Wait for ED's Christmas sale

Should a GBU-12 be able to hit a moving tank?
Tucano_uy replied to Dudester22's topic in DCS: A-10C Warthog
Have you tried from a higher altitude? I think 5000' might be a bit low. Try to go 10k feet and see if the same happens. In order to help you, it's better to post a track to see what you're doing. -
So, I guess you figured out why he switches it on and off every now and then.
-
Right this one he's pointing with his left index finger. I can't watch the videos again because they give motion sickness (:cry:) but if I remember correctly he switches it on and off several times.
-
What is that switch that he plays with in the central console? I think he mentions the FUEL PUMP, he switches it on and off several times through the videos. If it is indeed the fuel pump, then I'm doing it wrong by letting it on all the time.

Come on Yo-Yo, stop looking for excuses and start coding, we don't want recoil from rockets!! :smilewink:
-
Typhoons, 4 rockets seem to come out simultaneously from one wing (and I can't see if there are other 4 from the opposite wing). Absolute no recoil observed. Symmetrical releases, flight path looks smooth.
-
The excuse I tried to find to justify this "quite-not-reasonable-at-first-thought" behavior (that wasn't present in earlier versions), is that the exhaust gas from the rocket "pushes" on the leading edge of the wing and thus generating some backwards force. EDIT: Only now I read the last posts on this thread. From videos I saw I don't remember seeing any change of aircraft axis direction when launching rockets.
-
Thanks Shahdoh, got it to work, however the logic is either buggy or weird. It might be better to somehow "wire" the smoke generators to the bomb release instead to the rockets to have a clear ON/OFF switch.

I believe you may be stalling because you're lifting the main gear from the runway too early. It may be that you're keeping the tail wheel on the ground for too long, and because of the nose up attitude you get airborne too soon at a too low airspeed. 99% of the times you'll stall immediately. I had that problem for a very long time. I would advise to let the tail wheel raise and KEEP THE MAIN GEAR on the runway until you pick enough speed (115Mph+ from the top of my head). You may even have to apply veeeery slight forward stick. Don't rush her of the ground.

Partial flap extention/retraction?

Great! Thanks for the good work and the update on it.

As Yo-Yo said, best chances are that you're leaving your mixture control in FULL RICH and not on RUN. As you climb the mixture gets too rich (too much fuel and too low air/oxygen) and the engine can't develop enough power to keep climbing. Question to the know ledged ones, shouldn't that reflect in the manifold pressure gauge?

Yes, smoke pods, tried and no joy. Probably because of Beta. Waiting for this great Sabre to evolve...

I'm making this comment understanding that the module is still in beta phase. Currently the Sabre bombs with pinpoint accuracy from a slow, levelled flight. Is it planned/possible to change it to a more realistic profile? (like a 50 degree dive IIRC as stated in this document) http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=127938&highlight=unclassified The rocket runs are also quite shallow.

Did anybody, in game, found the landing gear emergency release? is it the non-functioning one, left of the central console?
-
The problem is that you get used to a way, let's say on the Warthog, or the Mustang, and then you move to the Sabre and everything works the opposite way, and it's get messy. There should be a standard set by ED that would benefit all the products. IRL if I want to flick a switch up, I move my finger up. In virtual life if one wants to flick a switch up, the same movement/click should be done every time. BTW, I love the Sabre.
-
Are most of the switches working against the (maybe not official) convention that left click is up, right click is down, mouse wheel up increases, mouse wheel down decreases, etc etc? It's quite confusing now. Maybe due to the beta stage.
-
And I noticed that the trim action on the Sabre is a lot less sensitive than in other DCS aircraft, what I find a good thing. Not more that problem of 1 tick up is too much and 1 tick down is also too much but to the other side. I would like to have a TRIM RESET option, even if it didn't exist in the real aircraft as in the simulation we don't have the sensitive feedback on the stick. I find that after messing around too much with the trimmer, specially aileron trim, I struggle to neutralize.

Speculation yes, founded or unfounded I leave it to you. Some times when there were "significant improvements", there was a financial repercussion. And I gave 2 examples. You have been around for a while, I'm sure you remember them. Was ever hinted that Black Shark 2 was going to be a paid upgrade? If it was I missed it... I may probably consider that it is fair to have to pay for a "significant improvement" like a graphic engine rewrite. However, I might not agree with all possible ways to fund it (like charging for module migration) It's not my style to throll in forums, and I promise you it is not my intention in this case. If I ask is because I DON'T KNOW if it will happen or not, and as a client I really consider I have the right to respectfully ask. So, if my legitimate question is offensive to ED (I don't see why it would be), any moderator can obviously delete it. If not, I would like to have it answered. If the answer is that there will be no charge, then that's it, and this and my previous post will be ignored. If it is the opposite, at least we will have an early warning. EDIT: Viper, I now see your ED tester forum tag, may I assume that your answer was an official answer from ED?

I just hope it doesn't mean that we will have to pay for 1.2.X modules to work in 2.0.0. Black Shark 1 to 2 and FC2 to 3 comes to my mind. Sorry, but I smell a rat here, there were recent changes in the ED bonus system plus the BIG version number change... I know that ED already said that World 2 will be freeware, but I've heard nothing about the modules. I am as exited as everybody with version 2.0 and EDGE, but I would not be able to afford all the modules I bought for 1.X.X. I hope I'm wrong, but it might be good to clarify the situation to avoid a shock later.
