  1. That switch shouldn't need any lua editing. There should already be 'special for joystick' bindings for: UFC ADF Function Select Switch 1/OFF and UFC ADF Function Select Switch 2/OFF
  2. A1-F18AC-NFM-000 page I-2-4. Or page 31 if you're looking at the same PDF as me. I've not much comprehension of what the 32lbs of force feels like, but it is simply a case of relying on that rather than bothering with the finger lifts if using MAX to depart from the boat?
  3. Obviously can't argue with your experience, but what's the above quote from NATOPS on about?
  4. Actually need to correct myself: It's not simply weight on wheels that extends the lockout, but WoW *and* the launch bar or hook exteneded. So for land-based operations the finger lifts (or force) wouldn't be required to engage afterburner on the ground. Even on a carrier, you could still presumably engage afterburner without the finger lifts if the launch bar hasn't been extended.
  5. I nearly specified that they were disengaged for afterburner operation, but thought that completely obvious given the context.
  6. The confusion might be that the finger lifts only prevent the throttle being moved beyond MIL with weight on wheels. Even then they can be pushed through with the aforementioned 35lbs of force. When airborne, the finger lifts are disengaged. I'm no authority, but that's the case as far as I understand it.
  7. Email from SystemActive on Friday said ETA for first preorder customers is first week in November.
  8. They're just separated into common TV resolutions and traditional PC resolutions. It's not 'Ultra', but 'Ultra HD' or 3840x2160. The (native) indicates the resolution of your monitor, and is the one you should really be using.
  9. The above is now an official press release... https://press.hp.com/us/en/blogs/2020/hp-reverb-g2-vr-update.html?__s=sz1weohawz5t3qq1mgvw
  10. They don't appear particularly spiky though.
  11. Developers don't even use the VR technology that came with the 1080, four years ago.
  12. Since HP haven't told anyone else when the G2 will be available, I think Amazon are guessing. Be very happy to be proven otherwise.
  13. Putting ON/OFF in the binding name does suggest it's a toggle. Pretty careless by the devs.
  14. I'd recommend something like this. Takes a bit of practice to get the crimping consistent but it's worth the effort. If you get some 2x2 dupont connectors, you can use those for all the switches/encoders which have four wires. Should make plugging things into the board much less fiddly. Have just realised that you could make a lot of the wiring less hassle by doing this...
  15. There must be alternatives. It's not like they have to be rated for 2 million activations or anything, just have a nice feel. Problem is that unless you work in a related field or have a helpful acquaintance it's gonna be trial and error.
  16. Those ones in the OP aren't great. The NKK ones linked elsewhere are far better, but very spendy given the quantity needed.
  17. I'd say there were too many variables to make an accurate prediction. If it's rendering at half the horizontal and vertical res there's actually only 25% of the full res pixels. VR performance however is also very CPU dependent which may limit gains from the lower res. DCS itself is also more reliant on the CPU than most other software.
  18. There's no swap functionality, but you can display any page on either.

  20. It's the difference between flight idle and ground idle, as you suspected. The reason in the real Hornet (iirc) is to reduce spool-up time from idle while airborne. DCS obviously can't prevent you from moving the throttles to ground idle while in flight, hence the slightly odd behaviour after you've landed.
  21. Just had an update on my order. HP have said they're due to ship in October, same time in all regions.
  22. Somewhere in this thread is a link to a zip file containing an OBJ. I should really add stuff like that to the first post.
  23. Straight from today's newsletter: F/A-18C Hornet updates • The engine has received a sound update (WIP) • Major external sounds update
  24. Putting 'OFFICIAL RTX Launch Date' in the title is complete BS though.
  25. https://www.tweaktown.com/news/74396/exclusive-aib-custom-ampere-cards-launch-alongside-founders-edition/index.html Pinch of salt, as always.
