  1. Hint for the younger ones: Try to watch the first Top Gun before, if you didn't see it yet. It's not mandatory but of course there are references. For a DCS player it was nice to see all the buttons, displays and levers in the cockpits. I won't tell more because you'll watch the movie anyways And yes, it's made for entertainment, not a documentary nor to train real fighter pilots. It's more of a fun part for a DCS player to seperate the real stuff from the fiction.
  2. But you know that the last 5% may take a lot of time depending on how much existing and tested code can be used. It's like the progress bar of older Windows installations going up to 96% then stopping for approx. the same time it used to get there, before continuing with the last 4%
  3. 1. I always do a forum search before posting such bugs, couldn't find any entry which would fit to this. 2. Playing multiplayer the resulting track file is too large. 3. Track files are highly unreliable, especially multiplayer. Usually when I replay them something totally different happens like displaced planes crashing already at take-off. 4. Big thanks to Flappie for his testing effort. This is indeed hard to reproduce. For sure I've been longer than 15 s in mission (if you meant that with "wait 15s or longer") when this occured but maybe, as RafaPolit mentioned, sounds are even more delayed in MP ?

  7. DCS 2.7.10.18996 Open beta and some patches before Often there's no audible feedback when being hit. Affected units: various (likely all) Occurence: 5% ? In addition the game sometimes stutters when there's some info from the ATC or AWACS. I'm playing mostly multiplayer.
  8. I had two occurences now (in multiplayer) that locked a target in dogfight mode and the range was displayed as 2.9 miles. In fact, the targets were so far away that they could turn in front of me moving only a few degrees sideways on the HUD, i.e. they were still almost 10 miles away. Is this possible/normal ? 2nd occurence I had guns selected and the target was cold.
  9. When climbing, i.e. speed is lower than 190..200 mph the engine RPM goes down frequently by around 50 RPM for a short moment. This causes considerable torque and the plane is yawing/rolling due to that. Tried with a locked primer and this behaviour was gone.
  10. Is the in-game voice chat supposed to be working ? There are keybinds for push to talk (green and red radio) but it seems that the radios of the Mirage is not connected yet. Listening in a "room" may work, though.
  11. Wow, it's something totally different ! In TacView the 190 disappeared the moment the bomb was released ! => Some kind of desync. Just been on a MP server but didn't lose connection. In game, I've still been sittng in the plane but obviously unable to do anything. Now I know why ! Anyways, never heard controls in the 190 becoming inefficient / not working anymore in a dive. In a 109 that might happen at a certain trim setting and the P-38 elevators didn't get enough airflow at higher speeds but the 190... more like disintegrating.
  12. Sorry, please read. It's a known behaviour of the 190 that the trimming changes to nose down after releasing the bomb since the bomb seems to be (far) rear of the center of gravity in case of the 190A in DCS => pitch down. You have to trim like 4 notches up after bomb release. This is about elevator not reacting anymore.
  13. Approach @3.5km Dive on target, throttle back when entering dive. Dive angle like 30° to max. 40°, plane wasn't too fast for sure. Drop bomb, plane begins to pitch down after bomb released (known behaviour but that's not the issue here). Plane never pulls up when pulling on stick, still pitches down with the same pitch rate as after bomb release. Happened once before that I've lost my tail when pulling up in a dive (also looked bugged) but I think this didn't happen here since the pitch rate didn't change.
  14. Does anyone know how the Kormoran missile is working ? Since the German F-104Gs have no A2G-Version (VSN_F104G_AG has been removed in the Oct 2021 version) I have no clue how to get them working in the F-15 version... or am I trying something that's not supposed to work yet ? EDIT: Just saw on YT, anti-ship missiles currently only for AI.
  15. Also thanks to VFGiPJP GVad (Youtube) for the helpful videos ! I flew a ground attack mission and with (empty) rocket pods I couldn't run away from a MiG-19. Was the performance with payload suffering that much ?
  16. Downloaded this mod yesterday and read the instructions. Easy installation today, just extract the zip, copy the F-15 settings and reverse the axis for the thrust. I had to change the controls for the engine from left/right to the common thrust and engine start. As well as the controls for the flaps for the take-off/combat setting. That's all. The Starfighter flies easier than expected, first landing was successful, thanks to the instructions. Mach 2.2 @ 50000+ feet. First flight left a pretty good impression. Great work !

  19. Yes, it definitely changed, you cannot lock planes as easily anymore, especially low flying planes. I had planes flying very low towards or away from me (full Doppler effect) at 10 miles. The radar didn't see them. Seems that especially the look-down capabilities suffered. And often enough the planes are not where the AWACS claimed to spot them,,, Since I don't know the radar of the Mirage 2000C well enough I cannot tell if it is "messed up" or just more realistic now. So maybe describing your problem and kindly asking if this is normal is a better approach than suspecting a "messed up" DLC right away
  20. More interesting will be the different behaviour while pulling 9g. In a lightweight configuration the Eurofighter can pull them until it's out of fuel. I.e. the plane may even get faster and tend to overshoot planes like the F-16. So now instead of releasing the stick to find and keep the speed with the max. sustained turnrate, you'll have to release the throttle... or climb / go vertical, of course. That's e.g. the reason why the EF in the anouncement trailer is beginning with lower altitude than the Jeff and at least keeps it's altitude while the Jeff has to descent to keep the turnrate as high as possible.
  21. Crashed Du mit hoher Geschwindigkeit in den Boden oder verlierst Du vielleichst zuviel Geschwindigkeit und knallst dann eher mit langsamer Geschwindigkeit auf dem Bauch auf ? Die Su-33 in dem Video verliert bei dem Manöver übrigens 1500+ m Höhe bei 6+ g, das sind fast 5000 Fuß. Von Deinen 6000 Fuß bleiben da ca. 1000 Fuß (= 300 m) übrig. Das ist nicht viel. Wenn Du die F-18 schwer belädst, zieht sie eventuell keine 6g und dann wird's schon sehr eng... Wie ist Deine Zuladung ?
  22. Had two C-701s falling short today. The second one was launched at 7.9 nm distance, 5000+ feet, 350+ knots. View on the target was not obstructed. Missile went into the ground like 100..200 m before the target. I've never experienced this before. It was hard to tell if the missiles went out of energy but AOA still looked low. Maybe they lost the target somehow. Both missiles were the second one launched out of two C-701s carried in the mission. Both had the red caret (target locked) when launched. Happened in multiplayer. Did anyone else notice this ?

No ground weapons except maybe the gun.
  24. Hi ! It recently occured at least two times that enemy planes flying at a lower altitude were not detected at all by the radar. They were flying towards me approx. 3000..6000 ft above ground while I've been at 20000+ ft. They flew at least 10 miles through my radar cone without me getting a single blip. Radar mode was HFR. I've never noticed this before, so it looks to me like there was a change in the patch (23. July) but there's nothing mentioned. Also interesting that friendly planes appeared on the radar, so the radar was on and active. Did anyone else notice this ?
