  1. You might not have been banned... But you should really direct all of questions to that sight.... I've heard of this situation happening before, where it appeared like someone was banned and actually they weren't... ~S~ Blaze
  2. Very cool... I had mine for three years and replaced the pots once as well.. I just recently modded the stick and throttle, and believe me if you think its awsome now you should (if you can afford it try the the mods), it adds another dimension to the Cougar. But this is just the way I feel about it personally, I'm sure that we'll most likely hear some contary opionion's after this (LOL)... right Rugg (hehe)... ~S~ Blaze
  3. Well I was speaking to Oleg last week regarding the above, and honestly Its very expensive living there and he actually lives away from the very trendy part of the city. Now as far as how much he spends on rent I'm not going to reveal that here as its actually none of our business. I honestly think that if Ed wanted us to see there financial statement they would publish the figures on the Forum for everyone to see... Now the thing about where I got my information from really isn't important Guy (LOL) lets not turn this forum into an IL2... (RMOFL) ~S~ Blaze
  4. You haven't actually tried IJ'S NXT, This mod is extremly accurate and very smooth, and a great improvement over his first mod. I think if anyone is thinking about modding a Cougar they should look into all the options available. After all it is a pretty big investment, this is like the second or third largest investment when purchaseing simulator gear. (1) Gameing PC (2) Monitor (3) controls... Lets not be so opionated here, after all it's personal choice. As far as the heat on the Flight Line is concerned, I spent quite a lot of time there at MCAS Cherry Point NC, and this was without a doubt one of the Hottest Places I've been in my entire life, in more ways then one (LOL).... I was also at USAF Base Goldsbourgh NC. This was nice, 2 men to an airconditioned room with lots of space, where as the Marines had squad bays with a lot of men crammed in and certainly no air (LOL).. But the southern part of the East Coast is brutal in the summer with the high humidity... ~S~ Blaze
  5. Try it now.. I just opened for me ????
  6. I'm not sure if you're aware of this but Moscow is the most expensive city in the world to live in right now, and thats according to a NY Times survey... So don't kid yourself the deveolpers have to be makeing a living otherwise they would not still be here ... Oh and by the way NYC is the 10th on the list... ~S~ Blaze
  7. To go OT.... just what scenery addon's do you think are the best in MS2004
  8. OK if you have never been succesful in landing you might want to try useing a little help to get you familar with the prceadure without crashing. Use autopilot to take you in. It will actually take you to the edge of the runway and a little less then a meter short of landing it will disengage. Then it's just a matter of bringing it down till your allmost touching the tarmack and flair up gently and you will hear the tires screech and then you can watch your nose settle down, open your chute if your in a Russian bird and apply the brakes. One thing while your at the top of your landing, that's the best time to lower your wheels and flaps and most of all make sure that you set your THROTTLE TO ABOUT 3/4.. once you get the feel of flaring and then hitting the runway properly you can try it without the aid of the auto pilot... ~S~ Blaze
  9. OK you guessed it, you'er PC isn't powerful enought to run Lock on on your TV I was running FC on a Philips HD TV and had a lot of problems with overscan ect.. My set up is AMD 64 3200, 1 gig of ram, and I tried 3 different GPU's, Nvidia 5700 256, 6600 256, and 6800 Ultra and couldn't get it run the way its supposed to.. I finally realised that it was not going to happen and since then replaceed the Philips 32" HD TV, with a 32" LCD tv/monitor and now things are running very well.. Nice clean graphics and not to much stuttering ( Its actually only noticeable when I have too many AC and a lot of targets in the mission and I'm flying over a city) so when I have this issue I've managed to reduce it but lowering the scenes to medium.... I'm planning on an upgrade but I'm waiting for Visio to be released and then I want to see how this will affect all my flight sims
  10. In my neighbourhood you can still find a copy of Lock On on the shelf. It's still available in EB Games or Compusa and at one point you could even find a copy of F4:AF and WOV, but that was right after they were released, and have since disappeared.. As far as MS2004 there was a very nice add running on regular TV channels in '04 .. Blaze
  11. I love my cougar, but to actually Mod it out all the way is very expensive.... All of my controllers have Hall's, and they're smooth and precise... IJ's mod can be found at the Cougar web site, its not Thrustmaster but Frugals Cougar web sight, once you pull it up look for the mods and tweeks thread. This mod was created about 8 months ago by IJ and is called the NXT, this i anadvanced design on a mod that IJ designed and built a few years ago. The NXT is a more realistic set of gimbals, and provides the ability to add 2 hall's sensors to the works.. And while you're at it you can also mount a hall sesor in the throttle with a mod kit by Cubpilot.. Both these items combined will cost about $600.00 USD.. and then you should look into The Simped rudder that also has a Hall sensor... there are a few versions of this available at different price ranges .. But the top of the line has metal peddals with toe brakes which are very cool. the cost here is about $ 250.00 USD... Now these are not for every one, its a very big expenditure but I'm glad that I went in this direction. you probably would be better of with the CH gear, but as for me I personally feel that I have tremendous control here... If you get a cougar now youre still going to have to wait as the mods, and peddals are built to order... But thers nothing from stopping you from takeing a look at them befor you decide to buy... ~S~ Blaze
  12. Roman: thanks I think I remember seeing this one, but really didn't take any interest in it because I had some FPS issues at that time that I was more concerned with (LOL)... I'm going apply it, see how it works and maybe post a screen shot... Sorry Crusty I didn't mean any harm my man .... ~S~ Blaze
  13. Aspect ratio set at 4:3? No, where did you get that from (LOL)... Its actually set at 16:9 Bro, and that screen shot doesn't do the real picture justice, but you can get a good idea from it... Arisotropic - 16X Antialiasing - 8xS... (ROFLM) ijozic, the model is Samsung LN-S3251D, and was developed by Microsoft and Samsung to pair up with the X-box 360, which I was trying out in EB games when I was researching. This set really cranks when hooked up to a more powerful PC, the 4000:1 contrast ratio is outstanding here as most LCD's are 3000:1... With my TrackIR 4 I can sit allthe way back in my seat and still read the HUD and see all of the data...... ~S~ Blaze
  14. You might have it mapped wrong ???
  15. I have a Samsung 32 TFT TV/Monitor combo that is really quite awsome. I did a lot of research before I purchased it and found that this was actually the best at that time, about 1 month ago. The reality is that Samsung and 2 other companys in China are the only ones makeing screens for the whole industry and thats Sony,Toshiba, ect. This set has a 4000:1 contrast ratio with 8 Ms responce time. it's picture is actually better then your typical monitor. I really don't have any problems with the HUD of any aircraft. I'm useing the HD mod as well as Teca Teca's lime green mod and things look good from all the way back to zoomed in all the way... and the picture is large...
  16. I just got my copy last week, Its really a lot faster for reference (in case you forget something) then going to the PDF or trying to dig up your notes... I like the spiral set up, it saves the manual from getting damaged and its easy to handle... Good job ED !!!!! ~S~ Blaze
  17. Its 78 here, and it's raining again, as it has for about the last week. There's been vast power outages all across the area. But it hasn't afffected us though, we've been very lucky. Two weeks ago we went through a extream heat wave, the temps. were hitting 100 just about everyday. This is clear in my mind that we are going through global warming. The ice caps are melting and the watertable is riseing, look at what happened to New Orleans last year, and the Tsunami's that are playing havok in the Pacific. Science is actually stateing that Global Warming is happening at an alarming rate, it's progression is more rapid than was expected... Blaze
  18. It certainly sounds like you have a heat problem, how warm is the room that the computer is in, and is it close to a wall? My older system used to overheat and I finally removed and I'm now running it with out the side cover, this helped considerably... Also it could be your VID DRIVERS, have you installed new ones recently? You might try a RIP or something likethat and install fresh drivers or roll them back... Also try restoring your system to an earlyier time, If none of this works go to google and type in your issue, sometimes you can get some good results here... ~S~ Blaze
  19. I'm sorry that I mentioned this, now I'll probably have to answer for it.... Even so there have been other aspects that Ed is considering here then just the ones on your list, and these have been discussed on these forums my good man... After all nothing as of yet has been cut in stone, we haven't seen any official posting on the front page regarding the next phase (ABS) = After Black Shark (LOL).... And there was actually a discussion here about another paraelle aircraft that is now under development which might appear in BS.... We'll just have to wait for it...... What ever the case my be, it'll be worth the wait, this is without a doubt the best sim out there, and can only get better with age .... ~S~ Blaze
  20. I've had some conversations regarding new aircraft, and yes there is some interest in developing a Harrier in one of the future incarnations. But sorry Dude, its going to be a US Marine Corps version... No just kidding about the version (LOL) I mean you Britts were the designers of this AC weren't you??? I remember when I was at my old duty station MCAS Cherry Point, NC, USA, we actually had an RAF Harrier squadron stationed there as well as a US Marine Harrier Squadron... The NAVAIRS for this bird are not that hard to locate, and if ED finally does decide to make this one a flyable, and since they'er at it they just might create an RAF version as well, who knows??? (HEH) ~S~ Blaze
  21. I think that your going to have contact ED about that one.... support@lockon.ru
  22. The TR4 will allow you to zoom in as accuratley as if you have the zoom toggled to your hotas or key board, but as Rugg explained, its not really good to try to click an switches or buttons in the cockpit while in combat as you'll lose your outside vision momentarly and could get blownaway !!! If you have a HOTAS its best to set up these buttons for fighting... 6DOF is very cool and is extremley realistic but you really don't want to be looking at gauges or switches in the middle of a fur ball (LOL)... It's perfecto in start up though without a doubt (HEH).. Why don't you get one BGP???? I'll increase your immersion more than any other device available, I really couldn't do without it now ~S~ Blaze
  23. No its not... The SU-25T is an addon just like the KA-50 will be... Now why would ED want to give away a flyable that they worked extermley hard to produce. Ed does need to be paid for their work, otherwise they'll cease to exist, it makes perfectly good sence.... Blaze
