Its wild this isnt fixed yet people have been reporting it since 2021. I have had mine freeze on multiple long flights. After 1+ hours or so speed trails off and zeros. Pitot heat was on just before takeoff through the flight. Several squadron members have experienced the same behavior.

The last patch fixed the behavior pressing FOV now zooms the HSD to your flight only range. -

Any updates on this? It is a bug because the operation changed after an update which it appears ED was unaware of as it wasn’t documented. Why would you want to zoom out to every Viper on the map how would that be useful to anyone you already have the HSD. Speaking to actual viper pilots the pinky zoom feature is used for maintaining formations at tactical distances such as an offset container. It should zoom to show your flight not every viper in the theater. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

We all start up around the same time so as far as the sequence I haven’t figure it out. It’s only when it’s more than one flight of player aircraft. AI have no effect. I haven’t had a mission yet that had multiple player viper flights and this didn’t happen. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

I haven't tested in single player. In multiplayer it only happens with more than 1 blue viper client. If you are alone it works as it did before. I also haven't tested with other airframes.

Posted in Discord Bug Reports. I have noticed since the previous patch when you FOV hold on the HSD page you use to get a zoomed in closest view to show your Flight per Datalink. If only a few miles apart it would be close, if further out it would zoom accordingly to show flight members only. Now holding it down it zooms out and captures all friendly client datalink contacts vs just your flight. This appears to only be affected by Client Flights/Planes. It wont zoom if only one client and tankers or AWACS etc. Prior to anyone joining it zooms in as expected and shows no one. A new Client Player joins it shows him on DL as expected. Separate flight and different TNDL numbers I take off leave the area now it zooms out to show the other blue air client despite not being part of my flight. It didn't use to do this it would zoom only to account for blue flight members. It will continue zooming out the further you get from any blue client logged in not in your flight I have tried updating all the DL Station Numbers to remove the empty slots showing 00000 as suggested but still had the same issue despite 2 flights having 2 sets of unique numbers. Anyone have success? We’ve tried with matching laser codes 1688, switching to new matching codes LST and Jtac in flight just to see if they can spot. Tried Viper and Hornet, mods and no mods, Standard and Multi Thread. No luck on any. All open beta though. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

I am lasing targets for players and no one can spot my laser, they are able to spot AI JTAC laser and fellow planes on same code. Is this feature working?

Assuming you did a CZ (Cursor Zero) after as moving the TGP around for maverick alignment will offset waypoints by the proportional amounts on the hud diamond. HSD will still show correctly, but the symbology of the SPI will be offset on all nav points.

I have noted that it only snowplowed correct if the STPT commanded was at ground level or close to it . If for example it was at 20000ft it then snowplowed the TGP into the sky. -
Just 2 wing tanks and 3x1 gives you an error unless you are CAT I after the patch. No idea if this is correct behavior or not.

For the F16 I have noticed that if Hidden on Map is checked, but Hidden on MFD is not, it wont populate on the HSD page. Both have to be unchecked which I don't believe was the case months ago. I remember the behavior being if Hidden on MFD was not check SAM threat rings would show up.

Also if I set a markpoint visually, then look around with a TGP to find additional targets that markpoint gets moved around? That seems crazy to me. What a loss of SA if nothing is stable. This seems like a monumental change that perhaps the changelog didnt really stand out enough for me. I see the entry and hyperlinked article but wow...lol its a big one. -

So in NAV mode, if I use the TGP at ALL. It moves my stpt as I slew. This is intended? Not in any bomb mode or designation mode. I am in NAV mode. -
When I slew the TGP it moves the actual STPT and leaves it at the new location at the same altitude but at the lat long of where the TGP view was centered on. It also happens with any hud cursors as well. It isn't just offsetting the view off of this and all other STPTs, it is actually moving the steerpoint.

TGP is firing the laser when holding the weapon release to drop in ccrp. It turns off after weapon release button is released. I don't remember it firing before unless you pressed 1st stage trigger or auto lase demanded it. It appears any time the weapon release is pressed it fires the laser regardless of the weapon.
