I think the reason for the crash is obvious: lots of people, vehicles and objects around runway - he must have gotten a terrible framerate hit upon touchdown, stutters and lag and before he knew it, he was on the grass. I must say the fog and dense (volumetric?) clouds didn't really help things either + plus all those spectators around runway taking screenshots by hitting PrntScrn. All in all, considering the circumstances, he made a fine landing, although I'm not quite sure how he managed to leave the cockpit without ejecting?

Does Lockon work with BS2 and A10C online?
Kenan replied to Terminal Meltdown's topic in Lock On: Flaming Cliffs 1 & 2
I just hope they introduce advanced flight model for all FC3 birds. Using rudder while taxing in FC2 feels like ice skating.. :D -
Can't zoom inside cokcpit with TrackIR ON
Kenan replied to Kenan's topic in Lock On: Flaming Cliffs 1 & 2
I was looking at the wrong set of command (Not Axis Commands). You were right, I had TrackIR Z axis assigned and once I deleted it, the problem is gone. Thanks Mustang! :) -
Can't zoom inside cokcpit with TrackIR ON
Kenan replied to Kenan's topic in Lock On: Flaming Cliffs 1 & 2
^^I have nothing inside the TrackIR column (F-15C controls). I had this problem even with X52 (now I moved on to Hotas Wartthog) so I don't think it's stick/profile related. When ingame, minimizing to windows and disabling trackir, the zoom in and out with numpad keys works fine (inside the cockpit). The moment I enable trackir again, the zoom gets "blocked" (with or without trackir Z axis enabled/disabled). -
Can't zoom inside cokcpit with TrackIR ON
Kenan replied to Kenan's topic in Lock On: Flaming Cliffs 1 & 2
^^Actually, I have Z axis for trackir disabled. I still can't (while using trackir ingame) zoom in with num / and num *. It seems to start zooming but it just stops as if being blocked by trackir. When trackir is disabled, the zoom in with above mentioned keys works fine. -
I have this problem only in FC2. When I have my TrackIR ON, the zoom inside cockpit doesn't work. It actually starts zooming in for a split second but the view gets reset..as if TrackIR is being the problem. This happens even with TrackIR Z axis disabled. I don't have this issue in DCS soo..anyone know what could be the problem? Thanks.

Not to open another thread, but is there a TARGET software tutorial for making profiles? I tried playing around with it but encountered some script errors (was trying to set it up for BMS Falcon). Basically, I assign a button and put in a key combo but it doesn't work ingame. Thanks.
-
^^Thanks both of you! :)

Guys, is there some sort of diagram of Warthog HOTAS explaining all the buttons ie. what they do? I'm not talking about "Button XX is TMS Down", I mean for example "Button XX, TMS Down -> Switch MFD displays/Unlock target" etc.? I would like to have one in handy when my HW arrives. :)

Question about TM Warthog profile
Kenan replied to Kenan's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
Could you please elaborate on this? Not sure I understand. :) -
If I load up my DCS A10 with active TARGET profile which will have only ONE custom button assigned (while the rest are unedited/left default), would that make the HOTAS work as usual ingame with only that one specific profile-preset button doing what I want it to do? I was thinking about assigning Gear Horn button to a Wheel brake and leave everything else as it is. I used to do this with X52 and it worked ok, wondering if the principle is the same with TARGET software. Thanks.

Hey, are you Croatian by any chance (refering to your nick)?
-
Since don't use much rudder (except for taxing and landing under windy conditions), I'm just gonna go with the left/right arrow keys. Won't be much of a difference to me as I used HOTAS hat switch for rudder on my soon-to-retire X52. Thanks for all the best wishes and advices! :)

^^Well, on the webpage I made an order from, it says it weighs 6kg. As for dimensions, will gonna have to wait for the box to arrive. If other folks who already have the stick are reading this, you could chim in in regards to the box dimensions? :)
-
Made an order, now the waiting game begins! :D

Thanks for the info guys! I guess I should shift my focus to some different investments..perhaps getting the Thrustmaster Warthog instead..

Athlon II X2 250 2x3ghz 4 gigs of RAM XFX Ati Radeon 4770 512mb How would a 3 monitor set up run on this thing, if at all? For one monitor (21") I use 1280x1024 resolution for my sims. Does my card support 3 monitors? Thx.

It's more like Hollywood action flick rather then a true aviation documentary. Just check the F-15 "cockpit".

Great news, thanks! :)

Man, I could only imagine the impact on the framerate..

We're always looking for pilots. Especially recruits (we always need people to do a SEAD sweep by flying into the area unarmed and with gloving beacons, at night preferably). :D As for what NOB means, we started out in 2004 as a gaming clan (we're soon to have our 8th anniversary in couple of days) playing Wolfenstein: Enemy Territory game (WW2 fps shooter Allies vs Axis) and we chose the "allies" type of name so we called ourselves (and still do as an offical name of our clan), 2. četa 1. bataljona financijske straže "Mrcine" and the NOB stands for Narodnooslobodilačka borba. Today, we're one of the biggest croatian multigaming clans (currently over 60 active members in 7 squads) with many gaming sections (Battlefield3, Battlestar Galactica Online, Armed Assault2/Op. Arrowhead, Counterstrike: Source, Red Orchestra 2, BMS Falcon etc.) and me being a flight sim fan, always wanted to introduce a fighter/bomber squadron into our clan, which did come true some years ago when we started with IL2 (no longer active), Flaming Cliffs2 and now continuing the tradition with DCS. If you have any other questions please free to ask! :)
