  1. Does that mean 7 of 9 is a member? Assimilate me pleeeaasseeee!
  2. DCS Blackshark - 5,000 dollors of equipment to make a full size "just like real life" simulator. E-Warbirds Preditor - 2 monitors, pedals, a desk and an x52 pro and you have a "just like real life" simulator - you even get hot coffee and bathroom breaks - just like the real pilots.
  3. BaD CrC posted a list of panels and annunciator information a while ago. http://www.netantix.co.uk/plans.rar You will need inkscape to view them. Your looking for "alert panel labels" These are bloody brilliant work, i have used quite a few of them.
  4. Seriously ED - give us an update, have you noticed the mood change in this thread? - if an update does not come soon - i fear there may be a lynching.

  7. So, if we read between all the "Im more technical than you" crap. This is how i understand it. So, in short - if you have XP then no, and if you have Vista or windows 7, then yes to a certain extent, but not a good as a game made for dual cores. Right?
  8. you are a god! Honestly - a god. :P
  9. ROFL - just ROFL.
  10. i rememeber these - green was forward, red was back and yellow was joy fire 2. but you could customise if you wanted. I made these myself using an old joypad and lego! Then i could play Formula 1 Grand Prix by Geoff Crammond and Lotus esprit turbo challenge. he he those where the days. Ahh yes, the games where unwinnable, the peripherals where cheap and cheerful and if you had a monitor - you where too cheap to buy a decient telly. Was this the joystick you where talking about?
  11. coolts - you have just becoame my fecking hero. That was without a doubt the most down to earth and funnesy post i have read for bloody ages. Firstly you described my early life - i cut my teeth in on fa/18 interceptor and had 2 of the Astrowars games. (minus the power supplys of course) And lets not forget the 3D alien attack game you held up to your face. Remember that? It had rubber eyepieces t so you wouldnt gouge your eyes out if like me you tried to similtaniously play the game and walk through the house. The quickshot joysticks where awesome in their cheapness, i miss joystiks that click when you change direction and had "rapid fire" buttons. How wonderful it was to own a joystick you had to lick before you could use it. And in the heat of battle it would come unstuck from the desk with a loud "PUC PUC PUC PUC" Just to be slammed back down on its suckers. my fave ever joystick I am a botcher and a blagger at heart and whilst having a joint account am unable to buy ...... well ..... anything i really want. As for wife disturbers - i have the creakyest set of home made pedels known to man, when all hell breaks loose and im trying to dodge stingers SETI can hear them. Im just down the road from you too - love somerset.
  12. mine is sort of inbetween both of these, I have all buttons and switches but i have changed the layouts and the way that data is presented, this makes the BS a lot more manageable.
  13. Thank you ever so much walker.....much appreaciated.
  14. I will somtimes use the same technique as landing on ships, come abeam to the pad and then sideslip onto the pad.
  15. Thank you for that! I love seeing my bird killing stuff!
  16. Thank you Viper for the explaination! rep +1
  17. Lets face it, this is not propaganda, if we must go down thr story telling route its in fact the story of the invasion of the united states by the westorn world. This isnt some fantacy built to make us look at the environment in a different way. Its an excellent story written to show what us humans are capable of when we want something. Remember dances with wolves? The last samari? even a man called horse! All the same story from different perspectives. I dont think that was propaganda!
  18. yes mine does this - it takes about 30 - 40 seconds to sort itself out. Usually when looking around the CP its fine but the second i look up and outside the computer has a small fit. after the time above though - all is smooth and dandy inside and out. I dont know if its normal though, it could be we are both broke :D oddly - our computer specs couldnt be any more different. mine: intel core 2 duo E4700 2 gb ram generic acer mobo nvidia 9800gt
  19. To be honest - most of the good barring the panels and the seats where all a little under par. The switch covers for example are all well and good, but they do have a rather unfinished look to them. How much more would it cost to run a piece of sand paper over them. Frankly they look crap. The flat ones (non locking) are just as bad. The casting process needs to be looked at before i start throwing money at them. The asking price for the toggle cap is in fact 2/3 of the price of the original switch. "and you do not have the hassle of pulling out on the switch while changing the position" Isnt that the point? If im not looking for realism - why not just use regular toggles for $5 each?
  20. Very simple answer - give everyone a small suicide pill clearly marked "DO NOT TAKE THIS PILL" Within hours the world will be a better place.
  21. Hello as part of my business i work with helicopter and aviation companies and will often travel with aviation companies doing fuelling and night landings in rural areas around the south west of england, i am very lucky in that i have recieved training and can assist with setting up tactical landing sites etc. When we set up an area to use as a site we will insist that the CAT A profile is used as it allows the pilot a constant reference. You are correct through that it is only used at some sites and can in fact put a lot of wear on an aircrafts engines as almost full power is required at takeoff. All pilots as wer know prefer to build speed in forward flight into a head wind. I mearly pointed out the profile to make out new flyer feel better about his take off. :)
  22. So this evening i finally finished the pit! Or at least this version of it. :D New panel on the right and the two new panels between the main screen. My cyclic is weight balanced so itstays where i put it - thats why it looks a little off balance. My new unnunciator panel, illumatates as i go through the startup sequence. Images shows the innunciator panel. This panel also has the counter measures functions included. The panel for instraments and the datalink panel are to the left. The almost finished pit, its generic in nature but still has every function of the blackshark. I just need to sort out back lighting for the other panels and we are all done! A big thanks goes to my wife - who not only puts up with my hobby, but even paid for over a hundred toggles and buttons and bought me 2 of leos boards for my christmas. Guys if you EVER need advice then take this - Buy your wife her own computer - and then World of Warcraft - sometimes i dont see her for days!
  23. hello there, for switches that have 3 or more functions i simply use a push button and press it several times. You could however just use a 3 position 3 pole switch with a different function for each pole.
  24. Just a quick one - but in page 12 here is a helipad profile takeoff. http://216.19.207.5/Rotorcraft/Models/MD900Tech/900%20Tech%20Cat%20A%20Ops.pdf
