How long does speedbrake take to travel from CLOSED to fully OPEN? Then divide by 3.

If you have WORD you can put your complete brief into it and then save it as a .pdf file. Some people can either print off the parts they need or pop it onto their tablet/ipad if they are fortunate enough to own one. I think for scoring in MP you are going to have to do it via Lua. Its quite a laborious task though checking on the status for each and every Objective unit. Once mission is complete you can then display the results at the end or save the results to a file and post it up on the forum.

OK I've uploaded ver 1.2. The main changes are as follows;- 1) Updated brief with Notes on communicating with other aircraft 2) Taken out as many Unit Activations as possible as this was causing stutters (a problem with beta I think) 3) Optimised comms so that they flow better 4) Tweaked target 2 area, A little to hard previously 5) Added Messages denoting success/failure 6) Added Aircraft comms for Ejecting/Diverting I think I am almost there with this mission, sorry for delay in making it Multiplayer but with the ME bugs I didnt see the point in releasing one until the single player was working nicely. Crashes will just frustrate the hell out of everyone.

Wow...Runway Lighting after cleared for take-off!
Druid_ replied to ravenone's topic in DCS: A-10C Warthog
Lights should be on the whole time if they are modelling RL. Unless of course ED have gone green. -
Could not agree more. Searching the forums is like playing Russian Roulette with a drunken .... [stops before he offends someone].

VERSION 1.1 Uploaded, fixes freeze. Ok yep, there is a very small freeze on my system at around waypoint 6 also, I think it could be the spawning of some helicopters. I will look into it. Yep, that far behind enemy lines with SAMs and enemy aircraft about, it is advisable to stay LOWWwww. Good decision. Although I have provided Sat pics etc it doesn't mean that it encompases everything. I didn't want a 'how to complete' the mission type brief. There are a few surprises and you have to make some airmanship decisions along the way (e.g. Recce point). I have tweaked the tgt2 area slightly as maybe it was a little too tough. The valley area is a little wider there and it pays to do a recce run and break off prior to your engagement run or alternatively send your wingie down there to take a look and cover him? Lots of options.

Glad you enjoyed it. Planning is half the battle. Hope you found it realistic. Modification for multiplayer version is already under way, there are things in the single player mission that you have to remove for mp otherwise it crashes. I have been testing this mission in 2 player coop for some time so I have a version that works, I am just in the process of tweaking it now.

You could put tasking in a 3 minute loop which will continue until someone in the flight responds (i.e.RADIO ITEM ADD) to the tasking e.g 'Callsign COPY THAT, WILL ASSIST' or something. With regard to multiplayer crashes, I have found that quite often the JTAC/FAC is the problem which is why I removed him from Op Talisker. Also activating too many units on a trigger causes momentary Lag. I also had an issue with an AI F-15e dropping guided munitions crashing the game for some reason, so he went out of the mission too.

Op Talisker single player and multiplayer (up to 6) for A10c Final Release. I've included all you will need (e.g. Mission Data Card, route map, IP-TGT maps, SAtellite pics). Mission file also includes aircraft and wingman comms (created using sony Soundforge). Op Talisker has 2 versions, SP is single player & MP6 is multiplayer for up to 6 clients (includes AAR and FACs). Can easily run with 2 to 6 Clients though as tasking is slightly different. My main goals were:- fun to fly, realistic and immersive. Any constructive criticism or comments appreciated. Haven't tried it, but can you move your new flightplan to the top (i.e above the mission generated flightplan) ? Also in answer to your question, it could be 1) as IRL (strange if it is) 2) A Bug

Out of interest, because of a development issue or because the modelled a10c does not display hostile aircraft on the SADL? Shame, I would have liked enemy aircraft on the SADL for increased SA especially as the AI aircraft are too damn good. e.g. Flying 100ft agl in valley, can't hear AWACS due to terrain masking, damn SU27s found me no problem at all. God knows how as a lot of high terrain between me and them.
-
Why not either just change the waypoints in the existing flightplan or delete the original flight plan? When you create waypoints they are numbered and are unique, if they had the same number/name they wouldn't be and you wouldnt be able to add them to a new flight plan. If you want to declutter the TAD then place markpoints at the points of interest and select MARK.

I should hope not otherwise it could be quite painful and a Dr is required.

I just need to know when to run away bravely when the enemy CAP comes looking for me. At the moment they can find me in valleys when I'm not even line of sight. They must have a radar that can see through mountains !
-
Ok thanks, can't see it on the beta5 list either so stil WIP I guess.
-
I have a mission with an AWACS in it and several friendly aircraft (7 in total). All Blue friendly units show up on the SADL. However, NO enemy aircraft even though they are identified by the AWACS are showing up, anyone else having this problem? Whilst on topic manual also states Hostile Air Defence Forces should show on SADL, anyone getting these also?

Yep get the wind at varying altitudes off your EGI. Obviously you have to fly your aircraft at the altitudes you require.
-
Entering m/s in a U.S. made a10 surely NOT !! Can someone at ED confirm, I've been entering wind speed in knots (i.e. 5m/s = 10 knots). Also I believe this procedure is used for high/med altitude bombing as the HUD PBIL & bombing reticule SHOULD already compensate for actual wind being experienced by the aircraft at its current altitude. i.e. The Projected Bomb Impact Line follows the flight path of the aircraft. I doubt many are dropping MK82LOs from 2000m/7000ft, more like 4000ft or less (depending on dive angle). After bomb release, theoretically if the bomb maintains the same speed as the aircraft and the wind from release point to ground level is reasonably constant, it should impact on the PBIL. The exception is when you are using retarded/high drag weapons as they will be affected more by the wind as they decelerate. A caveat to the above. If mission designers are putting considerably different wind direction & speeds for ground level and 2000m then I can see why this procedure would help, you will however have to extrapolate the winds. A word of caution here though ..... With the 3 winds in the DCS ME set at 0 , 2000m and 8000m, are amsl. I ran a test and they do not run linearly between the set altitudes. e.g ME SeaLvl=090/5, 2000m=180/20, 8000m=270/80 (speed is m/sec) I recorded the following off the EGI (speed in knots. i.e. m/sec x2 = kts) 60 ft = 084/7 1000 = 084/10 3500 = 156/19 7000 = 180/40 15000 = 202/35 23500 = 265/78 26000 = 265/78

Top tip, got mine to work by pressing all the buttons, moving stick and shouting at it. Windows calibration raw data still doesn't show it as centred though, should it?
-
Tried 4 different USB ports. Windows recognises the Joystick each time but the TM .exe refuses to budge after pressing space bar. oh well, I'll send TM an email and see if they can help.
-
Until I read this thread I didnt realise how far out my Stick was, using windows calibration and RAW data I got x 30374 y 33816 Way out !! Just figured it was asymetric loading on the a10. Anyway thanks very much for the calibration tools. You'd think TM would have them available for download on their website wouldnt you! EDIT: The throttle calib tools works fine but the Joystick hangs on 'Then press "space"' i.e. I press space and nothing happens. Also your link says ver1.11 but the .exe is ver 1.10 is that why? or do I need a win7 64 bit version?

83 degrees is hot but no hotter than I have seen some overclockers get to at 5Ghz. A good cooler is a definate must however for anyone who is going to overclock their CPU. Memory is ok up to 1.65v Not familiar with your BIOS or settings for Sandy bridge but as you say maybe your CPU die can only reach 4.2.
-
Did you increase the cpu core voltage to 1.35V and your memory to 1.6V ? Also what cooler have you got sitting on top of it? Memory can sometimes be the bottleneck when you overclock so run memtest first to make sure you memory is happy at the set speed. hardly ! very few get their i7 9XXs to over 4.0ghz and certainly not without some serious cooling involved. Also ghz is no indicator of processor power any more when comparing different processor architectures.
