  1. This means that you can have only one type of bombs (you cannot combine FAB-250 and 500 on the same aircraft), or one type of laser guided missiles or one type of rocket pods. You can however combine bombs, rockets, guided missiles with some limitations.
  2. No problem, our AF used SU-25s in the past and I am in contact with technicians and pilots who worked on them and I asked them about loadouts, which were operationally used. Weapon "computer" as well as other things is very simple in Su-25 and you cannot even mix different types of bombs and usually only a single type of weapon was used with fuel tanks on inner pylons, which were nearly always used. Operational loadouts from Afghanistan/Chechnya are also described in the book by Y.Gordon which confirms what I've been told. He even states, there were squadrons which specialized in rocket weapons and some on bombs only. In general, Su-25 can take a lot of ordnance but IRL there are limitations. In operations, simple and relatively light loadouts (at around 1500 kg of load) are/were used. People often load the 25/T with everything possible and then comply that it handles like a pig and has a limited range :) The other thing to remember regarding fuel consumption is that Su-25 sports modified Mig-21 engines without afterburner and is a frontline attack aircraft not very suitable for long range deep strikes, other aircraft are used for this role like Su-24.
  3. This is absolutely unrealistic loadout - in real life usualy 4xS-8 pods are carried or 4xFAB-500 or two guided missiles. The figures you are giving are absolutely realistic and I don't think the game would mistake liters for kilograms - all specific engine fuel consumption are using kg or lb in calculations, liters are never used.
  4. Why should the fuel capacity be 3500 kg? Standard Su-25 without droptanks has 2750 Kg of internal fuel, the T version is at 3800kg. These figures in DCS are certainly correct.
  5. I think, it is correct to name those blue buttons as AP buttons - because they provide stability augmentation (oscillations damping - SAS) as well as angular stabilization in pitch, yaw and roll axes (basic AP functions). IvanK also designates them as AP buttons.
  6. I have flown KA-50 at first and after I mastered the 8 and returned to KA-50 I cannot imagine flying it without autopilot channels under normal circumstances. Now I appreciate even more what the AP channels (on top of SAS) are doing for me. Control of the Shark seems now so easy and gives me a plenty of room to concentrate on the mission itself, weapon employment, sensors, etc.
  7. I hope that it stays how it is, Russian coalition speaks Russian, as it should. It was really awkward having to mod the sim to have Russian communications when flying for them.
  8. This has been really annoying for a long time. I've asked for it several times on the forums, but I got no response. Su-25 really suffers from automatic waypoint switching as you have no other way to fly to a waypoint. You are flying to the target waypoint and at 2 km or 3 km bang, you are pointing to the next waypoint and you even cannot switch back. The real RSBN does not automatically switch waypoints and it shouldn't be that hard to stop that for Su-25.
  9. I have it on lowest setting (256), but Mi-8 mirrors seem always to be on some higher setting, no matter how I set display resolution the mirrors are still the same.
  10. I don't know how others have it by Mi-8 mirrors kill my FPS much more than any other aircraft in the sim. At times over bigger cities the mirrors take 50-60% of FPS. With mirrors off I never get under 30 FPS with my current set-up and settings with mirrors on I got to 14 FPS over Novorosiysk. Would it be possible to add an option for lower details in the mirrors (it looks awful having them black when they are off)?.
  11. Absolutely fantastic Mi-8s from an airbase 30 km from my hometown :):thumbup::thumbup: If I might ask, is it possible to remove the heat shields? :)
  12. Let's hope that it get addressed - it also works in KA-50. The only way you can get the rudder trim to work is to disable FFB, but it is not much of a solution.
  13. Yes, the yaw channel of autopilot has nothing to do with trim.
  14. That pretty much answers the question, with FFB turned on - the rudder trim does not work. It is probably a bug. I also have G940 and rudder trim does not work even when its enabled in the special tab.
  15. do you have a FFB stick?
  16. Thanks :) - I know that, however I would welcome to have at least the centering trimming (optional) method working as in Ka-50 when using FFB :)
  17. Well, I agree with the pedals - but the FFB stick using the SIMFFB utility works very closely to the real thing - I was able to fly a full blown military sim Mi-8 with fully actuated controls and I will be going there again in December (with my newly acquired flying skills :)
  18. Rudder trim does not work with FFB enabled (even if I enable rudder trim). Even if it might be closer to reality, it is quite tiring flying with pedals always depressed somewhere...
  19. Well, I hope that it gets noticed as it seriously downgrades our attack capabilities :)
  20. The same goes for me - I can run all modules great with mirrors, but in Mi-8 in some situations FPS drop drastically. Last time I landed in Krasnodar North with some vehicles and static aircraft on the ramp I went down to 15 FPS, while with Ka-50 (with mirrors on) I get 30+.
  21. Yes, the mirrors on the Hip are nice and high resolution, but it eats up a lot of performance. The mirrors should react to Resolution of Cockpit Displays, because no matter what I set it the mirrors look the same.
  22. Yes, you are right - I looked only at the light - it is probably dim or just not well visible on the camera, the bars are moving so the AP is working. I will add a very nice although somewhat sad video of departing of 9xMi-171 from the Czech airbase Prerov, which is to be closed, just look at the modernized cockpit:
  23. For me the 8 is much easier to control with AP ON. With AP OFF there are more oscillations that are harder to counter - thus it may seem more agile however it is less controllable (you exert an input and you have to counter a fast oscillation with second input). With AP ON, all oscillations are countered, so the control with single inputs is more precise and it may seem more agile, but it really is just more controllable and stable.
  24. You remember it well, they were there maybe in the days of LOMAC 1, but it was not realistic so they were removed in subsequent versions (I approve it).
  25. Yes, the standard real Su-25 does not have any Audio Warning System.
