And please don't hate when dcs servers are red glowing due to traffic we all want it and will get our downloads in as early as we can ...I'll the first to think what you might post but a hot sale always goes like this :). But if we had a million servers we would pay another price ..so live with it please and know the team is bending over backwards to help us all :) I work in an industry where if things goes wrong or we have a sale ..all is is trying ..and a as the guy on the other end ...the more the merrier...cold business and all. If dcs could they would and they dread and are gearing up as much as they can ..trust me :) Downed lines , slow speed etc is bad for business and they know ...so don't flame. It's a cheap shot at best and tells more about you than them ;)

  5. My problem is that if the download goes live during work, I can remote to the machine but not to inside the game .....working on it ;)
  6. In real life it can ferry it but not launch :) or it can but a a major risk. Had the weapon been a drop and motor fire ...maybe but it is motor fire to release ..sim wise we all want to carry as much as we can but there are limits :) Do yourself a favour, if you want to deep dive into f-16 stuff and go to http://www.f-16.net/ And yes found a Danish display jet/scrapped from a picture I took of the "factory plate" :) As a Dane I was fortunate that a sim modelled that jet in sim, so to me, this is a dream coming through sine I saw the ka-50 fidelity from dcs :)
  7. IIRC it is more noticeable in the viper and you have fuel flow on the right side to help you...if it reads 9999 ..you are in burner :)

  9. According to lore/fiction/facts..take you pick ;) It can carry 3 on the rack but firing is another matter. Ferry mission is fine nothing else. Sorry :) In the sim world all is easy and controlled, real world (which we will never get near) is a lot more complex. Not mentioning other games/sims..this question to me is 20 years old and have been debated to death :) I wish we could (including the silent dev) switch focus and have a max thing within the sim , to let me know if i'm at max at least or if I need to explore further. My point is that real aviator will never confirm if we are close to the real thing, so it is all speculation. I love the conversation but hate the back and forth on a subject that will be revealed. Grim reapers is an example of a group taking the sim to the max in funny/scary ways, that is good for the sim and fun but they don't flame, as they know full well what they are working with. some points . Would you as a simmer be able to.... 1. start the jet - yes 2. take off - no ...you have no idea how it behaves in real life. 3. drop bombs - yes but maneuver the jet to the right place ..doubtful. 4. land - never unless you are a real pilot. This sim is not at that level of aero ...yet. We train for 6 hours ..real jet jocks are creme de la creme and only 5% make it...(if we train at all ;) ) What we get in the sim is a really good taste and good fun but I would think some real pilots would have your backside for some of your comments :)and they can't due to real life numbers being secret. So dcs is opening pandora's box without compromising real life. One thing which for years was a big NO was iff modeling, we got that, and being a old flyer of flight sims, that is a gods send. What must be cool, is for real aviator, to see the different tactics pushed. Racing world have embraced the simmer, aviation will follow but not combat aviation, yet ;) The combat pilot IMO will be on the ground within the next ten years, nothing speaks against it :) If dcs inspires just 10 young kids to become pilots great :) I never made the pilot but got inspired big time since year 1998.. The envelope being pushed today ...wish I was a kid again :) Real no but closer than ever before... Sorry to combine many topics :)

  12. I find the logic on the Viper systems easier than the hornet's. It's a race horse, f-5 on steroids :)
  13. Hi :) Some might have been brought up before, but here is my 2 cents. 1. Multiplayer clouds, not synced, maybe one day, as the ww2 flying might be dependent on cloud hiding. 2. Transition of sun position, it jumps and is not linear, my design idea for a mission was...startup of jets and letting ai go takeoff, during the late afternoon. So wanted transition from late afternoon into early evening to night at the end. Looked at the shadow on the mountain on nevada map and pling it jumped, breaking the emersion. Again online play. It might be something for down the road and small things but point 1 is important,as it breaks again emersion. Point 2 is more of a feel thing, easing people into nightops. My idea was that people start all good and used to it and breaks into to night and stuff just got real but at a healthy pace. Just ask race drivers on the transition face of a race. Everybody is happy and hunky dory to dead serious and quiet on the radio :). Overall, what we can do it amazing but not all the way there ..sorry ;) 3. Tacan for all airports, in case people want to navigate, to be blunt just fake it, copy paste and make a different value. Why because we have srs and human awacs and what not...if people want to navigate the prober way let them :). 4. Ok we all cry realism but most of us can not cope with that, p51 comes to mind (u want real ..u got it! ) ;)Of course listen to your customers but carefully ;) And a fine line and nobody is happy ..i know.... tough one. Sum up ...might be my lack of skill in mission building ..not understanding the tool ...granted ..but point 1 and 2 I don't understand. We have all seen other companies taking a wrong approach and sticking to their guns...in this case, it seems there is room for change and improvement. The counter point is "Mace we are working on it , you ungrateful piece of customer" ;) I'll never forget my first time in the ka-50 ..all clickable and a russian detailed airframe...But what I took from that was also the very different approach to the same thing, that the east and west has or had. Blew my mind. To flip the coin ...I know you do your best (dev). Things take time and bugs and stuff ...and yes bosses hate me but somebody has to be the one to say "the emperor does not have any clothes on" ;)

  16. Hi all :) I use teamspeak and when I click multiplayer in dcs and waiting for the server list, teamspeak dies to the point of teamspeak disconnect. My router is an Asus ac87u and In no other high intense network traffic do I get this behavior. My comrades also on teamspeak can talk during the faze of loading multiplayer. I checked the router and it loads a huge amount of connections, once i click multiplayer. It is only dcs that does this and it didn't use to do it. Thing settle down and I can join a server and have srs and teamspeak running no problem, but the first faze just kills my teamspeak. Super weird. Windows firewall is off Router is nat'ed and no conflicting ports with teamspeak (that i know of) dcs ports nat to install machine is 10308 and 5222. I also notice when downloading updates, it opens like 600 connections nad knowing torrents, that is a bit much. Is it my setup ? Is Dcs too aggressive ? Can I configure something ? Other game title with a huge serverlist/multiplayer thing does not behave like dcs. It is like something is conflicting somewhere.... Any idea's :)

    JSOW A TEST

    Two things ... 1. Does the damage modelling need work ? ..oh yes 2. Taking nr.1 into account, I have stopped relying on dcs for damage count. Had it been a follow on mission 90% of the jets would be down and there fuel store gone. Visually, yes 3 hornets 24 jsows and watch it all burn (Grim Reaper style ;) ) I would this was a launch test nothing more, had i gone for visual ...80 fuel truck would have been parked there hehe :). And the one explosion game from a scenery vehicle ;) Great stand off weapon. One tip though...launch in autopilot....don't have mfd button box so holding jet straight and looking down and doing mouse work is a un welcomed challenge. And don't say the game auto trim feature ..that is, to me, cheating :)

  22. trackir is well worth the investment. In fear of getting a mod kill...it works well in other games as well. Get more info on trackir website.
