishlist
I'd say if DCS-flying stays mission-based, like it is at the moment, then there is not much need for civilian or cargo planes. But that could change drastically if we had a dynamic campaign. -
I am pretty sure that I will buy it eventually, but probably not in the next couple of days / weeks. I am more interrested in the Russian birds but FC3 does not seem to bring that much improvement in this area and we already got the Su-25T in DCS:World.

IMO when someone posts pictures from another site or photographer then he should post an additional link to show where he got those pictures from. To give credit to the site or person who made the pictures. And to make it possible for other forum readers to visit the source of the pictures because they might be interrested in some back story or origin or want to see more. But simply posting pictures from other photographers without giving credit to them feels a bit rude. Because it looks as if the poster made the pictures and is taking credit for them. Give credit where credit is due. Other than that I don't care, post as many photos here as you want, that's what this thread is for anyways.

Oh, Moment...

Update was smooth and without problems for me. Oh and the updated Su-25T cockpit looks great, didn't expect any improvements in this area. What a nice surprise. :)

Here is an ingame video of the new FC3 planes. Notice the improved graphics and flight model. :pilotfly: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7lEOqRniy1A
