Quite..... I will find out if the problems with the original are fixed first then make my decision. Grow up. -
Lock On: Flaming Cliffs Distribution Option Polling
yamangman replied to Wags's topic in Lock On: Flaming Cliffs 1 & 2
Which is why I want further information, don't try to be clever. If it isn't functional on a system where a claim has been made it is, the developers should respect that a refund is necessary. Obviously you can't send back your download. A refund is means reimbursement, not an exchange. -
Lock On: Flaming Cliffs Distribution Option Polling

I can't and won't use PayPal, so anything other than that. I'd like a further degree of information on PRODCUT SUPPORT and the ability to receive a FULL REFUND if the game still dosn't work. -
Anyone know of a fix for this?
yamangman replied to yamangman's topic in Lock On: Flaming Cliffs 1 & 2
I don't use a VIA chipset. Also, it seems another person is having the issue, posted on the UBI forums. http://forums.ubi.com/eve/ubb.x?q=Y&a=tpc&s=400102&f=38610606&m=5441000562&p=2 -
Anyone know of a fix for this?
yamangman replied to yamangman's topic in Lock On: Flaming Cliffs 1 & 2
Supposedly fixed, no one knows for sure. -
It's true, IL-2 cockpits are much more lifelike, LO-MAC's to me seem comepletely 2D. Hardly any representation of depth when looking forward. That said I believe IL-2 has a degree of beliveability unlike any other sim. The cockpit, weather and general atmosphere are a much more compelling and exciting experience.

Talking about eye candy, warning pic included

I've seen pictures like this many times, but I'm always amazed at the degree of flex there are in the wings, just look how they have a harsh bend at the root, and have a tapered bend out to the wing-tip. You may have seen these before -

Another thread with another pilot with the same issue. http://forums.ubi.com/eve/ubb.x?a=tpc&s=400102&f=38610606&m=5441000562 -
There's a large DB of aircraft videos here, might be worthwhile checking out: http://www.flightlevel350.com/ Personally I have tens of hours of airshow footage, I just dont have any space to host.

More Eye-Candy for Lock On: Lighting Effects

I'm sorry if that is the way you interpreted my post D-Scythe, but I can assure it was unfriendly in the least. -
More Eye-Candy for Lock On: Lighting Effects

As far as I can tell, the statements you have made are nonsense. Missions in Ace Combat 5, like the rest of the series, take place at one particular time of day. Textures are manipulated around that to achive their photo realistic effect. Lock-On's terrain lighting is just as, if not more advanced than AC5. I do hate the trees though, sometimes they look pitch black when it's barely twilight. There is an excellent, excellent light modification addon out there, made by Oxyd, unsure where to get it though, use Loman's addon finder. -
To be honest, I would be ten times happier with LO-MAC if it ran as is generally expected on my system.

SERIOUS PROBLEM - Control along pitch axis
yamangman replied to Klopsik206's topic in Lock On: Flaming Cliffs 1 & 2
There is an issue with trimming and force feedback in the 1.02 patch where the aircraft consistantly pitches down at the same rate no matter your speed/trim. You can fix it by going to the \Lock On\Config directory and opening producer.cfg in notepad and changing forcefeedbackenabled = true; to false; This may also alleviate your problem, but i'm making no promises. :) -

Thanks for that, it seems to be working perfectly, I can now play those elusive missions :) Here are the campaigns as individual missions if anyone wants them. http://www.asnn82.dsl.pipex.com/A-10A_Campaign.zip http://www.asnn82.dsl.pipex.com/F-15C_Campaign.zip http://www.asnn82.dsl.pipex.com/Su-25_Campaign.zip http://www.asnn82.dsl.pipex.com/Su-27_Campaign.zip Спасибо! -

I can only find the LOMU utility and that dosn't seem to work. It throws an exception when opening campign files. If you could email the program to me Dmut that would be great. yaman_an{at}h0tmail.c0m Thanks very much :) -
Anyone know of a fix for this?
yamangman replied to yamangman's topic in Lock On: Flaming Cliffs 1 & 2
I know how you mean Dmut, but you will also know how I would feel - as a customer - if I bought flaming cliffs and the game still ceased to work so spectacularly. Here is an idea though. It just seems to be any campaign, attemping any mission other than the first, that causes this crash. Can the developers or members of the community provide the campaigns as individual missions, therefore relieveing the immediate issue? If this has been done already can you point me to where I can download it from? If not, can the devs/mods/community instruct me how to do this? Thanks very much. -

Clearly this is a bug, are the developers/have the developers looking/looked into this? -

Well, I thought the problem was solved, but apparantly not. After a complete reformat, and with just Lock On installed with other essential files (chipset/video/sp2/J2RE/Joystick) I managed to play the first mission of each of the four campaigns, but the game just now crashed with the same error on the launch of the second A-10 campaign during loading. -

I think I have fixed it, it was definately a problem with my CPP runtime on my system. I'm surprised that so many have the same problem though, it must be a Windows issue. -

Ah no, that's not what I meant Dmut, but thank you for your suggestions. You said originally that this does not happen in 1.1, but now it seems it may very well happen. I posted a link in a post on the first page of this thread that shows that many people suffer from this problem. -

Are you 100% certain this is fixed in 1.1 then? -
Then, i'm just an SSAD methodologist, what do I know :).

I think it's concepts provide an immense learning experience above and beyond the language itself. You see inheritance in all modern mobile and net technologies.
-
Yes I think so. Being adept in OOP and its concepts and methodologies is by far the best grounding in the world of programming in comparison to other contemporary languages. Hoenst, i'm not trying to wind you guys up :D
