  1. LMC is useless... I doubt anybody really uses it at present state. I can't believe there is no "stop the cam" button on Apache.
  2. I'm trying to engage targets while my helo is moving. The problem is the image on my kill-screen is moving as fast as my Apache. I'm trying to catch bad guys with auto tracker, but even that is extremly difficult. The only reliable way to follow the target I found so far is to hover the helicopter and track it, with IAT or manually. In Ka-50 the things seem to be much easier - you need to simply press track button anywhere on the area to stabilize the image. I'm sure that there MUST be way to do it in AH-64. So how?

As a person who have been flying helos in DCS since the the first installment of Black Shark that was sold on 2 CDs and who tried every helicopter in the game, I would say that flight model of AH-64 still has quite big room for improvement. Flying and turning became easy after 1 year of development, but hovering is still a lottery. Maybe 1 year later we will see easy-to-hover Apache. I can't imagine people in real life flying such unstable, unpredictable and super sensitive machine. It seems that Apache module is also very demanding in terms of hardware - pedals, suitable joustick and high FPS. I must admit that I'm far from matching all those boxes, but it doesn't bother me when I'm flying other modules.
  4. No, I didn't hear about IAT before. Now it became absolutely easy to follow the target... No matter what I do, it's to slow or too fast. The minimum bit of input is too powerful. Maybe I will try to play with axis sensitivity, as Floyd advised. Anyway, I doubt I will use this function again after IAT.
  5. Yup, I think that ED needs to improve input sensivity... LMC isnt helping in current state.
  6. Looks like it's working now... Some questions: 1) How to turn off the pink glass? 2) How to turn off pilot reflection in the mirrror? 3) Button for thrust vectroing? Does thrust vectoring actually affect the flight model? 4) Auto horizontal flight?
  7. I guess, you are right. But Im still struggling to hit a moving target in Apache. Are they going to make it?
  8. How to use new version of R-77 on Russian variant of Su-30? Is Russian variant of the plane for Air-to-Ground operations only? But at the same time it's the only one that can use new R-77. Please, explain how to use air-to-air mode on Russian variant... I tried playing with the options of the module in special options menu, but it didn't help.
  9. Trying to learn AH-64, but still didn't figure out how to engage moving targets or lock them on. Ka-50 Black Shark has lock on capability, that helps a lot to defeat moving targets. Does Apache has something comparable? It seems that - at least for now in the game - gunner have to lead and constantly lase the target manually. Is it so?
  10. I see both Air to Air and Air to Ground versions of Malaysian and Indian SU-30. But only Air to Ground version of Russian plane. And the new R-77M missiles are available only for the Russian fighter.. So confusing. How to enable Russian Air to Air version?
  11. OK, I downloaded. Put it to mods - aircraft folder. I can install SU-30 wallpaper in game now, but I can't launch the aircraft, can't find it under playable aircrafts in editor.

На англоязычном форуме жалуются, что точность стала заметно ниже, Петрович промахивается по простым целям, в мультиплеере попаданий гораздо больше, чем при использовании Петровича. Я полетал на выходных, Петрович промазал три раза подряд по 40мм пво в открытой пустыне.
  14. Здесь важно соблюсти баланс. Во-первых, искусственный интеллект бронетехники и ПВО в игре работает крайне механически с очень высокой эффективностью. Я был бы только за, если бы он приобрел более естесственный "человеческий" облик. Но в таких условиях - даже если прицельные качества Петровича выше, чем у обычного человека - Петрович просто соответствует других элементам ИИ. Если его "ухудшить", но оставить те же БМП настолько же снайперски точными, то это лишь разочарует игроков. Во-вторых, игроки в целом находятся в худших условиях, чем реальный пилот. Несовершенный джойстик, отсутствие педалей (а то и управление с клавиатуры), осмотр через экранные пиксели и т.д. В этом плане некоторые преимущества Петровича попросту компенсируют многочисленные недостатки положения игрока.
  15. I guess, I have this overtrimming issue too. Choosing "return to the centre" (not the default) under joystick controls in Mi24 specific options section helped a lot.
  16. What do you mean by overrun trim issue? Asking because I think I have it as well:) After trimming the helicopter it adds some 10 degrees.
  17. I think I got how to make it. Auto hover can be turned on under several strict circumstances. 1) The speed under 50 kmph 2) The helicopter must be leveled, e.g. be in parallel with the earth surface. 3) it must be trimmed, e.g. be in stable condition There is a panel to the left of your speed clock, it has flashing light. If the light is on it means you can't engage auto hover. If the light goes out, than it means that proper conditions for auto hover is met. It's quite tricky to go under 50 kmph in stable flight in Hind. Your collective (helicopter's thrust) should be at high levels, at least at 80%. To fligh slow with fast working engine you should turn the nose of the helicopter about 20 degrees up before returning to the leveled flight. That's the hardest part. I find it useful to turn yaw autopilot channel (H channel in the key bidings) before hovering to stabilize the helicopter.
  18. I can't switch Hover Autopilot on as well. Pressing the button just don't do anything. I'm trying to maintain low speed and trimmed flight, but still didn't make it.
  19. Ok ladies and gentlemen, thank you all for the help! But Sherlock solved this mystery himself. I had "Game flight mode" toolbox checked, that's why Hind didn't respond properly. I'm sure it's a serious bug, because it shouldn't work this way. In other modules this toolbox basically prevents you from stalling. In Mi-24 module it shuts controls off.
  20. I made a mission to start from runaway. I can see that my stick and collective are moving normally inside the cockpit, but it doesn't affect the helicopter from outside. Flaps, nothing moving. I'm really puzzled. Like there is some total breakdown in controls.

  22. It seems like my engine fails immediately. I used "active pause" and my blades stopped rotating in to minutes.
  23. I know you will hate me and tell to read the manual, but I'm too old, tired and lazy to do that. As a good boy I checked my controls first, assigned and tuned axis, trimmer, collective etc. Made a quick mission (start in the air) and found myself on earth in 3 seconds past mission start. Checked "right-shift" - all axes are moving normally, but it seems that aircraft doesn't respond to controls. What I'm doing wrong, please, tell me.
  24. Update: As I learnt from this Forum, the problem is in the radar. I confirm it. With Radar turned off, FPS returns back to normal. So Mig-21 radar costs about 40 FPS.
