  1. NEW: 23221 - Centennial In 1967, Canada celebrated it's centennial. Sabre Mk.5 23221 wears a special centennial celebration marking as well as the then new Blaze Orange search markings, and hybrid nationality markings consisting of the old RCAF roundels with the new Canadian flag. Eventually the RCAF roundel was updated to include the same leaf as the national flag. The Sabre was officially retired from RCAF use in late 1968.
  2. 23314 of the Sabre Transition Unit updated here: http://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/files/1432827/
  3. Ha! You found the only one I didn't do yet :) will have to wait til next week when I can get back in front of my computer.
  4. No problem dali, I'm looking at doing a JRV skin soon. Cheers!
  5. Yeah, but now the skins are updated too :)
  6. Gap in right wing you can see background through in above pic. Also, middle of wing where the fence is looks like it's slightly skewed? Light reflects off each side of the seam differently. Both sides.
  7. Looking for guidance re nationality markings - size, placement, colours. How's this?
  8. Glad you like them :) If you or anyone you know has access to any of the surviving Mk.6s on display there's still a few stencils that need translating to Afrikaans :)
  9. Great idea!
  10. Hi Winston, Fernandez' aircraft did have a black cockpit, all F-86s built before late 1953 did. The cockpit colour changed to US Interior Grey thereafter. If you prefer the grey cockpit you could download one of my Portuguese F-86F skins and use those cockpit textures instead, either renaming the grey textures to match the Fernandez ones, or editing the description.lua to use the Portuguese ones. Let me know if you need any help. Cheers!
  11. Hadn't noticed this livery until your last post updated the thread. For the serial and SABRE you can use August T Horvath's RCAF fonts. There's an early and late version (you want the early one), and although not 100% accurate, they're very close. For the Golden Hawks/RCAF near the Hawk's head I eyeballed it, couldn't find a match either, it's those damned serifs ;) If a paint scheme exists that makes a Sabre look ugly, I haven't discovered it yet. Great looking jet. Thanks for your latest template, new weathering layers were just what the doctor ordered :)
  12. Cockpit Textures Replacement cockpit textures for Canadair-built and early F-86F (Fernandez skin) paint schemes available here: https://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/files/1430082/ Added some new details like the "press to test/dim" text on the warning light rims, new flap placards and throttle friction placard on quadrant, cleaned some stuff up, and, of course, added the new parking brake and switch guard text textures (Canadair Sabres had grey/white parking brake handles). Follow the README carefully. Before you choose a skin, think about which cockpit textures (RCAF Grey vs. Black) will match and change the cockpit too before hitting FLY! USAF Fernandez - Black RAF - Black Italy - Black Israel - RCAF Grey RCAF (all, including Golden Hawks) - RCAF Grey (duh) SAAF - RCAF Grey Portugal skins - Default Belsimtek textures :)

  16. RAF Sabre F.4 Skins RAF skins updated... NOTE: Delete the old skin folders before installing the new ones. Folder naming convention may have changed slightly. 18. Well, there are already some nice Luftwaffe skins out there, I could do some but would take a while for me to research them. I have a lot of reference material for the RCAF/RAF, etc., but not much for the GAF. Bilingual stencils are one major nightmare for me ;)
  19. My pleasure :)
  20. Golden Hawks 1960 skin updated here: https://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/files/793979/
  21. Thanks very much NeilWillis, so I'm stuck as a "jewel in the rough" ;)
  22. By the way, thanks for the heads up, I'm only one guy and 'beta' testing takes a while... and I'm only human ;) I should also remind everyone that some liveries will have aluminum drop tanks on a camo bird, this is intentional, based on how the particular aircraft appeared in period photos. RCAF Sabres usually wore the 120 gal tanks as standard equipment so they would usually be painted to match the aircraft camo. Sometimes the 200 gal tanks were bare aluminum, as they were only used for long transit flights, like on the way to and from gunnery camp in Sardinia. Couple more RCAF ones to update and then it's the RAF/AMI/FAP/USAF's turn. :) Will also be updating the cockpit texture pack. There's some more details added that only shine if you overwrite the default cockpit textures.
  23. Awww CRAP. ;) Ok, that looks like it's using the spec file instead of the dif. I'll take a look. EDIT: Fixed it. had a "0" where a "2" should be so it was loading the spec file as a dif, as I thought. Corrected: https://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/files/1412278/ NOTE: I changed the name of the folder to match the naming convention, delete the old folder before updating. Old folder has underscores (ie: 439_RCAF_23513), new one doesn't.

New skin - Sabre Mk.6 23416 of No. 414 (Black Knight) Squadron. Had this one kicking around, thought I'd include it. It's rare to find photos of 414 Sabres during the camo era, not long after the camo paint dried, 414 was sent back to Canada to switch to the all-weather interceptor role with Air Defense Command/NORAD. The tail art plan may have been to add the knight's helm in future but any shots I have of 414 camo Sabres have just a plain white tail flash... Here she is, awaiting approval from ED...
