Actually, there is a performance increase, you have to turn on Catalyst AI, in the CCC. It is nowhere near a 50% increase though, and makes no difference on overcast clouds (the original article didn't mention overcast cluods, it refers to the volumetric scattered cumulous clouds). I get about an extra 4 fps is normal and good weather, no change in overcast.

No change, same diabolical frame rates.

It isn't bullshit, and yes it is entirely automated. -
OT: Anyone want a Gmail account?
yamangman replied to rekoal's topic in Lock On: Flaming Cliffs 1 & 2
It's probably due to the fact Google indexes the content of outgoing and incoming mails, type, text, pictures, the lot, and leaves some questions as to what could possibly be done with the data they gather. Read the small print. -
Do you know how accurate this is? Can you estimate the degree of innacuracy there is a model it in your next flight sim?

ForceFeedback STILL causes bugs on my system with Saitek Cyborg Force stick. The aircraft nose CONSTANTLY pitches down regardless of altitude/speed, and trim DOES NOT work. Turning off force feedbeck in the config file fixes this. There was NO such issue in ver 1.0. The game STILL crashes to desktop with an exception in the msvcrt.dll file at indeterminate times throughout the game. This can be fixed by including a duplicate of the file lockon.exe named "lockon.exe.local" in the games root directory. I had NO such problem with ver 1.0.
-
No it's not. Yes the bug is still there, it even does it with the 1.1 demo. The fix is as follows: Make a copy of "LockOn.exe", rename that file "LockOn.exe.local" and leave it in the root Lock On directory. Launch the game as normal. ED TEAM (Han) PLEASE TAKE NOTE OF THIS FIX.

Official word from Developers regarding release of 1.1
yamangman replied to BIOLOG's topic in Lock On: Flaming Cliffs 1 & 2
I'd have to disagree, bad project management and design throws issues at software developers. Nothing else. -
The dialog isn't the thing that bothers me, it is this...... E = ca@snakeoil.dom CN = Snake Oil CA OU = Certificate Authority O = Snake Oil, Ltd L = Snake Town ST = Snake Desert C = XY It's quite clearly completely fictional, Eagle trying to cut corners?

I doubt i'll be buying it, it's enough trouble to get hold of as it is without the addition of invasive and cubersome copy-protection systems. Ultimately this type of system ONLY affects and alienates the PAYING customer. This is not somthing I wish to support, esp. given the level of flaws still present in this title so far into into its PLC.

Last time I used Lomu, it just didnt parse files correctly. Instead, use this utility: cmp2mis

Wonder if they can take a peek at the forcefeedbackenabled = constant droppping of the nose bug (it worked perfectly in v1.0), and the msvcrt.dll runtime bug. -

There is a tool to remove it on the starforce website -
LOMAC v1.1 copy protection – good news/bad news
yamangman replied to Bogun's topic in Lock On: Flaming Cliffs 1 & 2
Less than impressed with the new fetaures i've seen so far anyway. If it becomes a title which requires me to frustrate over to get it to work, it's not entertainment. I have various PC's I want it installed on, and I change configurations frequently. No such copy protection or I'm afraid I won't buy it. -
Are the developers making the original 25/27/15/10 missions, campaigns and tracks compatible with v 1.1?

FAO msvcrt.dll sufferers - Found a fix
yamangman replied to yamangman's topic in Lock On: Flaming Cliffs 1 & 2
That's it, give the A-10 campaign a try again. -
You could try my solution in the other thread, which also worked for me, i've actually completed the A-10 campaign without an error. Actually I enourage people to use this fix, it is easier and more effective then my method. Nice one coldcrew. Also xylem, could your sig be any bigger or any more pointless?

FAO msvcrt.dll sufferers - Found a fix
yamangman replied to yamangman's topic in Lock On: Flaming Cliffs 1 & 2
It's an 'update', rather a change to the MS Visual C++ runtime libraries. You need to extract the archive with WinRAR. http://www.rarlab.com/ -
I have found a fix for the guys who get the no progress in campaigns bug, with msvcrt.dll crashes. Download this RAR archive, extract it and run setup.exe. Click through the install and restart your system. http://www.asnn82.dsl.pipex.com/ms_library_fix.rar Although it is intended for Win 98 and NT, it will NOT adversly affect your system, generally XP SP2. The fix is 100% succesful for me, please respond in this thread if it is not successful for you and ill see if I can come up with anything.
