Eye tracking should be in the new version soon. Once you setup quadviews you won't need FSR etc. Currently on the beta I get 90fps with 200% supersampling on the centre eye tracked area, and downsampling the peripheral with a 4090 7800X3D. Resolution set at 3800x4500 (80% in oxrtk). For your system you may reduce the SS and use quadviews just for FPS purposes, but play around and see what you like. TallyMouse made a tool to help adjust quadviews settings https://reddit.com/r/Pimax/s/twXkSV0A01 54500

Just tested this with the Pimax crystal, binding a joystick button as left click. Currently you do not have to disable the mouse. I push the joystick button, which makes the cursor appear, then I move my head over MFD buttons and push the joystick button it works quite well. Then I moved the mouse and it worked fine to take over, wasn't disabled at all. I think this is quite a nice combo for MFDs & UFCs etc where you don't need to rotate knobs and just need alot of button pushing while flying, saves you from taking the hand off the stick to find the mouse.

Have you guys tried out the "button as left mouse" joystick bind I the UI Layer category? It would remove one step of the process, though I'm not sure if it still relies on actual mouse cursor position which probably still needs to move to the center of the gaze. I'm still setting up DCS on my new computer or I'd try it myself, maybe later.

Nice! Mine should arrive in a day or two. Will be my first time at VR in DCS, though I have tried with IL-2 in the past. I gave up VR because of too many compromises in previous headset and the overhype was a let down. I think the Crystal is the turning point where those that won't compromise on clarity like me can get started. I've got a 5800x3d CPU and selling my 3090 to get a 4090. With MT I can't be bothered changing CPU for a 5% difference because it requires a whole new build (motherboard, ram etc) but the 4090 will help alot. What FPS do people shoot for to get smooth in the crystal? Has anyone posted recommended settings for the crystal with DCS in OpenXR, Nvidia panel, and DCS settings? I'm starting from scratch so would be great to know a good initial setup.

Any news on this? Would like to add my startup procedures into the autostart but can't because it's locked in dll. Same thing for the M2000 The only 2 modules of mine that I can't fix

If DCSFP is the newer version, I'd try and run it with that DCS-Bios in the export. I've used DCSFP this way for the DCSFP CDU integration and both worked. There was a fix for the A10C that I had to merge in though. Unfortunately I can't share because I sold my CDU so now I'm back on the default from MP UFC

Yep, remove it from the main game folder should fix it. That makes it think it's a module needing a license.

Does it go in folder "DCS World OpenBeta\Mods\terrains\Sinai\Kneeboard" ? Kneeboard subfolder is not there, hope it works. -
This can happen if you install the mod into the DCS main game folder, instead of saved games. Did you install manually? The script should see the right folder, but you may need to modify it

2.8 loading textures takes a loooooong time.
TAIPAN_ replied to Das Boot's topic in Game Performance Bugs
Found an issue Windows had caused with my D Drive SSD where DCS is stored. It seems it's an obscure issue with Kingston SSDs that Windows had trouble creating the partition properly. Possibly because it was one of the newer Gen4 SSDs with 4TB space. Solved by re-creating the partition, formatting then installing DCS again. While these certain maps/aircraft are slower than others, the loading time is alot faster. Worth checking. This does not show up in Crystal Disk performance test, but will show up in a normal file copy test looking at performance mb/s in task manager. Should be in the hundreds but was in the tens before the fix. -
For me it works for all planes, since all the UIMask is doing is delineating where your main monitor ends and your MFDs start. Assuming that you never change the resolution when switching planes.

Can we go back to the old flight model for the Huey....
TAIPAN_ replied to StreakerSix's topic in DCS: UH-1H
I think I could only fit that length stick with mounting on the ground, also with my tight simpit it would smash against the front panels and against the seat. I have a seat cutout but it wouldn't be wide enough to prevent it hitting the sides. I guess the real life helicopters wouldn't really need to move the stick in the full range where it would push against the legs except in extreme circumstances, but in the sim I use the same stick for jets so a shorter extension is my compromise. I manage to control it only through alot of practice without curves, and not flying too crazy. We have to live with springs that return to center as well, unless you go with a specialist clutch solution that doesn't suit all aircraft. -
MIP MFD displays don't retain orientation/position settings
TAIPAN_ replied to X-31_VECTOR's topic in Winwing
Yeah this is how it's supposed to work, though you can unplug the hub and have multiple saved configurations. I used to unplug it for working at my desk and it remembered that I wanted my desk monitor as main instead of my simpit. At some stage for me though, it lost the ability to save configuration even if I have it all as per the steps in your post. I gave up on M$, and found software called Display Fusion. It let me save a few favourite layouts, and I assign one in a trigger to load on startup. This was the solution in the end, I had an old license and it was still valid. Not sure what the price is. -

TAIPAN_ replied to X-31_VECTOR's topic in Winwing
Did you guys ever find a solution? I'm on Windows 11 and it was working fine until one day I re-arranged my USB hubs and added a new joystick. Now every reboot or every time I unplug a monitor the displaylink screens revert back to portrait mode. I believe it's nothing to do with Winwing software as it's core windows issue. I just can't figure out how to fix the bug yet. All the Microsoft posts about this just say the usual sfc /scannow and re install drivers efc, which of course does nothing and just means they have no idea. -
2.8 loading textures takes a loooooong time.
TAIPAN_ replied to Das Boot's topic in Game Performance Bugs
F-14 has similar slow times like the Apache, maybe even slower. Though that may be something for Heatblur. However it only really happens in combination with Syria or the newer maps, due to the combo of map textures and aircraft textures. Missions where the slots are on alot of airbases that cause textures to load when you change airbase are prime candidate for producing this, though it is only for the first 5 minutes or so after coming into the server. Once you've loaded everything it seems ok. -
Can we go back to the old flight model for the Huey....
TAIPAN_ replied to StreakerSix's topic in DCS: UH-1H
Thanks, in my case I have a 10cm extension which is half as good as it could be since some use a 20cm. However I'm not able to use curves effectively especially with this Huey because it sometimes needs full forward stick to accelerate in between trimming. That may also be a side effect of the engine model though, but I don't want to go non-linear when I'm using the whole range at least in Y-axis. Maybe I could try in X-axis but I'm so used to it now I probably shouldn't mess with it. -

This is a good mission to reproduce it. I get it bad, with NVME SSDs, 32gb ram, Ryzen X3D CPU, and 3090 with 24gb. I do have a massive monitor and MFD exports, and there are a million other settings that can be tested... but I haven't been able to narrow it down to a single one yet (except the DCS 2.8 upgrade) -
Can we go back to the old flight model for the Huey....
TAIPAN_ replied to StreakerSix's topic in DCS: UH-1H
Thanks makes sense. Regarding the comments some were making about rudder issues and controllability, I've had a chance to get more hours in and noticed it alot as well. Would this stem from incorrect torque due to the power issues? eg for hover check and liftoff you need a huge amount of rudder and have to take off very slow to prevent loss of control and PIOs. For slow speed flight sometimes you can hardly turn left at all and it's just easier to give up and turn right instead. Then when you get fast, the controls end up being very twitchy (feels like modern helicopters with their SAS turned off). Would it be correct to say that all of the control issues stem from the engine performance change and that would be all that's needed to fix them? -

TAIPAN_ replied to StreakerSix's topic in DCS: UH-1H
Thanks, I found that part seems ok ie I can get my cyclic far enough forward though I am a regular trimmer. As for the comments about requiring too much rudder on liftoff, I don't know as I've never flown a Huey in real life. -

TAIPAN_ replied to StreakerSix's topic in DCS: UH-1H
besides the cyclic 100% forward, are you also trimmed forward stick? Also what speed are you flying at? I haven't had mast bump yet but I'm only flying about 140mph which is slightly below the max speed. Wondering how far above the max speed would cause mast bump. Personally the biggest problem of the new flight model for me is the massive fuel consumption -
Does anyone use the multipurpose ufc with the A10 2?

Very awesome kit if you fly multiple aircraft. Can see in my signature link -
I think the integrity check went way overkill, just for one mod. There's so many mods that have been broken now. If they at least put the new shaders/bazar integrity checks under a 4th server option, the server hosts could choose. As it stands some servers (eg Enigmas cold war) had to disable the whole of the "pure client" check just to allow the clear cockpits and spotting mod. Disabling the whole IC leaves it open for exploits, which is surely the opposite of the IC intention.
