Luigi Gorgonzola you say the T.Flight Hotas X has a rudder problem. Later you state that you do not see any negative/undesired/unexpected outcome behaviors in FC2 or A-10C. Is it possible your trimming your rudder off center in the Black Shark and are not aware of it? Do you use the orange box? I only ask because I find it odd you are not having similar problems in FC2 and A10-C. Also since you said there are many sticks of similar quality and functionality that are cheaper maybe you can suggest one for our new pilot. I am sure he would appreciate a recommendation.

I see. Well I read many reviews from many websites where people were very happy with the stick. I would not recommend it if I felt it was a bad product. My recommendation was well researched. May I ask what you felt was unsatisfactory about the product?

If I may make a suggestion. Force Feedback to me is a lot better for the Black Shark than a non force feedback stick. It really solves a lot of problems people have with trim. If your going to fly jets more I suppose it does not matter. This is a good beginner stick. It is cheap and will be a good baseline to compare what features your looking for in a future HOTAS purchases. http://www.thrustmaster.com/product.aspx?ProductID=149&PlatformID=5 $34.99 Amazon http://www.amazon.com/Thrustmaster-T-Flight-Hotas-Flight-Playstation-3/dp/B001CXYMFS For that price it is practically disposable (though it is a very high quality stick). So you can trade up to something nicer later when you have more of an idea what you need and not lose much sleep over this purchase. Also note that the stick and throttle DO separate.

Hi Max. I can not help you with the connection problem. I know (or at least I think I know) what the problem is with TrackIR. Your F9 and F12 keys in DCS A-10C and BS2 do.... something. If you go ino the game and clear out those buttons it should fix the problem. I was having the same issue with BS 1. Tell Warhammer and Fang hi.

Has anybody tried to use a NOOK for an ABRIS
ZQuickSilverZ replied to ZQuickSilverZ's topic in DCS: Ka-50 Black Shark
LOL. I guess putting NOOK COLOR in bold lettering was wasted effort. I do appreciate the post and the link though noc orthodontist. Thank you. -
I was wondering if anybody had tried to use a Barnes and Noble NOOK Color for an ABRIS? If you have (and succeeded) can you post step by step instructions on how you did it? Thanks.

Flash and Trash...... I like it. Sir I think you just started a trend.

Hello. I am glad to see a new pilot join us. If I may make a suggestion, don't concentrate on weapons. The main thing you should concentrate on is navigation. Do not just learn the main navigation systems learn the backup systems as well. Seriously. Try to target a squad that offers training. Our squad offers a very high level of training. http://war-hawks.net/private/ We are active to. This is a screenshot of our TS viewer I made right after I read your post.

Hello. I was wondering if you guys could show some things you made in Google Sketchup. I prefer simpit related items but honesly anything would be interesting. Think of this as an online art gallery. I will start. This is a Heading/ Bearing/ Intercept tool I downloaded a while back. I turned it into a 3D tool. I am just a beginner but this program makes it easy. Tell me what you guys think. I know it looks blurry in the pic but in Google Sketchup it is pretty clear. Open these in a new internet tab and enlarge for the best picture.

AMR just filed bankruptcy. Guess I am out of a job now with only 10 years in the company. I noticed they announced the CEO "retired" on the same day they reported the bankruptcy. Some think they did this to get further concessions from the workers. Others think it was in preparation for a merger with US Air. Personally, I think it is just another example of corporate greed (and strategic bankruptcies which our government supposedly passed laws to make more difficult, guess it did not work). I mean honestly, we (the front line workers) make less now than in 2001 while our new CEO got a 40 percent raise just last year (despite the fact we supposedly lost hundereds of millions of dollars). Let's see how many hundereds of millions of dollars management gets in bonuses (you know, like the ones they got in the past eight years for thier great performance:megalol:) six months from now. Apparantly, it is always the workers fault. This golden parachute business really has got to stop. "Off with his job" indeed.

By your logic helicopter pilots should run around wearing a beanie with a propeller on top. :)

Well I thought it was funny. Tough crowd.

I have some questions about X-Plane 9. First off how do you play this thing online? How do you ping servers (I want to be able to bring up a list of servers then just choose one)? Can you share the cockpit like in FSX? How big is the X-Plane online community compared to FSX? When you play on VATSIM with FSX people can you see an X-Plane model representing thier aircraft and vice versa? The X-Plane interface is HORRIBLE. But the gameplay is fun. Thank you. Also as a side note when I eject my X-Plane DVD the thing comes out still spinning. I do not want it to ruin my disc. Anybody else having this problem? It ONLY does this with X-Plane 9. Is there a legitimate way (short of paying for the USB plug) to play this thing without having to have the DVD in the tray?

I don't know Squid to me X-Plane actually looks really good. I am not going to say that it is better than FSX but, I will say the graphics appeal to ME more. The land just seems a lot more organic. Your right about X-Planes interface though. It is HORRIBLE, and thats coming from a fan. I am going to make a thread in the OTHER SIMS area (to keep from going too off topic). Please read it Squid (or other X-Plane users) because I have questions. OK back ON topic (sorry about that). I was thinking about VATSIM. It is my understanding VATSIM makes FSX and X-Plane 9 (two seperate games, two seperate engines) semi online compatible. Would it be possible to do that with say DCS and a Ground Warfare simulator (two seperate games, two seperate engines) using statistical data sharing? The system would look at the kill to death ratio of two or more clans in real time. Then it would auto generate forces based on statistics for the next spawn cycle. This would create a sort of dynamic campaign. You guys think this might be doable or fun? Hows that for a wish (pretty out there right)? -
Thank you PeterP and StrongHarm.

I made this post so I could advertise for ED and help the online community. My thread got hijacked. For shame.

Yes I have. I found the cockpit to be very lacking. I also was not happy with the wind dynamic of the aircraft. I think in real life if your cruising mach 3.2 you should feel it. It should not just cruise along like a cessna. Thank you for the idea though. X-Plane maybe? -
Strapping a Monitor to a Helmet for Immersion
ZQuickSilverZ replied to walker450's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
I live in Tulsa also. Did you hear they are opening Bell's again. That and Casa Bonita /Casa Viva just won't die. It wants to live! It wants to liiiiiiiiive! Oh yeah topic almost forgot. I would like to see printed panels The panels would be sold in Aircraft sets or be sold per panel. These would be printed cardboard with pressure switches and a printed circuit pathway on the back (they can actually print circuit paths on paper these days). The thing would be laminated. The panel could have an (optional) adhesive back so you could just peel and mount on your pit. It would have Micro USB connections with a purpose made powered USB hub with up to 8 connections (I assume most aircraft have more that ONE panel after all). The panels would have numbered buttons and come with software. The same software works for all panels (regardless of set). Imagine having a cheap panel for your A-10C MFD's or a cheap panel for the left lower side of a Blackshark. It would be cheap and fairly durable. Would that be immersive enouph? Naa that could never work. -
I am not trying to be disrespectful but, that seems like a lot of wasted space and wieght behind the mfd's. Have you thought about mounting those things on the side and inlaying a touchscreen (for helios)? Or you could add new switches and buttons. You could just blank where they are mounted now (for cosmetic reason) and that could be the new top or side. I left the front panel on the pic just to show orientation,

ZQuickSilverZ replied to onehitxzibit's topic in Lock On: Flaming Cliffs 1 & 2
I was shooting at a tank one time and it dodged my missile. I do not remember who was playing the tank but he is a big fat dirty cheater. :D:lol: (I dont know why but I am craving something lemon and lime flavored all the sudden......) Or maybe I missed. I can't remember now. What were we talking about again? -

If were going down this WW2 route (though I felt IL2 covered it nicely enouph and I think WW2 has been done to death) I would like to wish for DCS: P-38 Lightning. I have always loved the look of that plane.
