You can't unless you install on the internet connected computer (Use parallels or bootcamp for a mac) and update it - then copy the DCS world directory to the other computer.

Are you using 1.2.1.6192? It will be displayed on the bottom right of the Main Menu screen. It was updated this morning. Use the Update icon in the DCS entry of the windows start menu.

FPS should be restored to 1.2.0 levels or better for high settings, and improved 20% over 1.2.0, for low settings in 1.2.1.6192.
Stutter, other than disk access stutter, is significantly improved over 1.2.0 too.

You get those sounds and drop in performance, as the engine dies from overheating. If the engine is overstressed but remains cool enough it can still throw a rod = instant engine death.
Also as I've discovered recently running at too cool a temperature can be just as catastrophic.
