Watch our for mirrors too!! especially in LOS or within FOV of TIR5 - it goes nuts! 'T'

Yeah, sure mate, i was simply pointing out that the H is almost negligable at night. The D a lock sooner than the H????? on a summers day with bright sun (as is mostly the case on home made missions because we like the eye candy - rech!). Not strictly correct to be frank, but, each to his own opinion. //moves on to ice cream truck

Mk-82 Dive Angle, Airspeed Recommendation
Heli Shed replied to polygonpusher's topic in DCS: A-10C Warthog
go watch my videos, they'll help. Regards 'T' -
The slider will be a nightmare mate, honestly! You will get 'flickers' if you use it because it is not a 'precise' method. You really are better off with just using the mouse wheel on the throttle. trust me. I been where you are and set the slider up for Black Shark. Yuk. GL. 'T'

The D will not neccessarily lock before 'H' models. The D Models rely upon a significant heat signature to be bigger, in relation to the background of the specific target, for it to obtain lock. This clearly depends on several factors: 1. Your Altitiude 2. Your aircraft attitude 3. TOD - Time Of Day 4. TOT - Type Of Target 5. Meteorogical Conditions In otherwords, just because you can obtain a lock on a 5th Gen MBT (T80 for ex) at 15000ft for 7km on a clear day, doesn't mean that you can obtain a lock on a self propelled SAM platform at the same alt and distance. Self propelled SAM's have much better IR protection than most MBT's by virtue of the fact that this 'IS' it's defence, where as the MBT uses a combination of factors for its defense, namely: Mobility, Survivability, Firepower and Armour. You have a better chance of locking onto a Shilka for example at a further range with an H than you are with a D. In conclusion, it is not a question of which is 'better than the other'. Both have their advantages and disadvantages, and there is no 'universal' solution to aid in the decision of 'which one should i use'. They compliment each other and give you the pilot, the most choice for selection in accordance with the conditions. Try using an AGM65H at night?

The manual is fine, there just needs to be a few minor changes to the sim to reflect acurately the content in the manual. Undoubtedly the reason for an eagerly awaited patch? Without it, AFAI am concerned, it's still awesome! But, if you try to follow the manual on some things, it aint gonna happen wabbit'! http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=68471 lists those things that are still 'wrong' or such things that still have an air of ambiguity to the accuracy. Ack by ED and to be addressed later on. good stuff. 'T'

BS will always be BS. When it was released the community fell overthemselves with the complexity and fidelity of such an awesomely made sim. It truely was, hell, is, the ONLY proper simulator out there. FSX, ARMA series, doesn't come close. You can't just jump into a BS, you need hours in the seat to make her dance and put her where you want to, first time, every time. Anticipation, describes the community awaiting the DCS A-10C model. amazed, of course, we all are, fantastic job by ED and the Devs, but 'anticipation' none the less. With BS, it was a punch in the face with a hammer and then like being set on fire by a group of 'hoodies', while they done something nasty to, well, i dunno................your gran? Exactly, gobsmaked! Well done OP +1 here. 'T'

Advice to mission designers re waypoint placement
Heli Shed replied to Bahger's topic in DCS: A-10C Warthog
Waypoints. Ultimately a Mission Designers choice. I prefer to provide the Waypoints on the ground, some others prefer the realisitic solution of in the 'air' as part of a pre-determined, pre-programmed flightplan. No-one should be saying to anyone else this is wrong. If it was wrong, we wouldn't be able to do it in the ME. Remember folkes, we are NOT reall A-10C pilots here. 50% of the reason we do this is for fun, the other 50% for the priveledge provided by ED, for a small inkling of a view at what it must be like to be a 'real' A-10C pilot. We comply with that first 50% by reading tfm, by taking our ground discipline, flight and engagement skills seriously, by using brevity correctly, and by being able to interpret someone else's call, and act upon it. In the air, on the ground, waypoints are just waypoints. Not neccessarily where the enemy is! 'T' -
A10C IVS (Instructional Video Series) - by Tyger
Heli Shed replied to Heli Shed's topic in Screenshots and Videos
All the videos are relevant to the Release. New videos are inbounds for 'other' systems. Regards 'T' -
GAJ52, hi. You can still see the videos on Youtube. just search for 'tigerpwrr' as per my Sig block. The videos are all 'still' relevant, even to the release, except of course that I am no longer a SL with the 104th Phoenix...........Ahh....Happy days, but brighter ones ahead! Mk82 air's for <1500 ft, level attitude. Make sure your CCRP mode is on CR - 5 Mil, adjusted via the IFCC menu. Come in at 30 degrees to target area to avoid being shot down by turret mounted weapon systems. Watch CBU Vid Part 2 for the 5 mill method, employ the same principles. Regards 'T'

Thanks for you reply, if anything other, than enlightening.

DCS: A-10C, More stable, no timeouts, reduced lag. Coincidence? Luck for us on the 3 times we have done this? or worth investigating by someone 'far' more intelligent than I am (not difficult). Just sharing. 'T'

I have no time for them! I spose the important thing is that the majority of the community know who was the incredbily talented master behind the original. Cato - GA, go get em! //undoes choke chain and points! http://www.youtube.com/user/GameZart is the ownder of the modifed GA Project X Video
