  1. I think the Radar Altimeter is 'Push to Test Switch'.

  2. I'd have thought roll would be caused by asymmetric load, and asymmetric drag would result in yaw.
  3. The fact that we don't feel anything seems a good reason to boost the volume, despite it not being strictly realistic. I thought I'd read that the speedbrake isn't audible IRL, but it certainly is in DCS. If that's true there's some consistency issues going on.
  4. If the brakes can't slow the aircraft, more drag may have a greater effect than more weight on wheels.
  5. 1. The velocity vector with respect to the runway - i.e. your descent rate - is controlled with the throttle. 2. Keeping the velocity vector aligned with the E-bracket can be done with either trim or stick. However it's much easier (and presumably standard practice) to trim so the stick is neutral when the aircaft is on-speed. 3. The stick should not be used to change the position of the velocity vector relative to the runway. 4. Pulling back on the stick to try and move the VV further down the runway will increase your AOA, increase drag, reduce airspeed, and have the opposite effect from what you intended.
  6. There is no autopilot until you activate at least one of those modes.
  7. Had a lengthy break from DCS but was still struggling with this in 2.5.6. Was determinted to fix it without resotring to trashing all my bindings, and won. In a cold and dark jet. the default keyboard bindings would move both levers between OFF and IDLE with no issues. The warthog throttle would move them from OFF to IDLE, but it was impossible to go back to OFF again, even using the keyboard. Seems to have been a simple case of the axis input not being zero when they're all the way back, and that prevents them going to OFF. I changed the X saturation for easch axis to 90%, and everything is good again.
  8. Being trimmed to 1G does not equate to level flight, only that your vertical speed will be constant. Edit: Missed the bit about the aircraft becoming increasingly 'nose heavy'. That does seem odd, I've never noticed attitude changing when everything else is constant.
  9. Are you asking how to change which screen the TDC is assigned to? That would be the sensor control switch on the stick. Can't tell you what the keyboard mapping is, but it should be easy enough to find in the control bindings.
  10. Have you considered a crosswind? Edit: Sorry, I am evidently crap at reading today.
  11. If DCS can do terrain masking it should be able to account for hangars.
  12. The world scale setting affects the distance between the left and right cameras, to compensate for people's eyes being different distances apart. I agree with Nodak, that there are too many variables to make it possible.
  13. It's some combination of resolution and fullscreen for me. After changing to 3440*1440 and enabling full screen it would hang before getting to the main menu. I edited the options.lua back to 2560*1440 and it still hung, but changing "fullScreen" to false it started again. Strangely, after then changing it in the options to fullscreen 3440*1440 it started normally again so I've no idea what's going on.
  14. I'm getting this as well. Seems to related to video settings. If delete the saved games folder DCS starts ok. Change the resolution to 3440*1440 and hit 'ok', DCS automatically restarts with no issues. Change other graphics settings and on the following restart I get the splash screen, followed by the full-screen logo which is where it hangs. Delete saved games folder and start again... Went through the above several times last night. Haven't had the chance to figure out what the exact cause might be. Will try and investigate logs this evening.
  15. It's a reasonable suggestion, however it's kind of moot considering that in DCS you're forced to look at a switch - and therefore see its state - before clicking it.
  16. What F-18 throttle?
  17. I thought there was an issue with it being displayed constantly, when it should only appear under certain circumstances? That's going back a while, but I don't remember seeing anything about it being changed. Happy to be corrected if I'm wrong.
  18. There's no key assigned by default, it's listed as 'dispense button' in the control mappings.
  19. Noted, thanks.
  20. Knew it wasn't currently implemented. Haven't seen any suggestion that it requires hydraulic pressure.
  21. "2.8.2.10 Mechanical Linkage (MECH). Mechanical linkage provides backup control of the stabilators for pitch and roll control."
  22. F1 should return you to cockpit view.
  23. Tying things down.
  24. It's not a cockpit switch. It's a sensor which prevents things like the undercarriage being retracted while the aircraft is on the ground.

    Hide Throttles

Doesn't that screenshot also show that you can only see the strobe switch with the throttle in a particular position?
