  1. Just a quick Screenshot taken while making a video of the Mi-8 for YouTube. Looks mighty nice as my Desktop Image. But now I need 2 Monitors so I can also keep the one I had before, of the P-51 Mustang.
  2. Hi Flagrum, Thanks for such a prompt reply. It did have me very confused for a while and I had a suspected that it was now incorprated into the World War II AI Units Module, but without any conformation, I couldn't say one way or the other. I don't look into the .LUA's because I don't trust myself not to muck it all up :D I'll Start from scratch with my A2A mission and just verify that that indeed fix's the error message. after thinking about your reply for a bit, it totally makes sense now. The mission was made when there was a slot in the ,module list , for the Dora. But now that that slot is not there, its popping up the erorr message because that particular resource was not found in that spot. Not to say that it is missing entirely from my system. Thanks again for your help. :D
  3. I'm Sorry if this has been discussed elsewhere. I have searched, but either I am searching for the wrong thing or its just something happening on my end. It's been a couple of weeks since I last flew the P-51 Mustang, and when I did, I went up against ground units. Today, I thought I would fire up the 'Tang and go shoot some Fw-190's. I had a basic mission ( set up in a previous Version of WORLD ) so went to give it a go. Upon Selecting to load the mission, I received the first Picture stating 'Need modules for load mission:FW-190D9 by Eagle Dynamics'. I realized the mission should be recreated in the Latest Version of WORLD, so preceeded to try that, But got the same message. So I went to look in the Module manager and found Dora M.I.A ( as shown in the second piture listing installed modules ) ?? I remember it being there with 1.2.5. I tried refreshing the List of Modules, also signing out and in again + refresh. I also tried the Repair DCS WORLD function from the Start menu to no avail. After several attempts to rectify the problem, I decided to go ahead with loading the mission and just see what happens. The mission loaded fine and there was the Fw-190's. About all I haven't tried is a Full Re-Install. Is that something I should do to fix this? Or has Dora been incorprated into the World War II AI Units Module? I've been pretty lucky so far with this sort of thing and never had any problems with modules not working or going M.I.A after an upgrade, so I am a little perplexed as to what happened and why I am getting this error message. Any suggestions or advice on this would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.
  4. I bought the Hip just a couple of hours after it was released and ( like every other DCS Module I own ) I fell in love with it within minutes. I have the Ka-50 and the UH-1H and I am finding the Hip to be somewhere inbetween those 2 as far as handling goes. Only problem I have now, is deciding which Heli/Plane I'm going to fly. When they are all as great as they are, it makes the choice real difficult. :D Love your work Belsimtek. Keep it up and you have a customer for life. ;)
  5. Doh! Bad luck on my part to come accross this thread AFTER having updated my DCS World. :( Program loads fine, but a mission takes around 5 minutes to load. If I didn't crash so much, it wouldn't matter so much. :( Microsoft Windows 7 Professional 64bit AMD Phenom II X4 965 Processor Black Edition 3400 Mhz 12.00 GB 1600mhz 12800 Gigabyte GA-MA790XT-UD4P Motherboard SAMSUNG SSD 830 Series 256Gig SSD Western Digital 2TB HDD AMD Radeon HD 7950 3Gig Saitek X-52 ( Not the Pro ) AOC V27m 27 inch LED Monitor. 6. My First Flight on YouTube This is just a short video of my first flight in the Huey. I had nothing but the most basic controls set up and the Trimmers. During the whole flight, I was sweating like I had something to confess and the knuckles in my hands did not see any new blood for a good 10 minutes :) Hope you enjoy the show :joystick:
  7. I bought it within 5 minutes of coming home and finding that it was available. Just waiting on the 1.2.4 download now. :D I can't wait. :)
  8. Hi lbmoore. You sure can use it with DCS P-51 Mustang and it is awesome. DCS P-51 is not listed in the "Titles Tab", but you can save your own profiles by using the "Profiles Tab " and when done making alterations, use the "Save As " function to save your profile . Or, in the "Profiles Tab " you can look in the left Side panel of The program and it shows a small checkbox labelled " Exclusive ". And to its left, you can select from the drop down list, The Profile you wish to use. If you have used the "Save As " Function and have created your own profile, just select that profile in the drop down list and click the checkbox next to it marked "Exclusive". This will make your Tracking unit work in that profile only, not matter which title you own or load. Since setting it up with the P-51, I have been totally absorbed in the sim and learning sooo much more about Trimming the Plane, Maintaining Level flight and Constant Speeds. As well as about 10 other things too long to list here. I have meant to post in here, about how much of a difference TrackIr can make, but got so carried away enjoying the new world, that I just hadn't spent much doing anything else. I've only had it a few days, but I already know I can't do without it anymore. I'm a total addict now. thought it was just being able to look around that made it cool. I never realized just how much more 'aware' and 'vigilant' you can be with TrackIr. I can't wait till I have it all trimmed out and have more practice with it. But so far, my ability to control the Mustang has come forward in leaps and bounds, just in the last few days :O
  9. Ha ha ha. First thing this morning, I woke up and checked the forums while still in bed. I found the link to this video here and had a quick look. I couldn't stop laughing the whole way through. :D What a great way to start the day. Thanks for that. :D
  10. I am hoping that in my lifetime, head tracking and flight sim's will elvolve to a Point where you don't sit in front of a monitor, its HD Screens in a Headset, that the Track Ir device watch's. That way it can be right in the middle of your view for full range. :D And sslechta.....boy, are you in for a tonne of fun tomorrow if you TrackIr does turn up. I thought it was going to be a 1 hour fiddle and frustration hour, before I got it to work. But all I did was install it and it was running. Gave it some fine tuning and its been a whole new world since. Can't wait till my broken L.E.D Unit gets replaced. I've wanted TrackIr since before it had a number after it's name. Finally I justify spending the money...and it shipped to me broken. All I can use is the Hatclip. :( But even then, 1000% better than what its ever been, and it'll get even better yet. Absolutely stunning. I've killed my pilot about 5 times just looking at how cool it all looks :D
  11. :pilotfly: Wow! That's all I could say for about half an hour. I'm still sitting here stunned. I know I am a late comer to the whole "TrackIr Thing ", and I knew it made a huge difference to the whole DCS World......but wow...even my imagination was not that good. For the first time ever, I have had a Blast doing nothing but flying around. I usually want an objective/mission pretty much after 10 minutes of that. But I got carried away looking at the Instrument panel ( while free flying ) and crashed into the ground. I looked at the time and 2 hours had gone by. :D It's like some sort of patch was released and its a whole new world now. Can't wait till it is. :) Thanks E.D and everyone else for all your hard work. With DCS WORLD and TrackIr, you get to see just how much you were missing before, and just how awesome it all works together. Looking forward to many more flights.:D
  12. Lord_Pyro. Thank you very much for summing that up in such a simple manner. I have had trouble trimming the Mustang and could never find a "Sure-Fire Method" of working it out. I read your post yesterday and found that it works like a charm. Thankyou for taking the time to post that. I am sure it can help many others in a similar position. :D
  13. I too have noticed this when flying offline. While my Nav lights are on and I am in the air, I hit F3 for the Fly-by view and after the plane has flown past the camera and gets a couple of hundred meters away, the Nav lights disappear.
  14. I should have added in my last post, that the information I suggested was if the PC tower was plugged into and Extension that has a "Reset Button" on it. Some of these units do not allow your tower to Discharge the static build-up through the 3rd wire. This information is probably as useless as the information in my previous post, but it kept bugging me that I forgot to include that in my previous post. Possibly not likely to be a contributing factor in the OP's case, but I thought I would mention it anyway.
  15. Hi EtherealN, sorry for the wait, I have my DCS WORLD Internet Setting set for LAN. I read that a couple of months ago and set it like that. I must have hit the forums at the right time as there was a fair amount of discussion about that at the time, so I picked it up pretty quick. I'm keen to set anything to make Online access better :D
  16. I think there may be some merit to that too. When I first set up my Tower a couple of years ago, I found about once a month, my PC. Would not boot up all of the items in the start-up menu ( including Catylist Control Centre ) and my mouse and keyboard would not boot up. I would have to reboot my PC to get it all running fine again. But then one day, I updated some program's and restarted my PC and it just booted to a blue screen. I tried and tried to reboot it, but found the blue screen each time. In a panic, I rang a faithful I.T friend and he suggested that my Tower was building up static and not discharging it. Best way to tell, was to turn off the tower, then the mains switch on the Power Pack. Remove the Power Lead and turn the mains switch back on ( no power lead connected ). Leave like that for a few minutes and turn the mains back off. Plug the power lead back in and try to boot the PC back up. I found it worked a treat. About once a week to every second , I follow that tip and have not had it happen since. At first, I thought something was really wrong with my Windows install, but I've never had that problem since following that tip. It may not work for you, but it would be cool if it did work. I know I was pretty stressed about my new $3000 PC at the time. And it just seems to be a static build- up in the case. :(
  17. Well.... After most of the night, and half of the day today, I have been monitoring my Internet connection and also checking the server. I have been making adjustments to my Router ( 1 Step at a time ) with extensive testing after each change. I think at this point, I have the most stable numbers I have seen to date:- Download Speed: 11660 kbps (1457.5 KB/sec transfer rate) Upload Speed: 575 kbps (71.9 KB/sec transfer rate) Latency: 182 ms Jitter: 3 ms Packet Loss: 1% 3/3/2013 12:27:28 PM That's pretty much the average result I get now, with less variation than I was getting with Testing Yesterday. And straight after getting this test result, I checked the server again and the result's are in the Picture below. @ Hawk_5. That's really handy to know. Thank you. I rarely ever try a Session with a ping over 225 because I believed I would drag it down. I did try just prior, and just after updating to 1.2.3 and was finding nothing but Connection Interrupted after a short while or immediately. I once got into a Session with a Ping ( I think was around 250 ) and it was just a Slide Show. I left immediately believing it was most likely me that did that :( I live about 400 meters away from my Local Exchange, but not sure the exact path of the network from the Exchange to here. It may Service the back Part of the Suburb before here because of its location. Outside distance couldn't be more than 1800 meters. I have also considered that it could be local Network Traffic, but have not really seem much difference between Peak and Off-Peak Times. After 3am, all local Business's are shut, Government Buildings are closed and most everything is shut down. After a lot of checking, there is a slight benefit, but not enough to Cheer about. I've gotten a better Latency improvement today through testing, than I have at just about any time . :)
  18. I am actually in Australia ( ACT ) and there are area's in town that are getting the NBN installed and over the last few months has made a small difference to this end of town. Unfortunately, it is all happening at the other end of the city in the newer housing developments. :( Over the last 12 months, I have seen my Netspeed climb from around 1.2Mb/s to around 1.4Mb/s at peak speeds. I would like to move out the end of the City that is on the NBN, but you basically have to buy a house there to get it. I'm not so sure I'm willing to pay that much for a better net connection and at the rate it will take them to get out here.....it will be at least 5-6 years more. :(
  19. Hi All. Sorry it has taken me so long to reply to you all. I was away from my PC for a few hours last night and went to bed early. :( I've been through my system to double and Triple Check that it is set as you suggest. I made sure that DCS World has access through my Firewall ( PC and Router ) , rebooted and resarted my whole set-up and checked again. Then ran some speed tests. ( http://addgadgets.com/speedtest/ ) I ran the test about 20 times and found that the result doesn't vary much except I do get 1-2% packet loss about 2 of 10 times and I got 2 instance's where it said a 4% packet loss. On average the results were as Below:- Speed Test results Download Speed: 7579 kbps (947.4 KB/sec transfer rate) Upload Speed: 245 kbps (30.6 KB/sec transfer rate) Latency: 221 ms Jitter: 2 ms Packet Loss: 0% 3/2/2013 1:02:27 PM Immediately after I finished the tests, I logged onto the server and checked the pings. Although, at first, it looks like a significant difference because the pings of the sessions at the top are quite low ( Top 4 Sessions ). But I believe that the only reason there seems to be significant difference there, is because my last screen shot was taken on Friday ( work day ) and now it is Saturday. A Couple more Local Hosts are on today. Where Yesterday there was only 1. But if you note the Sessions that are in the list ( ENO's FireHouse 1.2.3 , WarHawks=war-hawks.net= , Hollo Pointe , etc ) their Ping today is not that different to yesterday. I make a regular habit of turning my Router off Every night ( especially during summer temperatures ) because it tends to get quite hot. I go out at night and hate to think I would come home to rubble cause the Router got too hot :D I dont like to leave anything running if it doesn't need to be on. I've also been through and checked to make sure all of my Network Drivers and Router Firmware are up to date and they all are. I only rebuilt this system back in October, but sometimes you only have to blink and there is a new update, so I checked it all anyway :) I even grabbed another router I have, which is also up to date , and tried the tests with it. Same results through both. I think I am getting about the Peak I can get ( at this time of the day ) through my network. I have found that , like yesterday , I entered the 161st Squadren Session which the server showed the Ping as 54, but when I got in there ( I hit " ) and it was showing the ping as 34 . I flew around for about 20 minutes and landed and my Ping remained at about 34-38. Although, I dont think I was anywhere near the Combat areas. There were 2 others in there, but I was not in a relative area to where the fighting was going on. I think I am in an unfortunate spot on the planet, where you never get to have as much fun as everyone else online. :( And even if I had access to all the server's, I think I would still want more :D Just can't enough of Missions online :D I'll just have to keep a close eye on the server at regular intervals so I can find when my best times of day ( and which day ) is best to fly online without causing an issue for others or losing connection.
  20. Just a quick update, I was able to join and had a very stable connection whilst in the session with a ping of only 38. Unfortunately ( as shown above ) it is the only session I can join without ruining it for everyone. :( I should know by now that when a software company Improves MP stability, that doesn't mean I can join more sessions that I could before. Stability does not equal lower ping on a session. Just a more stable one. If it was out of reach before, it still will be after MP stability improvements. :( Here's hoping I can find a job on the other side of the planet so I don't have to worry about the ping :)
  21. Just thought I would add this picture to show how I see the server. Today I tried joining the server hosted by the 161st Squadren. As you can see, the ping value was 54. Yet I still recieved an immediate "Connection Interrupted ". I have been informed that I am not in the banlist of this server and the host can not see any reason why I should be unable to join the hosted session. P.s. I have just spoken again with the host of the 161st Squadren and it was found that I WAS in the banlist. The host is not sure why, or even when I was banned. The ban has been lifted and I am looking at trying to join again.
  22. :D I have been hoping and praying for just such a thing since I bought LOMAC back in about 2006. Unfortunately, it seems like all the coolest stuff is made overseas and so very little of it can be used online here. I'll check back each new major update, but without some major change in net transmissions, I'm not too likely to have a great deal of success. In the last 4 years, I have only ever been able to join the top few sessions and no more. Sometimes not even that. I've never really wanted to live somewhere other than Australia, but I have to say, when it comes to awsome-ness like DCS, its a real kick where it hurts to live here. :(
  23. Yep. Exactly. I agree 100%. That's why I feel it is best for me to just back away from MP and be done with it. There's no point in me chasing a better connection when its just not gonna happen at this distance. I'm disapointed that I even tried it because now, none of the pathetic little mission I have made for myself match up to MP. And the SP experience is not even a patch on the fantastic experience you get online. Don't get me wrong, I LOVE DCS in every form. But its just not the same when you can't share the fun you and others are having. Until the Missus agree's to move closer to the server, I am just gonna have to pretend MP doesn't exist. I dont see her changing her mind any time soon. :( OH well. Such is life. Thanks everyone for putting up with my lag and I am sorry to have brought it with me. Knock a few bogies down for me next time you all go online. ;)
  24. Hi Skatezilla. I am very mindful of the Ping to a session I try to join. I understand that one bad connection can spoil the whole thing. Thats what I meant about not being able to check my connection on sessions above 225. I know that as soon as I enter, it drags the whole session down and it may not even recover after I leave. Hence the reason I stated that I can only join about 4 sessions. I don't want to spoil anyone else's fun. When trying to join MP, the server will look like this. 1st in then list will show 74-125 2nd in the list will show 130-160 3rd in the list will show 180-225. I am lucky if I can join most days and that is why I was so bummed today. In the few sessions I was actually able to join, I get no warning about high ping value, but instead, without warning BANG! Straight back to the server list and a message saying connection interruted. The ping is still low enough for me to join ( like one session today at 74 ) but I get an immediate "Connection Interrupted ". I have been flying on DCS MP for about 4 years now and am well aware of how the high ping values can affect everyone's connection. Anyway, Its seems to me, that the best thing that can happen right now is that I just back away from MP. Not only because of the issues today, but because as addicted to MP as I am, it is just one big disapointment that I will only ever be able to enjoy a fraction of it. Thanks for all your help and advice everyone.
  25. Hi Psyrixx. I am absolutely certain I am not trying to join Password protected sessions. The sessions that have a little "*" next to them indicate they are password protected. I do not know what happens when you try to join one. I have never been given a password for a session, so see no need to try and join in case. I am also certain that the session I was trying to join, was not accidentally started without a password being applied and the host shutting it down to then apply the password. The sessions I have gotten the message "Connection Interrupted" on, have remained without password after my exit, and no amount of Restarting DCS, My PC or rebooting my modem, changes the "Connection Interrupted" status. I have had 1 host come forward and ask if I had tried joining their session which is hosted from just a few hours by car from me. They assured me that there is nothing I am doing that should get me booted from their server and have checked their bootlist, without finding my name. But it was one of the sessions I tried joining today, that gave me the immediate "Connection Interrupted " message. I have tried Repairing my DCS World and found no difference in my ability to join. If it means a fresh install.....then I'll cross that bridge when I come to it. I guess this is just gonna be another one of those Brilliant programs I can't live without, but because the majority of users are on the other side of the planet, I'll only ever get to experience a small fraction of what other take for granted every day :(
