  1. I thought so, thanks a lot for this info - it is much appreciated (as well as your efforts to test it).
  2. I hope that Ka-50/Mi-24 AI cannon usage isue will be fixed as well. Serious AI landing problems would be also a nice fix - but I have already given up on this and accept that many of my missions end up with AI crash on landing
  3. Well I think it is not so simple that a western aircraft would communicate with Eastern EWR. EWR/GCI certainly uses special signal modulation/encryption, which needs to be compatible with the receiver, so you certainly wouldn't be able just to tune EWR frequency and listen to EWR commands to fighters sent to intercept you in your F-18/16/15. Mig-29s from my country couldn't communicate with NATO aircraft at all, they gained the capability only after a special modernization and even then they are still not fully compatible. Communication between western/eastern hardware is not so simple as one would imagine.
  4. I am from 55-60 to 47-50 ... nothing dramatic, so far enjoying the beauty of the cockpit and the model. I am just disappointed by peoples' reaction so far - it's been only several hours since the release and nearly all topics address some minor problems. Sure there are some and always will be, however the aircraft is so fantastic and polished (nothing really major is missing) and setting a new bar for all. I say, great job LN - take a deep breath and a bit of rest, you guys deserve it and you've done fantastic job with Mig-21 !
  5. Well a two ship AI Mig-21 (or any other plane) is still not able to land normally :no_sad: - I reported this some six months ago... Above that, Ka-50 or Mi-24 still does not engage with their guns...I would rather like to see those improvements above all else, as these are pretty basic AI skills.
  6. NPP is just an indicator and can work in different modes of operation. It can be used for Radio navigation (this is the RSBN system - Radio technical system for short range navigation) or it can be connected to an inertial navigation and display navigation data from virtual waypoints. Su-25 uses IKV-1 system for inertial navigation, which is working with DISS-7 doppler navigation and V-144 onboard computer. In Su-25 the system can have 3 virtual waypoints pre-programmed and 4 target waypoints (airfields). Basically there are only 2 things simplified in DCS World for Su-25. First is that you can have more than 3 way-points and the second is that it switches between the waypoints automatically.
  7. Also remember that the cockpit is hermetically sealed and pressurized and this dampens all external and engine sounds a lot - speaking of my own experience. The current sounds are pretty realistic.
  8. Creating the framework for Multiplayer cockpits using L-39 as a test-bed is not important enough?
  9. It won't be as simple, we've seen start-up and takeoff video of Mig-21 on 15.1.2014 and it is still not released...although L-39 is much simpler aircraft it takes a lot of effort to integrate all cockpits systems and their models, flight model, damage model, LOD, textures, moreover the multiplayer cockpit possibility and many other things... I think there is huge amount of work together with lot of testing, bugfixing and other unexpected obstacles (like we've seen when Mig-21 was cancelled)... So far only Belsimtek has shown that they can pull off new modules and hopefully a few more will do so this year. But it only shows that the process of creating such high fidelity aircraft is a very complex task that needs a precise project control and lot of effort and time.
  10. We don't really know what has happened and it is unfortunate, but I am happy that we are getting L-39 from ED and it will serve as a testbed for multiplayer cockpits, a technology which will be greatly beneficial for everyone. I wouldn't like to wait some two years so ED might create a new multiplayer aircraft and drop L-39, which must have been in development for a long time.
  11. I am very excited about L-39 news, apart its great look and flying qualities, it will be a perfect trainer for Mig-21 pilots :)
  12. Just my thoughts -, TGP is running at lower resolution than the main render and by default doesn't compute every frame (unless you select it in options). So to render the front view with refraction, you would probably have to render the whole DCS second time (with another two renders for mirrors and TGP running separately). It is just my speculation, but it would be very hardware intense as many ppl have problems running DCS only with the main render (without mirrors/TGP).
  13. I just hope they will fix Ka-50 and Mi24V gun attack AI also soon.
  14. I've just set-up a mission with AI UH-1H minigun against soldiers and they died immediately. I also tested AI AH-64 and Cobra and all worked well. Only AI Mi-24V and Ka-50 are not able to attack anything with their guns (they are just mixing eggs with them and not shooting).
  15. Thanks a lot Alpha for the great information, it would be interesting to have it implemented(but probably too complicated and only in campaign).
  16. Please don't delay the release because of few instruments not in English - this can come later in a patch.
  17. Yes, it is logged in the electronic engine control unit (EEC) or HMU (Health management unit) - it is dependent on the engine type, it is a part of FADEC - Full authority digital engine control system, which is presently used on most modern engines. You can read different engine logs from the unit (raw engine data), operational time, service life, number of starts, error codes, limits abuse, etc. The logged data are again proprietary for each engine type and architecture of the FADEC used.
  18. It is different for every engine as defined by its manufacturer. For example the engine I am currently working on has the following service life schedule: Up to 80% of the current limit 1 second of real operation equals 1 second of service life. Above 80% of the current limit up to 90% it linearly increases from 1 to 5 and from 90-100% it again linearly increases from 5-8. So if you operate it at 99%, one second of operation costs 7.7 seconds of service life.
  19. Probably this doesn't matter in the game, but in real life you decrease the service life of the engines and their components considerably...it can be as much as 1 second of operation at limits takes 5 to 10 seconds of service life or even more.
  20. ED has a very difficult task to design a good AI for such a variety of combat aircraft. I really don't know if it is possible or feasible to design special tactics for every aircraft against every aircraft, e.g. you need completely different tactics in Mig-15 against P-15 or Dora and completely different tactics against F-15 or Su-27 or Mig-21. I don't think it will work in close future :D
  21. works well in my 1.2.10, fully tanked Su-25T carries internally 3780 Kg of fuel. In the cockpit it shows on the fuel gauge the number 378 and on the scale it is on the number 3.8 out of 10, which is about 38% of the scale as it should be. The fuel gauge scale goes to 10 000 kgs of fuel so if you carry 3780 Kg of fuel it should show about 38% meaning that you have you internal fuel tanks full.
  22. Still not fixed in 1.2.10, this bug makes many missions problematic :(
  23. That looks like a task for Rambo, not a realistic mission tasking for KA-50 (or any other craft for that matter). Now I know I don't need to bother with this campaign:) .
  24. If the devs are reading - maybe it is helpful, but the problem seems to lie in the file \bin\WeaponsBase.dll, I have replaced it with a file from an older 1.2.8 version and AIs fire their guns from KA-50 and Mi-24V just fine, once I put back the 1.2.9 WeaponBase.dll they are not able to shoot.
