  1. With the low aspect ratio wing there should be a significant cushion starting at height equal to 1/2 wingspan - with additional nose down effect (Nose down maybe catch by FBW?). With low AoA and too high landing speed, IMO the M2000 should be a floater eating up runway before touch down. Of course I can be wrong. Any real pilot or Design Team to confirm this?
  2. Did not know that you are able edit. Please tell us. Turning on off via keyboard in addition will have the same effect as my suggestion. It is on the wishlist. Added feature. Some want full ID labels. OK- not intended to replace this. Keep it as is. Most of us agree that it distracts from realism and immersion. But some need it, not for full ID, but for spotting purpose (dogfight). My suggestion is just spotting. The label is small as possible. Full text replaced with a single *. And can be turned on/off. Intended: Lost target in dogfight? Hit a key, and you see a * - you know where target is. Turn the * off again. The immersion is kept as high as possible.
  3. I did that on on A10. Made my own modifiers, and made a looong list of assigned buttons. (My medium stick/throttle have not too much buttons) It did not work. Back to square one. I started slow with trim. Then nav with new assigns. Next radar HUD with assigns, maybe modify old trim and nav to less important keys. I continued this procedure. Slow and patient. Not afraid to reassign previous buttons. This work best for me .:)
  4. My turn to return advice. :smartass: As a beginner you may save some hours in air combat setup by doing: Assign buttons to: 1. AA gun selet 2. Magic select 3.Special modes aft 4. Special modes fwd. 5. Special modes deselect. Do not ask what they do. Go up in the air and play with them a few minutes Check HUD, radar and left selector panel for indications in each case.
  5. Watching a great tutorial by a gentleman. His eyes is getting bad. Only on good days he could fly without labels He was not sure if he wanted to make more tutorial, because maybe he must add labels. He did not complain, but no doubt he want to dogfight as in old days. Point is: Some use labels for detection only, not complete ID data. Bad eyes. Unable to detect moving pixels. due to bad monitor. Sometimes me too want relax from eye straining, looking for aircraft from above. Solution: Replace text with a simple * in larger fonts. Turn on off with keyboard. Lost sight? Turn on the * for a quick detection, then turn it off again. IMO - A great compromise between playability and realism.
  6. No doubt flying style is a part of the problem. There is a reason why most aircraft have higher wing aspect ratio. Weight/thrust is not top notch either. Do not expect sustained high G turns. Anyway: I love the challenge and the learning curve in a different design!

    Release weapon?

Great stuff CrashO. Appreciate your effort. I am used to Sidewinder. This takes different procedure. Edit: Got it - shot down 3 bandit - 1 Magic missed. Will add centertank. Parked with 20 kg fuel left!

    Release weapon?

Tnx. Simple as that. Now it launches. No hits. (Except gun) Back to manual. Imagined the right scale showed max distance, but it goes to smaller scale when at mark. Will check the manual for ideal distance. Have to figure out Magic tracking too. No break X while flying around target. Does not track, but at least it launches. Progress!

    Release weapon?

Unfortunately the air2air training mission goes silence when the interesting part starts. - Watched youtube tutorials. - but seems miss some prep procedures. Setup bombers at high altitude (contrails) in my own mission. Starting cold/dark. Problem - no rocket/missile fires. Gun fires. Able to drop the load. Target acquired (Enter). Box in HUD turns solid. Keep the box in HUD center. Selecting Mag or 530 on left panel. Flying in to target from approx 40 miles - the scale on right drop all the way down. Pulling trigger frantically all the way down to staring into exhaust pipe. Nothing happens (both Magic and 530). Missed something in prep? Armament control r/h switches reads "P" and "MIS". Suggestions? :helpsmilie:
  10. Good. Appreciate that. Good things will happen in the future. Now I just have fun alone in sky. Practice turn & burn, landings. Watch it in F3 flyby. Started practice lock on bomber targets, and assign HOTAS buttons to radar. Next schedule is to make spare parts of them. Maybe I will discover design weakness in more serious dogfights?
  11. This will save you some time.
  12. Thrust: If you check thrust vs weight, you can probably calculate the correct theoretical value vs sim value in vertical climb. (no alpha drag). Compare speed drop/time in both cases. Compensate a qualified guess on general drag. If you pay for an aircraft , it must be correct as much as possible. A2A delivers 100% in their Accusim range. That is why you see only general aviation aircraft in their store. They test them, fly them with sensors installed for max data collection. They have no intention for supersonic aircraft. It takes years to study the aerodynamics, and the business will go bankrupt. (Ref director) It must 100% or nothing. That is why I accept less than perfect aircraft in DCS. It is impossible get it perfect for $60.- Checking the manual - there is a critical range under 100 knots. I find it impossible to fly under 106. Who cares? Not me. Much better to put time and resources to tweak normal operation range. A pilot told me that a full movement Multi million dollar Boeing simulator is very close to real flying, but still it is not the same as real flying. IMO M2000 is a great plane as is.

GREAT!!!! EXACTLY WHAT I WAS LOOKING FOR!!!! :worthy:

I like to correct myself. It is not during stall. When the bird shakes, it drops nose down, and recover. But there is a very small window that I am able to create this situation. Burn some fuel, and the aircraft is light enough to push out. Edit: Great vid! thanks! Hard to tell - if the airspeed was high enough - say 130 - the sim is not far away I guess. Anyway. I found this situation by pure accident. Take some work to get into it. A very minor issue for me. Enough power to to turn and burn. A qualified guess: Very close to F-16!

OK. Tried again. Max AoA. Speed 106. Sinkrate -200. Full AB. Stick neutral. I will check calibrations.

There is no autothrottle - unless the FBW should kick nose down at critical high AoA, you can go outside envelope. At least I did a couple of times during test. Idle. then keep nose up. I was able to keep this attitude all the time. Sink rate increased. Full AB did not help. Still high AoA and falling with no airspeed increase.. Only when I pushed stick forward I was able to increase airspeed. I could have missed something in cockpit prep. Was very inpatient to get airborne. :D. BTW. I miss procedures (Operational Manual). Chuck files does not exist. Flying is easy. Push the pin forward and the houses getting bigger. Pull the pin back and the houses getting smaller. Holding the pin back longer, and houses will grow bigger again. :joystick:

After a week with both work and pleasure in 2.5 Normandy. Love both Mustang and the Dora. I wanted to treat myself with a new aircraft in the bug free 1.5 environment and a plug and play aircraft that work 100% out of the box. My benchmark is the A10C - but it takes days to refresh if you been away for a while. I want something less demanding. Especially the HUD needs to be more readable than A10C. I own F-86 Sabre, but never really got to be a friend of this bird. Do not why. I was looking for a sweet spot between A10C and F-86. Air to Air and hit things on the ground. A French bird was not on the top of list, but finally the choice was between F-5 and M2000. The clear HUD made me draw the credit card for the M2000. Love at first free flight. Despite French, systems are intuitive. For me the learning curve is very satisfactory. Fly - Read the manual- Watch tutorials. Fly again. Start up and landings. One slight frustration was the idle detent. Engine did not start. Fly By wire - no flaps. No trim needed. Still does not feel arcadish. Only nasty surprise is the deep stall. Even full AB does not get you out of it. Pitch down and hope you have enough altitude. Even without a single HOTAS button yet programmed, I am able to fly and use basic systems. Now the fun starts with radar and HUD details. Time to dig in a few chapters and watch youtube tutorials. :book: then :pilotfly: Thanks for aircraft! No doubt my new DCS favorite now.

    Manual -pdf?

Thanks - looking in wrong mod/aircraft folder. Need a copy to my tablet - will search for it.

    Manual -pdf?

Trying to hit the sweet spot between A10C (takes days of refresher to get back into it) and the F-86. I ended up with Mirage (flip coin between F-5). Wanted a clean clear HUD. Fall in love at first free flight test! Now I need the pdf manual. Search did not help. Expected to find it in the aircraft module M2000 - but no manual. DCS downloads only DCS aircraft manuals. Yes I know I am blind.... :D
  20. Maybe not hard - but more active. There is a significant difference between 1.5 and 2. More alert and proactive in 1.5. Could be 2 is the correct one. It is closer Accusim (A2A) T-6 in P3D Have now double checked that flight assistant box is ticked off. Could not find any rudder assist under Cheat menu. Maybe I missed something
  21. Is it only me that like 1.5 better? Stable. Much shorter loading time. Better aircraft physics. In 1.5 you have to work rudder hard during TO (FW190 - P51). In Nevada and Normandy no rudder input needed. (Have checked that help is disabled). Please keep the 1.5 alive. In addition to 2.0 :joystick:
  22. My review was not about alpha and bugs. About limited potensial vs could have been max potensial. -And colors. Just chimed in after an instant dogfight in 1.5. A huge difference in color palette and variation. Horizon is much better in 1.5 I do not mind alpha. Flying DCS since pre A10C beta on 32bit. A ton of bugs! :)
  23. Looking behind the bugs (that no doubt that will be sorted out) Watching the hyped trailers, guess we all are very disappointed. In the future this may be fixed as the asset pack grows. Today it is not plug and play to get what is promised in trailers. After a week flying, I am getting bored. A peaceful landscape with Allied airfields thrown in. Not happy with the colors either. Now it is limited to a backdrop for dogfights, and ground attack Falais pocket and Caen. (With no air opposition if historical correct). It takes some work in Mission Editor to make this. Future campaigns are very limited, probably just Falais area a couple of weeks. What are the ships used for? No doubt best use as is now is intercepting high altitude B-17 inbound to Germany. A lot of great missions can be created with this theme. Now it is a missed opportunity. Without dirt airfields it could be used as a scenery for Warsaw Pact breakthrough in the `80. For most interesting WWII scenarios, the landscape should look like a battlefield with craters and ruins. Broken bridges could easily have been implemented. With this start point, lot of missions ranging from late 43 to D-Day itself, and a month beyond would have been plausible. And still have B-17 missions intact. I will give N44 a rest for while, going back World 1.5. More stable and interesting. Of course I will fly in Normandy again! Looking forward to patches and missions. But still a missed opportunity. :imho:
  24. Like to report that it still works fine. Have not touched settings after last delete folder procedure. Even heavy multiplayer runs fine. The low memory warning in multiplayer can be clicked off, and keep flying with no problem. (Admit that start screen takes some time to recover after this message)
  25. Have tried just the metafolder. Did not help. I have feeling that every tick in the box, and sliders moved are saved. All junk are load up again, even during flight. Have deleted folder several times, remembering settings for each time (minimum adjustment). Now stutter free and runs fine. (Medium and low setting due to old low spec PC). Hope it will stay that way! Time for more dogfights! :pilotfly:
