  1. So what you're saying is, you're single. :D
  2. I think I have a bit of a crush :P
  3. Thanks for the info, looking forward to seeing your work.
  4. Are there any maps for the new DCS airfields like those found in this LO map utility? I searched but was unable to find any. Thanks for your help. :)
  5. The modders are already doing astounding things with this release. I'd much rather pay them than Ubisoft, because they're the only reason I'll still consider buying this game after OSP finishes crashing and burning.
  6. Oh the perils of being pedantic.
  7. "Are you ready to dispense quick justice with plausible deniability. . .?" :noexpression: Wow.
  8. +1 :clap_2:
  9. Criticizing someone who takes the time and effort to create and share something that could potentially improve the game for all of us because it doesn't suit you personally is pretty bush league.
  10. ED already refuted that same press release about a month or two ago in this very thread. They're sticking to the noncommital "early 2010". :(
  11. *Drool* My wallet's ready when ED is.
  12. If you're using a full-size ATX case, I'd suggest a Zalman 1000W PSU. Cool, quiet, rock solid reliability, and plenty of modular cables for all your components. Plus, it's future proof. You won't need to worry about the power requirements for your next upgrade with a 1KW PSU.
  13. Negative, the incident is well documented.
  14. I'm sure you've heard of the famous real-life incident where an F15 had a wing sheared off and still managed to make a safe landing. The money quote: "The F15 has a very wide body, you fly fast enough and you're like a rocket, and you don't need wings."
  15. Bob is prescient. :)
  16. If you hear an enemy fighter before you detect it visually or with your sensors, don't worry, it's just the sound of your fighter escort to the elysian fields, because you're already dead. :smilewink: But seriously, the sound in lockon isn't so much surround sound, as much as it is a fixed set of sounds for a given camera position. Try panning around your aircraft in an external view while you're flying and you'll see what I mean. You'll hear no engine noise in one position, and then you'll move the camera a few inches in another direction and hear the full roar.
  17. La vidéo est très belle. Merci!
  18. Wow. That price point ($399) is a little out there.
  19. Noooo!!! :cry_2:
  20. DCS on Steaming POS? Blasphemy!
  21. I guess it depends on which engine is doing the tracking. There's more than just position to take into account, there's cover as well. I guess the FPS engine could take care of that.
  22. Personally, I think that's the only possible way the concept could work. It simply can't be done (faithfully) with a single sim engine, not with today's technology anyway. But even then, the amount of terrain data that would need to be processed in order to accurately track the position of infantry units, (units that can move behind rocks and trees, move in and out of buildings, etc.) would be overwhelming.
