  1. Now, when/if it comes out and if it is cheaper, people are going to complain because YOU PROMISED a one million dollar upgrade. And we can only imagine what goodies a ONE MILLION DOLLAR UPGRADE will include. Poor of you if that one million dollar worth of upgrades doesn't ever see the light!!!!
  2. Or HOW MUCH, if it comes in the shape of DCS:WH2
  3. Leafer, for you to know. After you install TacView you may have integrity check fails in some multiplayer servers, as it modifies a .lua file (don't remember which one) so DCS or FC exports the required data. The workaround is to deactivate TacView recording when you want to go online. There, I saved you a headache...
  4. Just a joke. Sorry Pegaso, you skipped a heartbeat!!!!
  5. I cannot find the link to pre order DCS:Hornet for $60. Please help ED!!!!
  6. And the POV hat issue :music_whistling:
  7. Would you mind to elaborate? Obrigado
  8. I wish they had a laser seeker instead of INS/GPS guidance, especially to use them against moving targets. I guess there's a good reason for them to be the way they are.
  9. How do you know how much to trim? there's no feedback from the plane while on AP right?
  10. It would be nice to know what's in the oven. There was no preliminary changelog for the last patch, one day it came out as a surprise... and nothing for the next.
  11. Yes, unless you have a very good joystick AAR is impossible. I tried many many many times to do it and I couldn't, my stick is just not precise enough. Maybe, as there is a game mode and other "cheat" options, there could be an "easy refuel" option in the menu. I wouldn't like to have it easier as standard, for the lucky guys that can and are willing to spend big bucks in sticks, then max realism is better. But for us with crap or old sticks AAR nowadays is totally not a possibility.
  12. On a CAT I ILS approach, A10C, B747, or whatever, the last phase of the approach and landing is always done visually as explained above. So yes, you need visual references to continue the approach below decission altitude and land. It may not be only a limitation of the aircraft but also the ground equipment. (An acft may be certified for CAT III approaches but the installed ILS at a given airport may be only CAT I, so CAT I app may only be done)
  13. AFAIK there's no need to hook the WM and send SPI. Just set a SPI and order him to engage as you're doing. It works quite ok here.
  14. They don't target static objects in the sim, do they? Should they? They also don't bring down helos in flight, just slightly damages them (yes, I actually spent a gew hours trying to do it)
  15. Well, the bullets shouldn't go much off target if the guns are properly aimed. What I mean is, in DCSW, une never gets shot down by an isolated AAA gun or two unless something stupid is made, like not jinking or getting too close. It seems more a nuisance than a real problem. However, if I couldn't see the tracers, the story would be different.
  16. Do the advantages of tracers really compensate the disadvantages of them? I believe that in both DCS titles I would be shot down a lot more by AAA if there were no tracers. Also, what's the need of tracers in a radar guided system (unless it is being aimed manually)?
  17. I just hope mankind still inhabit the planet Earth at the time that happens.
  18. I'm no ME specialist but what about replacing the rearming kamov for a new, armed one? is there any way to make it disappear when it lands? Then spawn a new one in the same position. Unfortunately you won't be able to keep the damage from the first helo.
  19. I know. Don't tell my wife.
  20. But it's taking foooorrreeeeeveeeeeeeerrr. Man we've waited soooo long that I've started playing "words with friends" on my iPhone against my wife. That bad the wait is...
  21. @effte: tkoff speed + 10 kias is achieved quite quickly, even in the hog, loaded and at a healthy ROC. Nice note on the gust and wind shear, definitely something to consider. i don't have the sim with me to try but my perception is that the hog rarely struggles to climb out of the runway and that i've never seen it sink after flap retraction. ROC reduced, yes off couse, but only momentarily until the clean airframe picks up some speed. It would be nice to have V1, Vr, V2, Vref, etc calculated in the ME. Somebody needs to write a nice app for that!! Hijacked post? Apologies to the OP. I think the question was answered.
  22. Gear will deploy and retract at any speed IIRC. There may be procedural speed restrictions to deploy, retract and to fly with the gear down (i don't have the.manual with me). I've noticed that on take off the A10 will fly quite well even if one retracts the flaps very early. I see no point on keeping the acft dirty for for more than a couple of seconds after take off. At what speed do you guys retract the flaps on the climb? To the OP, check the flap lever position, by the throttles. The flaps will move to the set position once below the previously mentioned ~170 kts. And when above that speed, will retract automatically but the flap lever will stay in the same position. To avoid surprises check that the flap lever is in the UP position when you're flying faster than 170kts and you want them to stay up.
  23. My question is, why so much secrecy from ED? My possible answers: 1) they are not 100% sure it will happen. 2) it's not going to be what the community is hoping for (be it eagle, viper or hornet). In that case they'll loose support (people will stop buying extra copies of what's available now and later P51, nevada, etc. to support DCS:Multirole fighter). 3) to keep the business plan secret from competitors (who? I'm sure that anybody really, commercially, interested in knowing what ED is busy with, have means to find out). 4) keep everybody expectant to keep the interest high. It's beeing way too long and some people will be delighted and others very disappointed. 5) they don't know yet. They may have a bunch of bits and pieces that eventually could make one plane or another. If nothing of this, why keeping the secret for longer?
  24. DCS JTAC unfortunately seems to differ. Open one of the easy missionss in the ME and add some CBUs to the loadout. I was tasked to use them against the armored column
  25. Just wait, DCS:Hornet is in the pipeline... maybe at the end of this year. DISCLAIMER: PURE SPECULATION, BASED ON HOPES AND WISHES.
