I still want, want, want paratroopers in this game! The ability to compliment gameplay across all modules is absolutely immense! From Russian VDV operations through simulated Korean or WWII insertions... If the Mission editors could "load" the requisite AI with infantry and equipment then this could even bring a HUGE compliment to Combined Arms. Yes... I know I necromanced my old thread but heck - i see some pretty solid validations as to why this would be nothing short of awesome in some of these responses. perhaps now that the modules have grown, this might be something that can be debated again?? :thumbup:

Thanks stonehouse - you helped quite a bit while I was drafting it for wwii. I do need more feedback though so if anyone had flown it, or ran it in a server for any extended period, please let me know how things went.

this was actually a WWII mission that i re-purposed quickly for the Korean era... does that make me lazy ? :P Hopefully there will be some solid feedback to tighten the screws but it should be playable

hey guys - some DoW guys tried this tonight in the p51 and it seems to be working fine... but now that i enables aries radio... it keeps trying to start up with each DCS mission... i disabled the plugin but it still fires up. is there any way to shut it "off" when i dont want to use it?

Easiest ? Matter of process I'd say... But the 190 has less chance of blowing off awing or an engine -
I hope the methodology for bringing stats to bear might be shared? DoW would certainly love to implement this on our servers

i flew it tonight and it crushed my pc while i tried to fly and host... :D that said, it really seemed to actually work well - i think we are going to try powderkeg on the dedi soon so hopefully I can watch performance with a higher client load.

Heya Stone, 2 quick questions: I have 4 CAPzones on blue + 4 CAPzones on red: 1) WIth local numberofredCAPgroups = X in the configuration... is it limited to 4 (i.e. the # of CAPzones?) or can i increase it to 8 to have 2x flights in each zone? 2) With numberofspawnedandactiveinterceptorgroupsRED = XX in the configuration... I had it at 3 - can i place it higher to increase the chances of an AI intercept on a client? what are the drawbacks of making this 8? Thanks... it seems things run just fine but i am noting that client folks are still rarely ever intercepted... AI goes balls out after AI but things seem light for client a2a. I also note in tacview that the 55G6EWR doesnt show any red "bubbles" that typically indicate detection zones... the Hawk is fine so I'm not sure if that matters?

Actually there was a full demo in the reveal where they actually used the headset to create a 3D plan and mock of a quadcopter - they also let all journalists experience a full demo of working units after the reveal - of which many have written their account. The only application for sims that I can imagine flows from the "on Mars" demo.... I wonder if it could surround my desk with enough immersion /resolution for me to believe I am in a cockpit looking out???
