  1. @mia - it is simply not true that all of the mirage pilots fly it due to its advantage. It is not true for me and so it is not for a lot others. To be honest I am really not sure if the advantage you are talking about really does exist to that extend. We - Reapers - had a squadron match with a red pilots squadron flying FC3-russian fighters. We lost all rounds. And it was not due to an advantage or disadvantage of the aircraft - it was due to the pilot skills and due to the cooperation and training of the pilots working together. That leads down to the following: If 2 or 3 red lonewolfs on blueflag are facing 2 or 3 blue Reapers (or whatever we-fly-always-together-squadron-buddies), the lonewolfs are lost by a chance of 90 % - doesnt matter in what aircraft they are in. Thats the reason. Not the Mirage, not the russian datalink or whatever. I can only ask you to trust me: I tried FC3-aircraft and I felt to have NOT 90 % of the immersion the fully modeled cockpit is giving to me, even more since I fly in Oculus VR only now. I do not feel to have any advantage over the russian jets, too often good russian pilots killed me - they teached me that I do not have any advantage at all (or at least I am not able to make use of it). Maybe the Mirage has some advantage in some situation - the other jets have it in another situation. Also when I fly on other servers, I fly the Mirage only (or Huey). I guess one additional reason a lot pilots join blue is the fact that they are from NATO-countries and identify themselves with that side.
  2. ...develop other fully simulated aircraft ;) Edit: ...and by the way: you will never ever see me in an aircraft which is not simulated to that extend like the Mirage is. I guess a lot of other pilots thinking the same way. So you will simply lose that pilots from Blueflag when eliminating the M2k, but they will not join red when you eliminated the M2k.
  3. I get an IC failure "textures/empty" when VR (using Oculus Rift) is switched on only. Switching VR off gives an positive IC. DCS cleanup and repair done - no change. Edit: SOLVED - The IC failure was caused by a remaining mod in the users/saved games folder.
  4. Strong +1 The only fun times on BF is when a good GCI is online! That is like 80 percent of the "gameplay" on BF.
  5. That's AWESOME! Persistant only x hours? Why are you thinking about to implement this? From my opinion they should be there until destroyed.
  6. ...this never ever happened to me. The only time when I get timeouts during the establishment of connection is when the server is full or not fully up after restart. What ping do you have to the BF-server? (Maybe disable some mods ;) ).
  7. ...guard frequency is implemented already. Also the preset-channels, as long as the mission-designer set them up in the mission (as I do usually). No need for something different/else regarding SRS. Further: The reallife emergency/guard frequency in reallife isn't used for the coordination/planning stuff you had been talking about in your previous post. Use Teamspeak for pre-planning. For switching frequency also there is no need for Alt-Tab. You tune it from within your cockpit.
  8. ...I personally do NOT wanna see this. Because it leads to the situation that this "coordinator channel" developes within 1 day to the new Battle-Net/GCI-channel because people are just lazy as hell and do not feel any need to tune the correct frequency. Sorry Gentlemen, but besides all "gameplay"-ideas this is a simulation still! And one if the things really everybody should be able to manage is: use the radio of the aircraft you fly in the proper way like it is done in reallife. DCS is not meant to be a "game" for arcade-style players as of "jump-in-and-fly" and "jump-in-and-talk" kind. So - no - people shouldn't be able to talk this way. Use Teamspeak for this things, but let the simulator be what it is: an aircraft simulator (and SRS is the addon what adds the aircraft radios in the reallife like proper way to all aircraft, not more and not less)! (PS: Still more or less no crashes at all here. Maybe once in 2 weeks and I wouldn't blame that on SRS.)
  9. ...are you really sure about that? I mean there are dozens of people using it, including me, for hours and hours and hours on Blueflag without any crash. So from my point of view it seems really like more than surprising SRS causes DCS crashes. Have you reported it and send the log of SRS to Ciribob? It is the combination of TS and SRS what really makes the difference - TS=ready-room/briefing-room/chit-chat-room | SRS=inflight reallife-like radio-comms
  10. ...agree! The best way is the original intended one: Teamspeak for pre-planning+chit-chat & SRS for inflight-radio-comms+GCI. Period. Stick to that! No need for any kind of a "lobby"-something. This would only lead to confusion. PS: I am every day for several hours on Bluflag using SRS and have more or less NEVER any kind of disconnect or crash or whatever (besides occasional DCS crash, what I am pretty sure is DCS-related and not SRS; it's very seldom whatsoever).
  11. ...nothing. You misunderstood his posting. He just mention several different things he would like to see in DCS. It is his wishlist for several different additions.
  12. Oh thx, but I am afraid I will stick to blue side ;) Some reasons: - I am in love with SimpleRadioStandalone and the way it is used on blue side. For me it is like 20 % of the whole immersion of this simulation. And it is extremely useful to have a split between "chit-chat"+pre-planning=Teamspeak (you can easily mute TS when you need to focus in a certain situation, but you not lose your combat comms when doing so) on one hand and brevity combat comms with different channels (GCI, flight-intercom etc.)=SRS on the other hand. Not to mention that comms via SRS sound more like real radio transmissions than comms via TS. - I began flying Blueflag when it was like a cold-war scenario east vs. west. In my head it is still like that, even when both sides get some of the opposite sides aircraft. And I personally identify myself more with the western side but the eastern side. You will easily understand that from my personal background when you look to the left and see what city I am from ;) - I found buddies on blue side who I am really enjoying to fly with and communicate with (chit-chat included :D ). Pretty sure that on the russian side also are nice person (maybe ;) ), but it is a bit like "never change a winning team" :D CU you in the Blueflag skies ;)
  13. Can't you automate this for a self-restart of the server? I would guess it could be some quite easy code during the usual 3-hour-restart (if ("all assets" are blue) or ("all assets" are red) then load template "cleanstart").
  14. Map is 100% blue. Congrats team!
  15. ...Really, I can not imagine, that there is some difference between blue and red side regarding this things. What I can tell you: I had been engaged by red SAMs from Maykop and several KUBs and manpads deployed around in at least three different sessions yesterday
  16. @Dino: - SAMs engaged me several times today at Maykop, the SAMs from the airfield itself and from deployed KUBs. Got splashed 2 times today due to that SAMs. What I have seen: KUBs deployed and appeared below ground-level for some reason. You only see the dust coming up when they are moving. Nevertheless they did engage me. - un-equal numbers appear in favour for both sides, so that is not only an issue for red side. In my mind thats part of the BlueFlag scenario and I do not think there is any need to change anything due to this reason. - GCI: Same experience on blue side. Sometimes it helps just to change to another GCI-slot. Sometimes you see quite a lot, sometimes like nothing. I also do not know how exactly it works, if it works like intended or not, I would suggest not.
  17. Maybe it's the same issue: In night missions (without NVG) I have the impression as if I would look through some kind of a static sheer curtain or kind of an overlay. I think "transparent overlay" describes it the best. I see it only in low-light condition like night mission. I am kind of sure it's not the lenses but something rendered by the graphics engine.
  18. What is the difference between "Operation: Blue Flag" and "Operation: Case Blue"?
  19. By the way: Congratulation red team! Especially to mention: Hansdampf with a kill to death ratio of 16:2 yesterday in a scenario with lots of blue fighters in the air, what is amazing! The map is 100% red.
  20. ...any update on this? And are the Belougas still the same like Mk. 20 Rockeyes?
  21. ...and it doesn't matter that much that it is in beta still, because it is working like a release version already if you ask me. Very good quality and my favorite fixed-wing aircraft in DCS by far.
  22. ...couldn't disagree more and my experience is the opposite! Red was online with lots of pilots over the past two days and that is the result after they lost 2xKrasnodar+Gelendzik already - I think that shows that your statement and observations are simply wrong:
  23. Looks like the server died.
