  1. I don't get that view I get a grey camera for line up that's in the deck?
  2. How do you get the LSO platform view?
  3. Great stuff! I'm not good enough myself to grade you on the technical stuff but I did see the sink and power up right at the end :) Nice one.
  4. Yep someone is on it. I can't find the thread. It might be in the wish list bit.
  5. Great stuff. I will use this when the LSO grading mod comes out.
  6. Unable to open.
  7. Even in real life that is regarded as a move done by very experienced, seasoned pilots. I don't know the exact numbers but you did a great job. How did you get that deck cam overlay with the cross etc? I know alt-F9 gets the cam but mine looks nothing like that?
  8. I served in the military 20 years ago. They wouldn’t let me near any weapon system now because of the amount I have forgot. That and my bloated middle age body :)
  9. Good idea. Perhaps post this on the wish list section at the top of this forum.
  10. Changing that amount of descent rate requires a power change not the use of trim. It won’t be a big change but it will get that rate sorted out very quickly. Reading your other posts it sounds to me like you’re over relying on trim. I would setup a simple scenario where you fly an altitude of say 1000 feet at on speed 8.1 degrees with flaps down gear down and practice that. Don’t do anything else until you can get that nailed. Concentrate on holding that altitude first then adjust power then start to trim. In that order. You will soon get a feel for it. I use very small amounts of trim when I have flaps down gear down. Once I’ve used trim to get into that place I don’t need to use it anymore for the rest of the approach it’s all set. Can you send me a track file? Keep at it and good luck.
  11. I am getting better. I also have those fluctuations but the more I rely on getting that on speed 8.1 degree nailed and using that to adjust for small corrections in altitude the better I get. +- 100 feet is about where I am at also. Although on rare occasions, I do get a nice smooth set up and I can really control that nicely. I find if I give myself a bit more room when I catapult off the boat into wind say about a mile or so then make the left hand turn to setup for the 180 I give myself more of a chance. I hope that makes some sort of sense.
  12. Great stuff. Always nice to get insight like this. Much appreciated.
  13. Yep! I agree. I have to do it sometimes but this will inevitably mess up my flow.
  14. Yep the finger lifts are only used to get the throttle to idle. The afterburner has. A slight bump you simply push through.
  15. I know the is way out there in the future with everything that is going on with the Hornet but I would love to see carrier crew ops implemented. Can't wait for the day when a yellow jacket touches the deck and off I go!!
  16. That's exactly what we are all trying to do. I'm getting there now, nailing the numbers in the case 1 but it does take time. I think I trap an OK Pass, one out of ten. Not good but i can feel it now and my memory of where I should be feels more in front of the jet as opposed to fighting it. I also practice getting the on speed 8.1 degrees. This has helped no end. Keep at it :)
  17. Ah, thank you so much!
  18. I know what you mean but 3/4 mile at least we should see it in good conditions and our approach is good with good numbers etc. If not at least have the option to have it so we can see it for training. And "hard to read " is so subjective when you consider all sorts of factors as time of day, location of the Sun, weather.
  19. Now that's a different story. If it can be done and that's not Photoshop that would be great!

    Congrats ED

It truly is a wonderful thing. It's sucking up my life hours big time and I love it. Superb job.
  21. The Ball does work. In fact it works really well. Are using VR? If so it is well known due to the lower resolution that it is hard to see the ball without zooming. Also if the ball is in red is it high or low in relation to the horizontal lights? If so you need to setup correctly on approach. It's very sensitive.

    New callsigns

    +1 Great idea
  23. It doesn't display on the pilots leg. The information is displayed when you bind a key to "kneeboard" in the controls. Very handy tool. If you need more info I will be more than happy to help.
  24. He did this job 20 years ago. He has clearly moved on and done other things. Where as you don't seem to have done so yourself. The way you bated him was rude and quite frankly embarrassing on your behalf. You jumped all over his back. Why couldn't you as an ex serviceman pm him and get some clarification for your piece of mind? I'm an ex serviceman and would gladly respond to an ex military guy with respect and courtesy in all these matters as we do. I'm not going to respond to you publicly anymore because you clearly have an agenda. If you want to continue, pm me and I will gladly have an adult debate with you.
