Alt HOLD Autopilot does not work when QNH is different than 760. If QNH is lower it will stabilize you at lower altitude than you are and if QNH is higher it will stabilize you higher. Attached track illustrates this behavior with QNH in weather tab set to 740. I am flying at 2000 with the correct QNH altimeter setting (also external view shows 2000 meters) engage the alt hold autopilot and it descents and stabilizes me at 1800 meters. This is also valid for the Route Autopilot and also the Landing AP. Landing AP will always crash you if weather QNH is different than 760. This is even more problematic with dynamic weather. This is not a problem, there is a long standing landing AI BUG, they abort landing just before touchdown and then either crash, go under earth or repeating until running out of fuel (sometimes landing). For some planes it is better and they are able to land after few attempts, but Su-25s are particularly bad and are only seldom able to land, usually going under earth. I've messed with all kinds of waypoint settings, fuel settings, skill settings, even messed with lua files but haven't been able to solve it :(.

I'd suggest trying higher numbers - AFAIK 10 means a turbulence of 1m/s, so this is not much effect.

AI formation landing problems is a long standing bug, which has been reported but not solved (it's been already a year - I've sent also a ticket with tracks), I hope that DLC campaigns will bring some pressure on resolving this, because it can seriously influence SP gameplay and does not look good if half of your assets crash during landings.

RL landing weights for Su-25 are defined as follows: Maximal available landing weight = 13 300 kg Maximal landing weight = 12200 kg Recommended landing weight = 10800 - 12200 kg For Su-25, the landing weight from 12200 kg -> 13 300 can form only 3% of all landings and landings at such weights should be done only in case of emergencies. These numbers could be a bit higher for the T version, I always land with fuel less than 1500 kg without weapons and with fuel at 600 kg if I have some weapons left.

Well, the real aircraft does not have trim axis and it is dangerous for high performance aircraft, just imagine moving axis trim to full aft/down at Mach 1.5, or vibrations moving the trim wheel in real aircraft, moving the trim wheel under G, etc...moreover you would have to move the trim wheel very very little during very high speeds. Well there is a bunch of reasons it is this way in RL aircraft and such trim is also the best solution for jet fighter aircraft.

Could the fixed UB-32 be also used on Su-25s? We still have there those horrible looking ancient UB-32s there :)
-
It was reported nearly one year ago, ED is probably aware about it, but I doubt we will see this fixed before DCS World 2.0. I reported it in: http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=123973&highlight=landing For me personally it is currently biggest problem in DCS World and I always check it when a new patch arrives.

This is valid for S-13 rockets and only S-8 rockets used on helicopters (standard aircraft S-8 work fine). Moreover there is another problem that all rockets emerge and fire from the point of the sticking one, it is valid for both S-8 and S-13. I am attaching a screenshot and a track. RocketsS8error.trk

In 1.2.12 - Su-25T HUD does not indicate waypoint numbers in route mode and it also does not indicate airfield numbers in VZV mode, which makes navigation difficult. Screenshots attached.

I can confirm this. It seems that we have a new model of the S-13 launcher and something has gone wrong.

The recommended nose-up attitude for touching down should be between 9-14 degrees.

Here is a nice video illustrating some smooth Mig-21MFs landings - notice how gentle the actual touchdowns are:

landing with such parameters would most probably end your career in east block air-force unless it was an emergency :) I am saying that because we have one such aircraft, which served only as a teaching tool after such landing. The gear can withstand such landing, but its fuselage got slightly bent putting the aircraft out of service. Touchdown speed should be maximally 330 km/h and descent rate should be lower than 1 m/s. You should normally flare at 1 meter above ground and let the aircraft gently touchdown. This is what the pilot's manual says and what I witnessed when I saw Mig-21s land - I haven't tested it yet in the sim, so good luck
-
I cannot confirm this, remember that not all airports have the ILS system. I've just landed at Krasnodar with Su-25T in 1.2.11. I am attaching a screenshot with correct ILS indications on the HUD (K-G) and HSI as well.
-
Now I get it, sorry... Today, I've tested it extensively to replicate it (around 30 KH-25ML launches with moving the reticle before and after launch after ground stabilization). So far I haven't encountered this problem, it works well with my setup .
-
I suggest you to use the trim for flying the flanker with keyboard ... it might work. If it is slow you can try to increase keyboard repeat rate.

It may be not a bug, but a feature, laser tends to jump even when stabilized when it illuminates angled/sloped grounds at certain angles at longer distances. Just fly closer and it should stabilize - it is actually how the real laser behaves because of aircraft vibration which are hard to stabilize and uneven/angled surfaces, which then make the laser jump. You can simulate it with a laser pointer :)

It's been finally solved in the latest patch (1.2.11) !

For RL Su-25 it is suggested to start rotation at 160-180 km/h at nominal load by pulling the stick from 1/2 to 2/3 range with nominal load, with full load the rotation should be done at 200-220 km/h. The front wheel should lift at 190 - 240 km/h. This is perfectly replicable in the sim and shows how good the flight model is  . For Su-25T the speeds increase by some 10-20 km/h. Full flaps should always be used during take-off. :pilotfly:

How do we tell if our jamers are turned on in the su25t??
Dr_Arrow replied to Raven434th's topic in Su-25T Issues
Both jammer indications are now on the HUD, moreover turning on Sukhogruz now produces also very characteristic and somewhat annoying sound. I say, good job with the T-frog ED!, I am very happy with this update. -
Cannot confirm in official 1.2.11, no problems with Su-25T gears so far.

Su-27 Open-Beta chit-chat and first impressions!
Dr_Arrow replied to JulienBlanc's topic in Su-27 for DCS World
It wouldn't be realistic, the real Su-27 as most of the Russian aircraft uses a trim operated by a discrete four way switch on the stick. -
Good idea, it would be a great asset for IR weapons live firing practice

Interview with Leatherneck Studios
Dr_Arrow replied to Count Sessine's topic in Heatblur Simulations
I wouldn't buy DCS level F-14 without AI RIO, so I hope they will implement it at least on some basic level. Voice recognition would be cool to have to give commands, but a third party soft like VAC can do the job.
