  1. Still WIP. See my post above for temp fix :)

    RAF Sabres

    First three available: 3, 66, 92 squadrons.
  3. Yup. In the mean time... First three RAF Sabres available for download. If you are up for the challenge you can unzip the default F-86 cockpit textures in the Mods tree of DCS World (it's stored as a zipped folder). I don't know the full tree by heart but you'll find it. ;) This will give you a folder containing the cockpit textures in the same location as the zipped folder. Keep the zipped version there as a backup. If anything screws up just delete the unzipped folder and you'll have the default cockpit ready for you again. Next: Copy all the files from the RAF Sabre liveries that have "Black" in the title, put them into a temporary folder. Rename them to match the default names, and then you can copy/paste them into the default folder (overwrite). This will give you the full black cockpit. This black cockpit will be the new default for any livery, so if you want the grey one back simply delete the unzipped cockpit texture folder. Let me know if you have any questions :)
  4. Ok, I know I said I'd have this ready but I have to go out of town for a week with work so it will have to wait until I get back :-/
  5. If you prefer the default cockpit, open the description file in the livery folder and delete the following lines: {"F86_Cockpit", 0, "f-86f_cockpit_BLACK", false}, {"F-86F_Texture1", 0 ,"f-86f_cockpit_texture1_BLACK",false}, {"F-86F_Texture2", 0 ,"f-86f_cockpit_texture2_BLACK",false}, {"F-86F_Texture3", 0 ,"f-86f_cockpit_texture3_BLACK",false}, {"F-86F_Texture4", 0 ,"f-86f_cockpit_texture4_BLACK",false}, {"F-86F_Texture5", 0 ,"f-86f_cockpit_texture5_BLACK",false}, {"F-86F_Texture8", 0 ,"f-86f_cockpit_texture8_RCAF",false}, Save and that's it. Should work.
  6. Yeah, nice work! :)
  7. No, that's the issue I was having before. The only way to fix it is to change the default cockpit textures, the livery textures alone can't change everything. The new black cockpit textures I am uploading with the RAF liveries will fix that. IMPORTANT- these black cockpit textures overwrite the default cockpit, so if you want to fly a livery with a grey cockpit you'll have to change them back first. This will all be in the README.

    RAF Sabres

Thanks! I hope to get them out before Monday, I wanted to release the black cockpit textures at the same time because the liveries really look the best with the black 'pit :)

    RAF Sabres

Canadair Sabre F.4 XB929, coded "Q", of No. 130 "Punjab" Squadron, RAF, based at Brüggen, West Germany, circa 1955.
  11. Textures just about finished, see updated pics in OP.

    RAF Sabres

Canadair Sabre F.4 XB632 , coded "R", of No. 71 "Eagle" Squadron, RAF, based at Wildenrath, West Germany, circa 1955.

    RAF Sabres

Canadair Sabre F.4 XB855, coded "H", of No. 66 "Rattlesnake" Squadron, RAF, based at Linton-on-Ouse, circa 1955.

    RAF Sabres

Canadair Sabre F.4 XB998, coded "H", of No. 92 "East India" Squadron, RAF, based at Linton-on-Ouse, England, circa 1955. As this aircraft was U.K. based with Fighter Command, it's under surfaces were finished in "High Speed Silver", with a much lower demarcation between the upper and lower colours.

    RAF Sabres

Templates just about finished. Sabre F.4 XB938, "D" of No. 3 Squadron, RAF, 2nd Tactical Airforce, based at Geilenkirchen, West Germany, circa 1955. Pilots of 3 Squadron wore dyed-black flying suits, and at least one photo shows a green helmet to match the squadron colours.

Progress: Tweaking marking colours, etc. I've solved the black cockpit texture issue I was having, although the fix is a bit more in depth than the usual skin DL, involved changing the default cockpit textures in the Mods directory... still making some minor changes. Note the barber pole markings on the drop tank VNE needle, no pitch markings on the ADI as per the day fighter role.
  17. Prego :)
  18. Ok, finished it (as much as I can...). Known issue - for some reason I can't change the colour of the left and right forward panels from grey to matte black, nothing I've tried works. Everything else is ok, but we'll have to live with certain panels remaining grey. Only thing I can think of is Belsimtek has something in the code that prevents certain textures from being changed, like instrument faces and needles, etc... UPDATE: Solved by putting everything into cockpit folder in MODS folder tree of DCS World, vs. Core Mods, like where Liveries go. This may be the only way to get everything to show in game properly, so I could release it as a stand-alone cockpit mod like SkullLeader's excellent P-51D cockpit textures. Would be an all or nothing mod, not just assigned by livery. See Internal pics below for latest version. Couple of little additions left for me to do. External view: New loop antenna texture added... based on: Black cockpit will be included in all future Canadair Sabre Mk.2 and Mk.4 skins. Mk.5 and Mk.6 used the grey cockpit. Internals, updated as of May 31:
  19. Black cockpit finished, available for download here: http://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/files/1413052/

    RAF Sabres

Yes. Virtual cockpit is done, just have to do the external view cockpit, then I can start cranking them out at speed ;)

    RAF Sabres

Still tweaking the colours but here's the RAF pilot progress... Silver Mk.1A helmet, 1950s vintage blue-grey flying suit, orange Frankenstein life preserver, pearl white kid leather flying gloves... Sabre Mk.4 Pilot's Notes on kneeboard. Might try to add the white doodle board on the right thigh of the flying suit.

Also in the pipeline: Canadair Sabre F.4 XB813 "M" of No. 229 OCU (Operational Conversion Unit)
  23. After the RAF returned their Canadair-built Sabre Mk.4s they were refitted with the 6-3 wing and sold to Italy. Work in progress... Made a new template dedicated to the Mk.4, in order to represent Canadair Sabres that served in other NATO air forces. Canadair Sabre Mk.4 19634 of 4th Stormo, AMI. Stencils re-done to match font from photos provided to me by forum member Vespa. Includes AMI pilot skin with shoulder patches. This particular aircraft has been fitted with a replacement canopy, still in natural metal finish. Also re-working cockpit textures, AMI Sabres had cockpits finished in flat black. This might not end up completely perfect, for some reason some panels refuse to render in anything but the original colour... We shall see.
  24. Won't be long now :)
  25. IDF Sabres Israeli Sabre Mk.6 skin pack updated to latest standard, including new internals, weathering, pilot figure with appropriate squadron insignia and flying gear. Includes three fictional Canadair Sabre skins representing IDF squadrons 105 (Scorpion), 109 (Valley), and 116 (Defenders of the South). ie: Available HERE: http://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/files/828435/
