Lock On: Flaming Cliffs Distribution Option Polling
Greenies replied to Wags's topic in Lock On: Flaming Cliffs 1 & 2
A soundproof solution will take lots of development time away from the add-on itself. It will be interesting to see what ED comes up with in the end. -

Sometimes I think to myself that it's not healthy to be checking in on this forum as often as I do. :D -
Lock On: Flaming Cliffs Distribution Option Polling

There is no solution that is free of dangers, I agree with you there, Dmut. Perhaps this problem of giving access to one's account to a warez-site could be solved by ED demanding that we as users provide our credit card number each time we download the software. I don't think anyone would give away their credit card number to anyone except close family members. What do you think, Dmut, could this be a possible solution? -
Hey, I'm looking forward to an updated version of the manual, and I'm especially looking forward to a detailed look at weapons, radars etc. Found the original manual lacking in many of these aspects. I'm one of those who bought a manual from Nic Cole (http://www.lomac-manual.com), and it would be great if he could produce these extra pages, so that we could order them without having to order a new manual. However, I'm not sure we could fit the new pages into the folder that the manual comes in. It depends on how many new pages there will be. And furthermore, I am not sure about whether Nic Cole will do another version. I don't think he earned very much doing the original, and there is a lot of work related to putting a new one together. Well, that's my personal view of things, of course...

There is a lot of talk about refunds here. I'm sure that before ED make FC available for download, they will tell us the system specifications that they add-on require. If you download the game, and end up unsatisfied with the product, that's life! In Norway, if the product is faulty (i.e. damaged disks), you have the right to get another copy to replace the faulty one. I think you would have to be a close friend to the seller behind the counter if you are to get your money back. Now, in the case of a faulty download (file is corrupt), I'm sure that ED will let us download the add-on as many times as we like. At least, in my opinion, that would be a good solution, don't you people agree? After all, currently, we have to create a login account on their site, and when it is confirmed that we have payed for the add-on, I suppose it wouldn't be too difficult to allow us to download the add-on several times. Imagine a situation when you have payed for and downloaded the add-on, and burned it to a CD. The CD gets a nasty scratch and is unreadable, and Windows crashes and requires a fresh installation. Oh-oh? In such a case it would be a relief to be able to just log into your Lockon-account, and download the add-on once again. -

For me, the solution concerning Visa payment and a download will suffice for me, but I assume that the money transaction will take place over a secure connection. Can you confirm this Matt? I trust you guys, but I don't want to invite other people I don't know to snatch my VISA card number. -
I flew my first flight sim in the eighties. I think it was some game on the good old Commodore 64. Things were pretty simple then. You started the engine, increased your throttle, and withdrew your landing gear when up in the air. To make your debut with Lomac must be pretty tough... :) I agree about the manual being lacking in some areas. Luckily, we have a great community here, with people contributing training missions, and providing help when you ask for it on the forums.

Don't worry, Matt, I don't regard this as a promise. It's just nice to get it confirmed that things are happening (not that I ever doubted that), and that the product is indeed in the finalising stage. I'm looking forward to the release of this one.

Where to get Flaming Cliffs in SE Asia ?
Greenies replied to Sandeep_K_Ram's topic in Lock On: Flaming Cliffs 1 & 2
I hope the delay is not caused by problems (bugs etc.), but by the fact that they are including more and more great stuff :D I have never used PayPal before, but I may have to read about it because of what some of you people who have heard bad things about it, have stated here. -
Re: Feature request: Importing completed missions into edito IMO, this is a great suggestion, Dark_Sceptre. Let's hope the developers have the time and opportunity to make something like this a part of the add-on (they have a tight schedule already, I'm afraid). A feature like this would make for a static, but continuous campaign.

Question for Eagle Dynamics developers

The upcoming 1.1 add-on will contain 3 extra campaigns, with new landscape textures. -
And I also heard that Chizh is a great baker, and sometimes after spending some time in the kitchen he shares his cookies with us fans. Great guy! Hmm, hey, wait a minute! There's something wrong with my brain here... ahh, there is the problem. I had a screw loose. :D

Showing pilot's name in Debriefing in 1.1?

Welcome, Asterix, to this forum, if I am allowed to welcome you here (it's not my forum). Maybe the reason for this is our incompetence... -
Showing pilot's name in Debriefing in 1.1?
Greenies replied to Greenies's topic in Lock On: Flaming Cliffs 1 & 2
. . . Is your pilot alive and on the side that your "Player" aircraft is? The two most common problems with that technique. I realised that I only made a pilot from my country (Norway), and Norway is on the enemy list in the mission that I just flew, so I understand why "Pilot1" was printed in the debriefing. Then I made a Russian pilot, and selected him as the pilot for the mission I was about to fly, but in the debriefing no name was printed. Not even "Pilot1". The text box where the pilot's name is usually printed was just empty. Does this only happen to me, or ...? This is very strange, because before I clicked on the "Fly" button, I saw that the pilot I had selected was mentioned in the briefing. -
That's clever, and good for ED as well. There is a program on TV here in Norway that deals with computer games, and I am thinking about sending them an email, perhaps with a link to a downloadable movie. That would be a effective and very cheap commercial for ED, don't you think?

Details of v1.1 Flaming Cliffs *Updated- 25/11/04*
Greenies replied to Shepski's topic in Lock On: Flaming Cliffs 1 & 2
I agree. And it would be good if the page-navigation for the thread appeared at the bottom as well as at the top of the page. sorry for late reply, Greenies. I suggest you to edit your forum profile and select "subSilver" skin. It looks excellent, it has all buttons in English and finally you shell see a "reply" button and page navigation at the bottom as well as at the top. Hey, the subSilver theme looks even better than the default one, and it has all the functionality that I have come to expect from these forums. Great advice, Dmut! -
Showing pilot's name in Debriefing in 1.1?
Greenies replied to Greenies's topic in Lock On: Flaming Cliffs 1 & 2
You can actually do that in version 1.02? I have created a pilot, and chosen him from the Pilot's menu (on the main menu), but I always get the Pilot1 signature in the debriefing. When I select a mission, I cannot seem to choose another pilot than the default one (in the mission's edit screen). What am I doing wrong? Or perhaps this only works in campaign mode. I have only tried single missions so far. -
Hi, It's not a big thing, and it's not ruining my gaming experience or anything, but it would be nice if the debriefing text showed the pilot's name when all the events of the mission are listed. The way it is now, it only says which type of plane is connected with a certain event (for example Su-25). In missions where there are several flights of Su-25s, I find it a bit tedious that the pilot's name is not mentioned. Wouldn't it be better if the debriefing said something like this: 12:00:35 - Su-25 (Greenies) - etc etc... Instead of the way it is now: 12:00:35 - Su-25 - etc etc...

Is it just me, or has anyone else noticed that November is moving towards December? There are only 6 days left... Will we receive a gift for Christmas or not?

New EXCLUSIVE Flaming cliffs video
Greenies replied to Nate--IRL--'s topic in Lock On: Flaming Cliffs 1 & 2
Re: New EXCLUSIVE Flaming cliffs video You just have to love that advanced physics engine :D -
I remember back in the good old days when I was playing Novalogic's Commanche 3. In one of the missions, I was able to shoot down a Frogfoot (imagine that :) ). I wonder if I will be able to repeat that in Lomac in the future (with the Ka-50).
