Nice one! Appreciated.

I just use the Warthog paddle to centre my TrackIr. I can understand the problem though if you want to use modifiers.

TM Warthog Throttle Axis Death
Druid_ replied to Flamin_Squirrel's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
Is the old firmware available? If it is will it let you flash an older version? If answer to either is no then sounds like you are in the hands of TM Support I'm afraid. Good luck. -
AFAIK there is no way at the moment to get a Heli to land anywhere other than on a FARP or airfield. There is no way to make a FARP invisible. The best i have been able to do is to get a Heli to hover over a waypoint. The easiest way to do this is to set a number of waypoints with decreasing altitude and speed approaching the area of intended hover to casevac. This is trial and error as the Heli must be able to descend and decelerate to meet the alt/speed set at the waypoint, if he cant then he will throw in a turn or two which looks horrible. The last 2 waypoints should be at the minumum altitude possible in ME, close together and with a speed of 1. You can then despawn the casevac team in the rotor wash thrown up when the Heli is directly overhead. p.s. Of course having done all this, no-one will see it and appreciate the work you've done apart from yourself. (they're too busy flying around at 300kts+). Still worth the trouble though imo.

Question re. "Switched Condition" logic
Druid_ replied to Bahger's topic in User Created Missions General
In reality, the A10s would use their radios to confirm objective/tasking complete (to AWACS or FAC or Ground based Ops). The same could be said about further tasking. Building a CAP into your mission is fine, we don't have to stick with reality. If its playable, challenging and in the end fun then stick with it. My only concern would be the transiting back and forth to a single point to get further tasking might become a little tedious after a while. Personally, I prefer the Radio solution as its more dynamic and involving. -
Question re. "Switched Condition" logic
Druid_ replied to Bahger's topic in User Created Missions General
Looks like you need to set another flag (say 11) when the given task is completed. When a new task is given set 11 to false. Your switched condition would then be Unit [Player] in Zone AND flag 11 true btw: Not sure that A10s hold CAPs IRL, CAPs are more for interceptors/Air superiority fighters. -
TM Warthog Throttle Axis Death
Druid_ replied to Flamin_Squirrel's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
I had the DMS button on mine die, I took it apart and noticed a single wire connection had broken. I resoldered it and it works fine now. You may have a similar problem. If you don't want to take it apart then you'll have to return it. Given how fine the wires are and how tightly packed everything is in the WHog sticks I'm surprised this doesn't happen more often. -
You can set one of your Warthog spare buttons to centre your TrackIR in the TIR software. In HotKeys select centre then click on Key and when you get 'Enter desired hotkey' press the desired button on your TM Warthog.

No mention of MP datalink fixes in 1.1.0.7 changelog?
Druid_ replied to Bahger's topic in DCS: A-10C Warthog
Bravo !! -
Nice one speed. As I'm so rubbish at searching for this info and MP is still being patched I shall wait until the finished version of your lua guide. You have a nice way of explaining the functions to an old and rusty programmer too. Cheers.

Nice one, will check this out later. Just for your info, IRL Civil Airfields use VHF AM freq's Military and Air to Air use UHF AM The army i.e. FACs use VHF FM Guard on VHF AM is 121.5 Guard on UHF AM is 243.0 Doesn't matter too much at the end of the day as long as its in the brief but it would be nice (and easier for me, selfish I know) if mission designers stuck to a template and the easiest one is obviously .. reality. Especially like the work you've done with chatIOlibv1. I wonder if future patches will be more MP friendly with regard to triggers? p.s. Where's that list of lua functions you were going to post Speed?

[How To] Export ALL Indicators like MFCD via ViewPorts
Druid_ replied to icemaker's topic in Multi-Display Bugs
^^ +1 -
Some airfields are like this IRL due to the topography, 1 way in and 1 way out. If memory serves me right I think Nalchik is one. ATC needs improving to help with this imho. Wish I had a low enough ping to jump on the 74th's server, sounds good.

In order to reduce the Radio Items clutter, the F15 assist radio items are only added once you enter into low level. You will only need them if they decide not to engage for some reason or they head in yr direction when you ingresssing at low-level to tgt1. The aircraft ground movement AI should be fixed in next patch, thankfully! It all depends when you start taxying out. If C17 is landing hold position for now.

CONFIRMED: Next aircraft will be a fixed wing US FIGHTER!
Druid_ replied to kingneptune117's topic in Chit-Chat
It might be a foreign air force nickname. In the UK, ground attack aircraft were called 'mud movers'. So MUD & HEN (instead of eagle) fits the bill (hehe) nicely. -
Finally got some time to finish off the Multiplayer version of Op Talisker and test it. See original post for files. Let me know how you get on.

Hawg Touch profiles & setups.

Is there some way that vehicles can be identified as seperate to the surrounding terrain in the post processing IR effect? I know it can be done in other graphics engines, surely there is some way of doing so in the DCS engine.
-
No probs, great job so far! Sorry, no I meant the 3 toggle buttons and the OFF button that you setup for switching the various xml tab configs on/off I have an ATI 5970 with 2x Dell 24 inch 1920x1200 displays. I am running in eyefinity group which makes any connected software think I have a 3840x1200 display. If anyone has an eyefinity card then don't just extend your other monitors, setup a group like in this saphire (jump to 2:20). I have also setup 2 sets of Hotkeys in the profile manager that allows me to switch between 2 1920x1200 to one 3840x1200. At the moment however, I am unable to run HAwgTouch in the foreground, so have to run DCS in windowed mode.
-
Do you mean the HawgTouch MFDs or the actual MFD displays? I have used fullscreen on my 5970 and exported the MFCD Displays to my second monitor. I cannot however get HT to display the bezels when in fullscreen, I currently have to run in wondowed mode. ClearDark. Great job on 1.2, only found 1 slight problem and that is when I close some of the windows (e.g. 3 of the 4 UFPs) and then reselect it on the UFC Scale Test button. I get a MS .Net Framework Unhandled exception By the way where are the graphics for the Test Switches? I would like to modify the .xml file so that MFD, UFP & Test Panel are seperate.
-
Yep I use an equalizer and pass it through twice for an ATC effect. I'm using Soundforge though but filters are probably similar. I also use a resonant filter that adds a fairly realistic O2 mask type effect for the fast jet pilots. Maybe there is a .vst resonant filter plug-in for Audacity? Another option which I have used is to cut and paste the existing in game .ogg files to create my own sentences. Now if we could access the existing .ogg files through a lua function that would help keep the .miz file a little smaller. Still waiting on ED to publish a list of lua functions & parameters we can use though.
-
ClearDark, I have a problem and no doubt I am missing something obvious. I am running DCS in full screen mode on an ATI card in eyefinity on 2 screens. The MFDs screens export ok from my monitor.lua file but the HawgTouch bezels and UFC are in the background, the only way I can see them is to ALT-TAB which minimises DCS. Basically, how do I force HT to run ontop of DCS ? Many thanks for the effort you are putting into this
