That sounds strange to me. If you will get everything FC offered in the BS add-on, then many people will just wait for BS to be released, and that means less income for ED. But if your source of information is ED, then maybe this is true after all... But strange it is.

Hasn't the price already been cut in half? :) Maybe you could buy BS without having bought FC, and the only difference will be that you can not fly the Su-25T. Who knows? I seem to remember someone saying that you had to have FC installed before you bought and installed BS, but I'm not sure if that is correct.

I haven't downloaded your tutorials for a while, since I haven't bought Flaming Cliffs yet. Haven't got time to play it right now, anyway. But it is nice to see that you're still pumping them tutorials out to the people, Ironhand. Every one I have watched in the past has been of very hight quality, and I will surely download and watch the more recent ones targeted at version 1.1 and 1.11 when I finally buy FC 1.1. It's been so long since I played LOMAC, that I will probably have to learn how to fly all over again :) Then your tutorials will really come in handy! Keep up the good work!

This was a great movie. Someone commented on the opening scene where you take off from the carrier, and I agree: That was awesome. The music was very good as well. Haven't heard of that group before (The Guano Apes). Googled their name and found the official homepage. The first thing I see is news of them breaking up. :(

Hi, I have just bought a new joystick and throttle, as my last one decided it had served its purpose, and went dead. My new one is the Saitek x52, which was a bargain. That means I have about $35 on my account, waiting to be spent. My problem is, I can't think of anything to spend it on, so I need your help guys. Can you think of anything that costs exactly $35, and which will give me hours of fun, perhaps something I can use together with my new joystick? If you have no suggestions, I believe I will invest in some dental floss worth of $35, or maybe a cool caps with the text "I didn't know how to spend $35." :tongue: :) :tongue:

Sometimes I miss these little game fixes until someone at the forum posts a thread, telling me about it. Wouldn't it be nice if ED added a link on their site which listed these news? They have a news section, but that page doesn't seem to contain this kind of information. What about adding a "Games News" section? If such a link existed, it would take me 2 seconds to check if a patch, fix, terrain, skin or whatever has been added to the game since my last visit.

I agree. I like the price for the download better. $35 isn't too steep, and now that we know that ED will give us more activation keys as needed, I'm really considering buying it. But, a payment system has to be in place, and that's what I'm waiting for now. One thing that made me very sceptical about buying the add-on was that the users were adviced to make copies of their registry keys to make reinstallations of the add-on possible without devoting an activation key to one installation. I mean, advising users to fiddle with the registry wasn't very wise. But now that they have made a registry save/load utility available, we don't have to risk messing up our Windows installation by making a mistake in the registry.

I don't think we will ever run out of activation keys. Didn't you guys read Wags' update yesterday? He said that ED had confirmed that we could contact them for more activation keys if we spent those initial 5. No problem, no extra cost. Perhaps they've also given each customer 15 activation keys because of the recent problems with PayPal, StarForce and so on. That buys them some more time to get the new VeriSign payment system up and running. It seems, customers are devouring those keys like candy on a Saturday night :) I guess ED's customer support department has experienced a busy week, to put it mildly :)

ED recently stated that they are going to launch a VeriSign payment solution soon, so maybe something will be done about that snakey/sneaky certificate... :)

Hi, When I try to log in on the http://www.lockon.ru site, I get a warning that says the following: - The server's name "lockon.ru" does not match the certificate's name "www.lockon.ru". Somebody may be trying to eavesdrop on you. - The certificate for "www.lockon.ru" is signed by the unknown Certificate Authority "Snake Oil CA". It is not possible to verify that this is a valid certificate What does this mean, and who is "Snake Oil CA?" Sounds like a phony name to me (sorry if I am offending someone). Does anyone else get this warning? Did you still choose to accept the certificate?

They haven't lied. They simply haven't provided us with all the information that we as customers need. I believe that we will be able to get more activation keys after we have spent the first 5. After all, the russian customers that buys the CD version aren't limited to these 5 activations. Why should the customers that choose the download option get a product with bigger limitations than the Russian customers? That doesn't make sense, so I believe that it won't be a problem getting more activations than the original 5. BUT, I won't buy the add-on before someone from ED gives me the facts.

I really thought all this information would be available when the game was released. Who am buying something without knowing what they are buying? Would any of you pay $35.000 for a car, and then later on find out that you are in fact only leasing it, and that it will just stop running after you have bought a new exhaust system for the fourth time? I know the comparison between the add-on and a car isn't perfect, but my point is that, unless I know what I'm buying, my Visa card stays where it is (in my wallet). I don't have a PayPal account, so I won't be able to buy the add-on until payment by Visa is possible. Therefore I won't buy it for some days anyway, but I understand that some of you have already payed for it...

I noticed that also. I guess the web-site programmer has done something wrong with an apostrophe somewhere, so that the variables name, "$release_date", is printed instead of the contents of that variable, which probably is still "March." :(

I'm as anxious to see FC published as you are, and this sidetracking is a result of that. Hmm, here I am sidetracking again, but I just have to say this. It's fully understandable. You know, someone made a mod which replaced the guy sitting in the tower with Donald Duck. Imagine having to take orders from Donald in the tower. I guess we are gonna stop complaining about bitching Betty now :D Of course, this is only a joke. Such a mod doesn't exist.
