Good question speed, but id be giving too much away! No seriously, most are user flag linked which if done correctly coupled with random units for certain missions, are never completely the same. Plus when you consider that the specific missions (ie time activated) if completed, can have a positive or negative effect on the persistent missions available, for both red and blue. Oh darn! Did i just say 'red' then?:-). There's a little more too it than that, but in essence thats how its done. Jump on and fly it sometime and we'll chat on ts when you are familiar with some of the missions, specific and persistent. I'd love toknow your thoughts and perhaps ideas. Regards 'T' Ps. Sadley. Othing worse than flying for 6 hrs to have a random ctd, clientside or serverside and not be able to replicate, especially when server resources are seemingly ample. I'm wondering if actually this isn't correct if the 3D engine is turned off via the graphics.cfg, despite the fact that it looks incorrect, ie the path statement. I'm no programmer though. Anyone shed any light? 'T'

The DPE - 'DCS Persistent Environment', is a constant period of between 16 and 24 hrs of continual mission evolvement and development, depending on the contribution made by the pilots choices to attempt missions throughout a 16 - 24 hr period. Decide whether to attempt a 'persistent' Mission or one of the 'Specific' Missions that start within every hour. Basic Mission information for every mission is available in the in flight briefing page in both graphical and textualised format, but thorough Mission Info is available at the 74th's Webiste - http://www.74thvirtual.co.uk. Waypoints are not pre-set for missions, so pilots will have to enter 'part' Bullseye information (Bearing and Range) into the CDU Offset page to achieve a 'rough' area location. This can be further finetuned by entering MGRS/UTM Grid data into the Waypoint page of the CDU, especially poingnant when working with JTAC or if the Grid is available as part of the mission briefing. DPE Mission Status' messages, will be displayed every 15 minutes as a means of offering overall 'SA' to those pilots on the server of Missions that have been completed. This may aid in the selection of which missions to attempt. Pre-cursored by the 'Persistent' Mission number (M3 for example) or 'Specific' Mission Timing (S11-12). After going to the 74th's Forums to research mission Information, the pilot see's the following: Let's take a look in the Mission Support Info Thread You can see that inside this thread are documents and videos designed to clarify methods used to navigate the Battlespace bearing in mind that no Navigation is pre-programmed. As well as Docs and Videos, we can see that there is information based upon Mission Support. Let's take a look at the Re-fueling info: In this post we can see all the information that we need to be able to link up with the tanker and drain her dry! Points to note here are the mission time. The Tanker will not be available until 0900 hrs. Let's go back to the main DPE Threads: Now, lets go take a look in the 'Specific Mission Briefs' thread Here we can see the DPE Timeframe split down into hour groups. Currently the DPE is only 16 hours and although we are adding all the time, we are fairly confident that what we have will keep you and us fairly busy for a while. Check back here often as new missions are added all the time. Ok, so, lets go take a look at one of the entries; 0800-0900 hrs, whats going on during this time? Ok, so again, we can see here all the info we need to be able to achieve this mission. When, Where and Why. Let's take a look at another entry. A Very simple mission this one, that involves nothing more than Escorting a C130 to NOVOROSSISYK. Simple........or is it? Let's go back to the Main DPE Threads. and the final thing we'll do here is pop into the 'Persistent Mission Briefs' to see whats inside. This mission is 'Persistent'. It doesn't matter whether you do it at 0930 hrs or 2200 hrs........or does it? Completing it early in the DPE period may help you on other persistent and specific missions. You will need a password to enter LYNX and enjoy the DPE and this can be found on our Teamspeak as the MOTD: Address: 217.146.89.100 Port: 10143 Password: stripeycat You must remain on Teamspeak throughout the Flight. Not so. 'Frequency Scratchpad' is an excellent utility that displayes the ATC Frequency, rwy dir's and other information for every airfield on the DCs map. Accessable via a scroll wheel, IMHO the only reason to the MFD on the x52 Pro.

further to add, no need to have 7 holds, just the one suffices if referenced after specific conditions as an AI Task, multiple times if neccessary. Hold being cancelled on a waypoint route by 'Group Resume', for example.

If you set the unit to being invisible (sometimes the norm for JTAC's for mission integrity and fluidity), then it will not show up on the TAD via the EPLRS system. However, set an AI Task to turn it to on when a specific condition is met, for example all units killed. 'T'
