I've been waiting for these custom laser plates for a very long time ..Well they finally arrived in the mail today from Belgium ..... I really had to share this with everyone.. Although I really couldn't get a clear enough shot to really do them justice, I think that you get the idea... I'm thinking that I might have to get a camera with higher Mega Pixels, or it could be the lighting.. ~S~ Blaze

VMFA-Blaze replied to DPS's topic in Lock On: Flaming Cliffs 1 & 2
Theres one thing that I like about this site .. It appears that they have a lot of missions available for download ... There just might be some fresh ideas to check out.. I'm going to give them a shot, I might find something there ..... ~S~ Blaze -
You mean sort of like Fighter Ops???

Maybe the drivers are corruped? I think that your most likley one of the first guys to run Lock On with all of the latest tech advances..:D What drivers are you useing anyway.. You might try to uninstall the drivers use a driver cleaner and reinstall them again... I'd say do a clean install of Lock On as well, but seeing how much trouble I 've been haveing myself it might not be a good idea... ~S~ Blaze

Su-27 & Porpoise/bouncy landings
VMFA-Blaze replied to chrno120's topic in Lock On: Flaming Cliffs 1 & 2
When I was an active duty at MCAS Cherry PT. I was assigned to runway watch an occasion ... Sometimes we would have to man the arresting gear position on the runway in the wee hours of the morning, assisting the pilots in practicing carrier landing... There was the occasion where the pilot would actually miss the wave off and come in to fast missing no 4 wire, bounce and have to go to full power to recover and take back off for another go round.. This only happend an 2 occasions in the short time that I spent with that outfit, but lets just say it was very unnerving... ~S~ Blaze -
Sounds like we have a Saitek 52 problem.... :music_whistling:

Nvidia FSAA still awful compared to ATI
VMFA-Blaze replied to Andrew_McP's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
All this talk about how much better ATI is then Nvidia really starts to make me wounder just what the future of ATI will be here in Lock On.. With the release of an ATI DX10 Card have the same resolution quality of the present DX9 card? The big factor for me now is my Mobo is not SLI compatible (but is Cross Fire capable) makes me think that I might be looking to set up a little auction for my self over at e-bay... I'm going to wait until we see some product released from ATI and just how it stacks up with Lock On... After all I like my gForce 8800 and my only concern is SLI. and hey that will be later on, maybe after BS is released??? ~S~ Blaze -
Any ways making Vis Range High usable?
VMFA-Blaze replied to Squid's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
Zorlac that was very informative... Thanks for explaining this CPU work related idea in such detail... I'm actually running an intel e6600 and its really handling Lock On well.. I'm actually able to somethings now that I had only dreamed about a few years ago... A2G is very realistic for example... I can hold the piper on target with minimum effort and get some very clean kills... I'm also running everything on high and I can even see cloud reflections on water just to name 2... ~S~ Blaze -
I heard BS is going to be release next month.

I've heard a rumor that Ed is working on the F-15 radar...As far as what they are doing????? I mean its just a rumor.. But have a little faith in Eds ability to come through.. And don't give up hope, as I'm sure that the F-15 will be fixed... ~S~ Blaze -
Well I like what has been done to bring up the ground war detail... I sometimes switch to the terrain view while flying ATG just to see the targets burn.. The tank's have improved 100 per cent in comparison to the old Flanker days... So keep up the good work gentlemen.. ~S~ Blaze

2 cents to the Devs for future products
VMFA-Blaze replied to BBQ's topic in Lock On: Flaming Cliffs 1 & 2
That's some great advice given by some very skilled and talented Lock On Vet's .. And another thing that I personally find practically indispensable is the Lock On printed manual.. It really comes in handy when your flying a mission and need to look something up.. I find that I still need it sometimes myself... It's not that expensive considering the wealth of information that's included .. ~S~ Blaze -
Not to high jack this thread but this could prove to be a useful issue later on.. I had called ASUS regarding this but the Tech staff doesn't know anything about it.. But I've seen this mentioned at other tech forums and it seems that other guy's have gotten this DVD as well.. Now is there a bios revision on ASUS's site I don't know.. Its very strange to say the least... Anyway my Geforce 8800 runs exceedingly well with this board and I'm not even close to trying out the SLI feature... ~S~ Blaze
-
Frank that might not be totally true.. I'm personally running an Asus Commando with the intel P965 chipset.. this particular board has included a Nvidia nForce 680i SLI support installation DVD... So its possible that he'll be able to actually use SLI... Although running a Geforce 8800 GTX is all you need... ~S~ Blaze
-
Ahhhhh........ When its done ???? :music_whistling: But seriously I think that Frank hit the proverbial nail on the head.. They probably don't know yet... But I remember when Lock On was in development and Ed ventured to give an estimate...and then the release date came and went and the forum went ballistic, and then there were all post release threads ... :protest: So I doubt if we'll see any estimates until their damn close to the finish...I'm sure that they don't want those issues again.... ~S~ Blaze

Yes that's well said monotwix ... LOL And your right, the AI behavior has been a sore spot since the release of Lock On.. They've actually done a lot of work improving it but it really does have a long ways to go in becoming even close to being realistic ... So yes Ed is aware of the issues believe me, they've been told about it many times.. And personally I would really like to see this fixed, as well as implementing a DC..As I fly exclusively offline, and a lot of us do... So I think that we should see some improvements somewhere down the line... ~S~ Blaze

This I feel is really esential to have if you're a Lock On person... I actually lost my first copy while on a bus going to work in NYC... I found that just couldn't be without it...there's allways something that I've forgotten and have to look up.. I don't like haveing to stop and leave the game to look it up.... So I ordered another copy....That's one more problem solved... ~S~ Blaze

I really have to say very nice work... These are the best skins that I've seen in a long time... I would love to be able to do half as good as you.... ~S~ Blaze

Getting my TrackIR 4/Clip today!
VMFA-Blaze replied to BBQ's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
I have the track ir 4 pro, and I really wouldn't like to go back to flying without it.. I've had mine for about 1 year, and yes I'm still having problems with the sensitivity adjustments.. it seems to jump slightly when I move my head towards the edges of the screen... At first I thought that it might just be that my system wasn't powerful enough.. but I'm still having problems even with my new system... I'm now beginning to think that it might be that I'm not sitting close enough to the screen.. I don't know I'm constantly trying out different formulas and maybe I'll find the right one some day... :music_whistling: As far as the new tracking device I might just try this out as well.. This might just solve my problem, although I really hate wearing earphones because they hurt my ears, as I wear glasses... Huummm, but maybe with out the hat I'll be ok... but then I wont be able to hear the great sounds coming through my Infinity speakers, there's always trade-offs... And I'm really addicted to getting the latest devices for my Flight Sim hobby.. But If I can get the TIR stabilized it would solve my problem anyway and then I can just go ahead and get this new device to tryout just to see if I like it.... :megalol: ~S~ Blaze -
Ok that's not a bad idea.. But for me I honestly would like to see something with a Western Flair, like maybe an F-16 with a completley clickable cockpit or even seeing the F-15 with all of the Bugs fixed and a fully clickable cockpit .. Or even the FA-18 with more of the same... But this will not happen as an addon .. I think that Ed's run out of addon's for the Lock On series... And if we do see any of these it will most likely be with a brand new title... ~S~ Blaze

Thanks for getting back with details surrounding methods that you used to achieve the results of a very nice looking pit.... Do you have a shop bot or did you send out the parts to be laser cut.. All in all the pit looks very professionally done, and I know that you will have an outstanding pit when completed.. I really wish I could build one myself, but living in my area of the world were kind of limited in space... :smilewink: I don't know if you've seen this one yet? Genes been working on his for several years, it might give you some additional ideas... http://www.f15sim.com/ ~S~ Blaze
