Your cpu is 2.8 ghz according to a google search. You are doing better in that department than me. Your OS is good. Video card will probably work. Mine never goes over 25% usage..well it didn't with 07 patch. I think you will be ok. Definately look at upgrading in the future though.

Can someone share their TrackIR 5 profile?
Shez replied to jpanside's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
Are the axis moving correctly? Left when you look left etc? If not check that you the clip pro isnt selected. Also go into camera view and check out what your camera is seeing. If you are way off to one side you will need to move your camera to compensate. I think i remember someone saying the hat clip isnt as accurate as the clip pro. Might be a contributing factor. -
Good one!

Recomended specs are listed on http://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com For reference. My cpu is barely getting by. Single digit fps at times...chug..chug

It better have DCS quality tractors! :D Tractor pit, anyone?

I'd love to have a DCS F-16. But, I think an F-18 with full carrier ops would be more interesting and fun. Can you say "night landings in bad weather onto a pitching and rolling deck"!

All the training missions are covered in videos on Waggs youtube page. Just search you tube for DCS Black Shark Producer Notes. You'll find em! I never got much out of the training missions myself. I spent too much time hunting for the right controls/switch and by the time I found it the instructor was 3 steps ahead of me and I'd be completely lost. Hopefully one day we can have A10C type training missions for the shark.
-
Wait? Are you telling me that Black Shark and A10C came with a manual? :o
-
Nice! I just got her up and running again last night. Can't wait to check it out!
-
If you can get into a HOTAS set up do it! And then as soon as you can get some form of head tracking. And some rudder pedals down the road. Those three things will boost your game play and put you in the cockpit! I'm using the G940. Despite it's problems it's still decent. Especially for DCS Black Shark!
-
Yeah I don't allways use the Helmet sight. Either way they are both fun. I just need to get A10 working again. Plagued with problems after my last OS reload. Wheee! Flight Sims!

The ABRIS is pretty complicated. I haven't even tried to dive into that yet. But the KA50 is pretty much point and shoot. Well, once you can point it that is! Master arm on. Select weapon. Laser to stand bye. Select attack mode. Find target. Lock Target. Point. Shoot. A10C Is point and shoot once you get everything set up. Maybe it's the new training missions in A10 that make it seem easier? Very hands on instructor there. He's even nice enough to shine his flash light on the correct buttons, switches and/or dial! Makes learning the different systems pretty easy.

It's a Gateway FX7020. It's been in use for a few years :D More than 3 gigs is a waste when the video card has 1 gig itself. G940 isn't so bad. The rig has done everything I've thrown at it...Even A10C...just not very well lol. I thought about trying to throw W7 64 bit in it. But I'm not sure it's worth it. Probably try it on a different hard drive just to see if it works. I'd rather fly than fiddle with my an antiquated system! It's what I have so it's what gets used. If I wasn't getting married soon I'd have upgraded. :P

I don't believe that mod changes the language that are custom to the mission. Just ATC, Betty, and wingman language. Or am I wrong?
-
Recomended specs should be on the www.digitalcombatsimulator.com Black Shark page. I'd grab the link for you but that page is blocked at work. :D If it was me I'd build one to run A10C! I believe, eventually, Black Shark is getting updated to A10C level. No clue about specifics for that though.

Some one would have to rerecord everything in english. The mission voices ( not atc, wing man, etc) are actual recorded voices and not text to speech. I agree though. Its very hard to fly and read at the same time. Good luck!

Sunset sierra mission - JTAC not responding
Shez replied to ScorpionFalcon's topic in Mission and Campaigns
I haven't done that specific mission yet. And I just tried to verify if the radio's will tune to 65.5 in game but apparently I'm having some issues with the game atm. Double Check your frequency. And make sure you key the right radio. Mic Switch FWD for VHF FM Mic Switch AFT for VHF AM MiC Switch DWN for UHF Sorry I can't be much more help. Now to go figure out why I can't get into my game haha Good Luch -
Hold the button down. Watch the guage fall. When it falls all the way to the left (Not sure if it's zero or what the level is) you will get a warning indication.

Great Vids! I just tried this campain the other day. Holy fratricide batman on my part! Must remember that if the tank is facing away from you toward the FLOT then it's probably a good guy! :( I got to Devil's Cross 4A and my poor computer wouldn't run it. Marginal on the first 3 but this mission just put her down. Hopefully a OS re-install has helped a bit...it's been a few years.

Is it worth it? Absolutely! It opens up a whole new level of immersion. Looking into turns allows for more accurate flying. Being able to look around easily increases your SI. It's not just for flight sims. Racing, Arma II, and whatever else you can think of. I need to try and use it in my MMO's! Haven't tried that yet. I just set it up in the Track IR software using existing profiles. I've never set it up in A10C. I do believe the newest Track IR software works with 64 bit. You'll have to look that up on their web site though. Get it! You won't be disapointed. -
A tool for DCS on Android ? Are you interested ?

Awesome! Now I can toss my paper coppies! -
Ive noticed that without engaging nosewheel steering before engine start up the aircraft will sometimes roll forward. Doesnt seem to happen with nosewheel steering engaged. I remember seeing in another thread someone noticed the front wheel would spin around and seemingly weather vane into the wind. Maybe it's related?

My TrackIR is irritating and pedantic :/
Shez replied to Frostiken's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
Could it be that because it's attached to a hat that that could cause it to move a bit? Thus losing your original zero? It's a pretty sensitive toy.
