  1. Hi, I just flew the second Su-25 single mission that comes with LOMAC, and I noticed that it lacks info about which weapons I'm flying with. It says "Ground01" where the weapons should have been listed :) As I'm not too familiar with the designs of the different weapons, I had to take a screenshot of the exterior of my plane in mid-flight, exit the mission, and look it up in the encyclopedia. Is this info missing in this mission only, or have you guys noticed this in other missions, like campaign missions etc? I haven't flown the campaigns yet, but I will start a Su-25 campaign this coming week, and I hope that it won't be necessary with more of this kind of "research" :D
  2. Is it possible to be a flight-sim enthusiast, and NOT also being hooked on helicopter sims? I'm a fan of both types of simulators, and they offer quite different gameplay experiences. I like the dive down, drop your bombs, and then get the hell out of there approach offered by plane simulator, as well as the sneak, hide behind a hill, and then pop up and release your rockets approach found in a heli-sim. I'm looking forward to Black Shark (and the tutorials) :)
  3. I just ordered a copy directly from Eagle, as their shipping costs were the lowest. Less than $7 isn't that bad. I am really looking forward to having the manual resting on my desk while I'm flying. I have to say that the best part of this manual is the Weapons Delivery part. That is a great help when you want to just go straight ahead with a mission, have a glance at the instructions in the manual, and then do your stuff. It's great not having to rely on my lousy memory! :D
  4. Here's a link to a movie, showing someone trying to take off from the road. It doesn't go that well, I'm afraid :( First there will be some commercial, so wait for it to end, and then the movie clip will start (by the way, this is the homepage of a Norwegian newspaper, if anyone wondered). http://www.vg.no/video/videoplayer/player.hbs?id=2623
  5. Hi again, My experiment was part success and part failure. The thing is that key combinations in LOMAC aren't allowed with the "Program" key as the first key in that key combination. For example, I couldn't register a Program+Home combination. It just registered the Program key, and the edit key window closed itself. However, I turned the table around, and selected a key combination like this, which worked perfectly: Ctrl+Program key for Start Engines, and Shift+Program key for Shut down engines. The only problem I experienced was that on the runway, motors idle, I could shut down my engines, but it seems that I had to wait for my engines to shut down completely before my engines start up key combination did in fact start the engines up again. Don't know if this is a requirement in LOMAC (that engines need to come to a full stop before they can be started up again), but I seem to remember this not to be the case. Don't know if any of you guys can say which alternative is the correct one.
  6. Might as well start a poll asking when people expects the second patch for Black Shark will be released :)
  7. I'm using an x-52, but I also had problems assigning button combinations when the right windows key was involved. I wanted to use a button on the joystick to turn on/off the engines. This is done by pressing the Right Win + Home/End. However, I noticed that in the Saitek profile editor, when I pressed my right Windows key, the program registered it as a "Program" key, instead of "Right Win" key. I'm using a Logitech media keyboard (can't remember the exact name of the keyboard), and upon further examination (me leaning forward and squinting my eyes), I saw that it was correct. I have no right windows key. On the key that is in its place has an image of a drop-down menu. I have never used it for anything before, but I guess it does the same as if you pressed the right mouse button (my guess). I'm at work right now, so I have no chance of testing it. When I get home, I will try to edit the key combination required for engine on/off in lomac options menu. I'll try to set it to Program+Home/End instead of Right Win+Home/End, and see if that does the trick.
  8. Hey Evil, do you know what I would do if I were you? I would write an email to ED and ask for more activation keys right now, so that you have your keys ready the next time you need to reinstall. Then you won't have to wait for 3 weeks for the new keys to arrive in your inbox. Just my two cents :)
  9. Yes, they should really do this. After all, what is the first thing you do when you buy a new game? Well, I always check out the developer'ss/publisher's site, to see if there are any patches that I can download. If there are other people like me in this world (not a very big chance of that :) ), then there are a lot of newcomers that will have trouble with the tutorials from the very beginning.
  10. Mr. Putin would find himself all alone in Hyperlobby :D
  11. Great! This solves the "version" problem for these movies, although the movie file itself is much bigger when rendered as a video. Luckily for me, I have a broadband internet connection, so the file size isn't a big problem for me.
  12. It seems noone knows when it will be out, and SimWare, other online shops, and of course us, the gamers, can only guess at the time of arrival for this add-on. I'm personally enjoying Flaming Cliffs while I'm waiting for BS :)
  13. Hey, I liked this movie, and the camera movement made it kind of raw, which I liked. Nice flying, and of course, a nice choice of aircraft :)
  14. Very good movie, Evil B. Thanks for sharing! The only way that it could have been better, was if it starred Kate Winslet as the pilot (with no helmet on, of course) :D
  15. Here is the link to the page on SimWare that shows the manual. You can see a small image of what it looks like, and the price is 19.99 Euro. It will be ready for purchase on the 20th of February. http://www.simw.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=dsp_product_details&pid=1590 GoGamer doesn't ship internationally, so I cannot order from there. Therefore, I only provide the link to the SimWare site.
  16. Okay, if we buy this carrier... will we still complain about the price of the Black Shark add-on when it is released? :D
  17. My CDR drive still functions after the installation of Flaming Cliffs, so you need not worry about that. I'm still burning CDs and DVDs like there was no tomorrow :) Flaming Cliffs is included together with the original Lock On game in the Gold package. This has been verified from various safe sources, including ED (the developers of the sim and the add-on). Flaming Cliffs is a separate program (in that it is listed separately in the Add or Remove Programs window of the Control Panel), but it cannot run without you already having Lock On installed. Thus, the two MUST be installed on the same drive. I hope you do get hold of a copy of the game (and the add-on), as it would be a darn shame if you didn't :) If you love flight simulators as much as the rest of the people/maniacs (choose your noun) in this forum, then you will really love Lock On. I was a bit slow in getting my copy of Flaming Cliffs (bought it about a month ago), and I'm still hitting myself on the forehead for not getting it sooner :) Happy flying!
  18. Can the Israeli air force really afford a HOTAS Cougar? :D :D
  19. Thanks for all your helpful tips, guys! You were right, I just had to add some deadzone to the roll axis of the joystick, and suddenly, no more Mr. Constantly rolling to the left for me :). I also had to select axis, and not slider for my roll axis, in order to place the deadzone area at the center of the joystick's roll (left to right) axis. If set to slider, the deadzone appears at the beginning (far left) of the axis. Slider is best used with thrust axis (throttle), and the like, because the idle setting for that axis is at the far "down" position (0% engine power), and not at the center of the throttle's position (which is 50% engine power). Ahh, I just had the most relaxing flight in my very own Su-25 (the Russian government gave it to me, honest!), with no sliding to the left. It's incredible how relaxing it can be when everything works as it should. Now I'm looking forward to practicing other aspects of this wonderful flight sim. But first, off to bed. Thanks again to you people for helping me out here! :icon_supe
  20. Hi, I have bought a Saitek X52 joystick and throttle, and while I am flying in Lomac (haven't tried it with any other flight sim yet, my plane is constantly turning to the left. It's not a steep turn, but nevertheless, my plane is turning, and I need to constantly correct the plane. Quite annoying. I don't know if there is something wrong with the joystick or not, but I seem to remember something about hitting some key combination (like Alt-C or something like that) if this situation arose. Am I remembering incorrectly, or does somebody else in here remember this same information? Could this be fixed by adjusting the deadzone (as I have heard mentioned before on this forum)? What are your experiences with the x52? Did it work with Lomac v1.11 correctly, without you having to make some adjustments in Options or somewhere else?
  21. Excellent video!! I love helo sims, and to get both a jet sim and a helo sim in one package is awesome. However, that video made me wonder who was flying the helicopter. Was that some paparazzi journalist following some big celebrity trying to sneak away from the public in a military convoy? Was it Britney Spears in one of those vehicles, screaming at her driver to step on that pedal, step on that damn pedal!!?? :D
  22. Harven, you are referring to the Product key that is to be found on the Downloads page. I wasn't talking about that, but thanks anyway for suggesting it. I ran the program that saved the keys, so I guess I'm safe for now. I bought the game on Saturday the 21st, and I haven't even gotten around to flying yet. Spent all of Saturday downloading the add-on, the movies and textures packs, and the patch. Now I've just downloaded all the tutorials that Ironhand offers on his page, so I guess I'll watch those first, in addition to the ones that comes with the add-on. Before I can fly, I will also have to set up my Saitek X-52 (will I ever get air under my wings?? This is too much work :) )
  23. hi, I finally got around to buying Flaming Cliffs, and the installation went through with less fuzz than I expected. Not a single error message. I clicked Next, next, next, activate, yihaa!, but then I realized that I didn't save my Activation key manually on my computer. I was too eager, and pressed the Activate button before I knew it :) Can I get into trouble since I don't have my activation key at hand, or do I have no reason to worry? I have used the program that takes a backup of the registry keys for FC, so I think I'm all set for reinstallations and such, but I don't know if there will come a day when I may be asked to provide ED or someone with my Activation key... Then I don't know how to get hold of it. Maybe StarForce has stored it in their database? Does anyone know?
  24. Wasn't Mozart 4 when he composed his first classical work? :D
