  1. GGTharos... Please reread it again.. NASA "Maximum speeds are listed as Mach 2.54 and 1.21 at 40 000 feet and sea level, respectively." Maybe I'm just misunderstanding somehting here............
  2. Thanks GOYA, that did it.. My options reset on me and I didn't even think to check here... thanks
  3. Hey GG, I've been trying to find the PW engine thread but it's gone. It appears the this site cleared out it's old stuff (I only see 3 pages history). anyway.. this is nothing to get my nickers in a twist.. why implode tho? Pressure will drop outside the Jet, but the pressurized cockpit with still be at 14psi (thereabouts).
  4. I have seen this also at various US air bases ( and watch it accelerate), and I just don't understand why it's not modeled as to what I have actually seen? (tho I do realize this is just a game) Everyone here throws documentation at you, but when you stand at a airfield and watch one of these puppies go straight up , it goes against what you hear here.... It confused the heck out of me also how ED can be so right, but my experiences shows different? Mabe the island were all playing at has a higher gravity field? guys... I'm not bitching here... just observing...and realized nothing will be done anyways.... anyway... I gotta head to work... enjoy the day everyone..
  5. ??? Published F15 documentation states that the thing can go 2.1+ mach at sea level and 1.x at higher alt (don't remember). So i would find it unlikely of the canopy implosion suggestion.... Actually wouldn't it be a explosion, since bernoulli's law would be ineffect? (lower pressure outside due to moving air which will be greater than the sealed enviroment the pilot is in) There is a link on this board about Engines of the PW-100-xx versions and and that published paper is where I got my info from, (not include other sources hear and there). go ahead a try this in lomac... you'll go mach but your hud tape won't go above a certain speed. You'll all know my feelings on the F15 model in LockON, but going 750knots and get a betty bitch warning "maximum speed", is ludicrous. I can only surmise the ED developed this limitation because it is such a small Island . By the time you get to mach 2.x you'll be half over the map.
  6. I guess we are all looking a bug and not noticing.. the hud readout at the bottom left is showing mach 2.38 (as above), but isn't mach1 720knts at sea level? why isn't the HUD speed tape showing 1440 kts? (and before anyone says .. well it's a 38k ,---- you can repeat this at 500ft)
  7. There is also in the movie thread at UBI on how to do all this... I think you save a track. Play the track back and record bits and pieces from that. Then you take all the bit's a pieces and put them together in a video editor of your choice.... bless the people who do this...I just don't have the patience....
  8. It's a AVI thing.. max size is 2 gig... I don't remember the details but it's either on the ubi board or this one...
  9. lol... enjoy the trip
  10. I know it's 12 minutes later, but post some FPS with LO:FC please and some screenies (obviously post in the screen shot thread, but let us know here). I'm considering doing a upgrade myself, but am curious of any LO benfits if any.....
  11. that's so cool.. but aren't all hospital rooms pretty much the same?... jk... :D have a great time....
  12. Morning Guys.. thanks for you inputs and will try again tonite after work.. (pilotasso...I am engaging under 20nm, but I think it's quite possible this also is occuring in situations)
  13. Yes.. but wouldn't that also be enough to get a nctr indentification?
  14. Hi Prophet... In one case tonite, I did have the star showing, and I couldn't tell if it was friend from foe in the VSD (I didn't fire in this case and broke lock) and it turned out to be a friendly....
  15. Hi GG.. I just went thru the tutorials again and I'm doing everything right except for waiting for (RTR) with in R-MAX and R-MIN range. (like is showed on the tutorial). NCTR was showing unknown in my situation online and I think this is where I was making my mistake..(over anxious). Target was at approx 15nm out. Shouldn't the F15 identify friend from foe by this distance..?? No jamming at this time during this senario..pic above was from a different engagment.
  16. Guys... I don't get this... I keep shooting my own guys... yet my mfd radar identfies who is friendly and who isn't... If they look like this.. don't shoot.... right? (dot) When I lock onto the other type of symbol (rectangle), like tonite, I end up shooting friendlies. (got a few complaints then got booted) I don't blame them, but I am following the books, and tutors on how to do this and I still keep targeting friendlies. What in the hell am I missing with this freaking sim? IFF PLEASE ED!
  17. sure...go to local store.. by plastic jet...and mail it to him... :D
  18. I was actually wondering if LockON is dying out since there has been none to very little activity on HL....
  19. Yeah.. you guys are right... I double checked my info and it goes anywhere from 23 - 28k depending on source...
  20. Cobra.. where did you get your information? Everything I've read says the same thing... 60klbs of thrust for the 15. 30k for each engine.
  21. I don't think it will ever happen by what I'm readin on the boards...
  22. I've never flew the 27 , so I can't really say in comparisons..(GG would be better qualified to answer this comparison) but I have taken out 27's just thru energy management with an occasional angle type move... ( the trick is, you don't have to quickly put nose on target... just keep him in sight while he is bleeding speed and losing movement abilities while you are positioning yourself for the kill..) The greatest threat in this senario is the all aspects a-a the soviets carried.. so you must always watch your position...
  23. Would think this is so.. but remember a slower moving aircraft cannot transition to a energy type fight as quickly as a 15 can.. To put this is another perspective... the 15 can go vertical and change the fight parameters quicker that the 27. (of course this is assuming I've got the angles vs energy types correct) if the 15 stays in the same horizontal plane as the 27, then yes.. your statement stands, but the 15 was designed to be a energy fighter also... hence it can take the fight out of the horizontal plane...... Yo-Yo's, going vertical because it can do it to trade alititude for speed.. etc...
  24. y'know.. your right.. that skipped my mind... I would figure with the 15, adding a leading edge, would really change the structure of the wing itself and would also force other structural change to accomodate this addition. so I guess we are back to the point before I opened my mouth....
  25. too bad there is no insurance against insurance companies !!!!
