  1. got it. That worked. Thanks.
  2. Can anybody tell me why my TrackIR 5 with pro clip is not active in DCS. I start up the Track IR program and make sure everything is centered and working but when I go into DCS and try use it it's not there. What am I doing wrong?
  3. I don't want to repeat something that's already been started. Has anybody started a thread to show their flight sim setups?
  4. Got it yesterday and hooked it up to the 3.0 USB port. Both TM Cougar set up and the Logitech Extreme running great. One thing though....Amazon site is telling you that you have 2.5 feet of USB cable. That's a lie. You have less than a foot which really disappointed me. Wanted to mount it some where behind my flight control panel where it was out of the way. Now I have it hanging off my laptop every time.
  5. I don't know how Thrustmaster built the Elite Rudder Pedals but they sure built them to last. I've had mine thru 3 different sets of TM controllers since late 90's early 2000's and they are still going strong. Think I will invest into the Rockfire USB adapter and keep them for another decade..lol.
  6. Found the problem. Hate to even say it. I was plugging the old TM Cougar USB and not the Logitech. That's why it didn't show at all. DUHHH!!!:poster_oops:
  7. WOW!!! Ordered it yesterday (Monday). It will be here this Friday by FedEx.
  8. just bought one today. Amazon should have it to me tomorrow. Since I'm going all USB for throttle, joystick and rudder pedals I figured I'd need one. I've tried the controller on both my 2.0 USB ports and my 3.1 port. Nothing. When I go into device manager it doesn't even show the stick exist.
  9. My TM Cougar HOTAS gimbal broke in half on me so I decided to upgrade to the Virpil WarBRD base for my Cougar joystick handle. Since it's coming from oversees (I'm USA) I figure it's going to take at least a couple of weeks. In the meantime I decided to pickup a cheap substitute until my new base comes in. I know I had a Logitech Extreme 3D Pro somewhere in the house but that was years ago and damned if I know where it is. So I picked up another one at the local Best Buy on the way home tonight. Got lucky. They only had one stick left and believe it or not it looked like the only stick they carried and the only one they bothered to have in stock..WTF??!! Box looked new and unopened so I grabbed it. $35 with tax. Anyway brought it home plugged it into my Dell G3 gaming laptop and nothing. Windows doesn't even show the stick in my list of available devices. Switched it from the 3.1 USB port to one of the 2.0 ports and still nothing. Never had a problem with this stick being recognized when I was running it back on Windows 7. Does anybody know why it wouldn't be working?:(
  10. I'm looking at this one as well. Want something that lays flat with all USB connectors on the same face.
  11. DAMN..You guys aren't making my day. I just dropped $250.00 on the WarBRD base to put my Cougar joystick on after one of my gimbals snapped in half. Wanted something that would last a lifetime. Hope I don't have any issues with it.
  12. Already purchased. Came out to exactly $243.11. I would rather pay that for something solid and long lasting than than twice that for a set of controllers (TM Warthog) that I had to worry was going to break on me sooner or later. Damn sure hope it's worth it. Would like to add additional high level controllers to go along with it.
  13. Because I am using a Dell G3 laptop to play off of I obviously don't have a lot of USB ports to work with. It has two 3.0 ports and one 2.1 port. One 3.0 port is always taken up for my Logitech Unifying dongle. Have keyboards and mouse setup in three different locations. Work, home and out of town house for work. I'm in the process of purchasing an up to date flight system which will include stick, throttle and rudder system. Since they all have their own USB plug-ins I will need a multi-port USB to tie them altogether. Looking for opinions on what I should use that's both portable but effective. Not sure how much data transfer flight controllers use. I also just recently purchased a Track IR with Pro Clip that will have to be tied in as well.
  14. Stupid question time: I haven't seen anything in all of the literature or vids on the Virpil WarBRD base where it shows it coming with a USB cord already connected. Like to make sure with these custom jobs. From what I'm understanding the only thing I have to do is put my Cougar joystick on it. It will come with a USB cord attached? Updated: Nevermind. Just saw a Youtube video showing replacing spring assembly and saw USB cord attached.
  15. I can but it's all in EUROS. I was looking for the US Dollar cost.
  16. I saw that. Impressive but Damn!! :shocking: That would probably take me an entire weekend to do and with my luck nothing would fit right. Wouldn't mind if it was just replacing the mechanical parts but you start getting into the electrical and adding contact magnets. It's something I would only want to do as a project stick on the side while I still have my original to use. I JUST WANNA FLY!!! :cry_2:
  17. ohh ok..Everybody keeps talking about dual controllers and sticks that are more sensitive than others I thought maybe people were setting up an additional stick for doing refueling or something. I know my Cougar throttle would have me ramming into the damned plane every time. Hey maybe that can be a new concept. Kind of like when the bombers take control of the aircraft on bombing runs.
  18. What is this "Side Stick" everybody keeps talking about? Never heard that concept before.
  19. Anybody know what the shipping cost would be for the Virpil WarBRD base to the U.S. would be?
  20. Wow that could work. I'm getting ready to build a desk where all my flight controls except the keyboard are mounted onto panels that can lower and slide back inside the desk on drawer slides. It will have a couple of doors that will cover the front so it can't be seen when not in use. My wife's only concession to getting back into this since I moved my office from the back room to the front of the house. I can mount the unused cougar base to the underside of the desk somewhere that it can't be seen or in the way. Got the idea from a guy that built a full blown A10 simulator that folded up into what looked like a old fashioned chest. Lived in a small apartment. https://www.roadtovr.com/diy-vr-cockpit-hidden-flight-simulator/
  21. So after doing some research (Not to mention currency converting) to rebuild my old TM Cougar stick into something better would cost approximately: $187 for VirPil WarBRD base (Put TM Cougar stick on this) $70 +- for FSSB RUSBA adapter for rudder pedals. $80 +- for FSSB TUSBA adapter for the Cougar throttle system for a grand total of around $337. Slightly less the going cost for the TM Warthog at amazon for $412 with prime free shipping. :dunno:
  22. That's a good idea but won't this cause a controller conflict when loading up games? When I have to set up which controller I want to use in the game won't I have to choose one or the other?
  23. Which is better to upgrade my TM Cougar HOTAS with; The Virpil WarBRD base or the FSSB R3 Lighting (If it comes with base) My TM Cougar gimbal recently cracked in half and I'm in need of doing something to get back up and running. Been looking at the Warthog setup but I think I'm just buying into more bad TM quality issues. Plus I'm not really sold on the Warthog system. Have been using my TM Cougar for years and really like it. The TQS throttle has everything right there on the throttle without ever having to take your hand off it. The WarBRD base is definitely cheaper than the FSSB R3 system but which is better?
  24. Does the FSSB R3 Lighting come with it's own base? All the images i see show a different and much thicker base than what normally comes on the lighting.
  25. Do these adapters plug straight into any USB port on the computer? If so do they make one for the Elite Rudder pedals? Update: Yes they do. http://www.realsimulator.com/html/rusba.html
