  1. Sorry for the OT post, mods delete it if you consider this spam . . . :music_whistling: My band is entered into a local newspaper's annual singer/songwriter contest and WE NEED YOUR HELP!!! :helpsmilie: For real guys, go to this site to vote: http://chronicle.augusta.com/stories...nt_93669.shtml You may have to register with the site to vote, but it's free . . . My band is #8 American Skin (song is Tobe Hooper) If you are interested, the band's myspace is: http://myspace.com/americanskinband
  2. It's an absolute shame that ED chose the Ka-50 instead of the Mi-24!! Imagine the logic: a rare, barely in production aircraft or a very common, used in many countries, probably more info publicly available aircraft . . . duh.
  3. It would be nice to have the ability to maximize the interface to higher resolutions, would be able to see more of the chat window, a longer list of friends and players online, etc. Quite a bit more work on the buddy list and messaging system would be nice too . . .
  4. Been awhile since I flew online, but when I do its the vanilla Su-25--better speed, maneuvreability, and survivability than the Su-25T. My standard loadout: 4 Kh-25ML (for AA and tanks) 4 RBK-250 (for any ground vehicle, especially convoys) 2 R-60 (for A-10s and F-15s :megalol:)
  5. Wow, it's been a long time since I've seen LHX!! I actually liked that one, it was interesting that you could fly the Osprey in it . . . The Gunship series was great too, and I liked the Longbow series.
  6. Anyone else find it amusing that the ABRIS system has more functionality than the current ME?? Stuff like naming individual waypoints, drawing FLOT lines, etc . . . these are things that would be really nice to have in the ME. So it looks like the more advanced mission design will need to be done while airborne--but only if you happen to be flying in the Ka-50 . . . ED is sooo weird!! They can make such an unbelievably advanced FM and now avionics, yet things like a logical GUI and Mission Editor that every $5 game has they can barely manage . . . Sorry about the negativity, just been a bit frustrated with Lock-on lately . . .
  7. Good god!! That is very impressive!! I actually can't wait to give the Ka-50 a try after seeing this! Wanna point out to the guy doing the tutorial though: if you have an ATI card you won't get the flashing vertical lines in the mountains if you disable advanced haze . . . (you'll pick up a couple bonus FPS too!) :megalol:
  8. We can only dream . . .
  9. I`m just curious if humancockpit=yes will allow you to fly other helos using the Ka-50 pit . . . I prefer my flyables to actually be aircraft that are in service!!!
  10. Another week, no update? Wow, I never thought I would be a whiner . . . :music_whistling:
  11. Actually, the barely-in-service overweight pile of porkfat that is known as the Su-25T is what is lame . . .
  12. LMAO!!! :megalol:
  13. Yeah, there are already 8 new pics up but nothing exciting--just a couple of new missile models.

    Iraqi Su-25K

    Gorgeous work!! Keep 'em comin!!
  15. Awesome skin!! One question though: I remember a certain skin that had a preset aircraft number and no matter what you tried to change it to it wouldn't work. Will you be able to change the number from the payload screen with this skin?
  16. Man I love you . . . :icon_syda Cold war era is THE best scenario for a sim for a number of reasons, the prime being balance. There are not any better timeframes where both sides are evenly matched, at least in the jet age. WW2 works really well for balancing, and I think that during the 80s a similar matchup existed. NATO Flyables: F-15A F-16A A-10A F-14 A-4M Jaguar AH-64A Warsaw Pact Flyables: MiG-21 MiG-23 MiG-25 MiG-27 MiG-29A Su-17 Su-25 Mi-24 Theatre choices: Central Europe (Fulda Gap scenario) Kola Peninsula Bering Straights
  17. Cool! Can't wait to hear what's in the works . . . Any way you could pass these requests to the powers that be?
  18. Good point, probably true . . .
  19. I have a couple of ideas for the implementation of humancockpit = yes in LOBS. First of all, I realize that realism is way off since you will be using the wrong cockpit and avionics. I read not too long ago on these boards that SFM will be used for nonflyables in 1.2. Ok, so the overpowered fm for humancockpit = yes is gone . . . I think that the ability to use some of the nonflyables as flyable in mp missions could open up a lot of possibilities for balancing--take for instance the blue side lacking SEAD. Here's my ideas (these would only be active for nonflyables, not the current flyables): --Add the phantasmagoria's HUD symbology to all the current plane's HUDs, so when using an aircraft that has SEAD capability you will have a way to target the missiles. Example (using an f-15 pit for a flyable F-16 or 18): switch to a2g mode, then hit "I" and you will get the phantasmagoria's symbology in the f-15 HUD. --Add the maverick tv and ir image to an mfd when a nonflyable is carrying a2g missiles. Example (same pit/plane combo as above): radar mfd becomes mav seeker image if a mav is selected. any optical missile would use the k-mav image, laser or ir would use the d-mav image. --Tailhooks/wingfolding useable for non-flyables (no matter which cockpit is used). Key for launching the catapult on the US carrier ("u" key maybe) Can you see the mission possibilities opening up??
  20. There's my dream sim right there!! Too bad they will drop the ball on it--no online component except for free-for-all dogfights (same as the Strike Fighter series). Things they DID get right: Era--80's cold war gone hot. DC (very basic, but still will auto-generate missions for you to fly). SF series finally gets HUD's, CCIP, TV-guided missiles--problem is radar will probably still be very arcade. If TK can open his mind and develop the MP aspect of this sim it could potentially take the crown in the MP department.
  21. A-10B??? I think you mean the C model. Wouldn't fit the timeframe though . . .
  22. Why are you hitting the panic button? Lomac still has a strong following both in these forums as well as online with Hyperlobby. It does seem that a huge chunk of the community migrated to F4: AF (in fact even in the 504 we were affected). If ED wants to retake the lead they HAVE to develop a DC, if not they will sell copies but will never be in the #1 spot.
  23. LOL!! My dream sim is a mid-1980's scenario over central europe with each of the aircraft I mentioned as flyable (plus alot more of course!). How cool would it be to loiter over a hot target area in an OV-10 marking targets for the fast-movers!!
  24. 1. A-4 Skyhawk. Sexy small jet, single-seater (which I've always thought was cooler than dual-seaters), fast for a ground-attack aircraft, extremely nimble, carrier capable. My dad was going to fly one in the Navy during the Vietnam war era, but flight school was so backed up he went into a beach jumper role. 2. Sepecat Jaguar. Such a sleek yet wicked a2g platform. Gotta love those above the wing mounted heaters too!! 3. A-10. The world's best CAS aircraft, what else needs to be said? Man, I wish I could have had 4 choices though so I could include the OV-10 Bronco!!
  25. I try my hardest to get my friend's who play FPS games to give lomac a try. They are all scared to tackle the "learning curve". Why is this an issue? The process of learning the sim was to me the best part, so much so that now that I'm not learning as much new stuff lomac is becoming a bit stale. Each game I've ever bought was the most fun during the learning phase, then got old and repetitive as I learned all of it. Flight sims IMO have the longest learning phase, so therefore more life.
