  1. Multiprocessor systems (dual and quad) will make that 'Physx' card redundant soon enough when they are used effectively, and core 2 will force parts from both AMD and Intel to make them cost effective solutions very soon. And I imagine the new Havok technology will suffer from the same redundancy. All though it's an appreciably 'clever' means of performing additional calculation on modern machines. I understand various distributed computing software like UD and seti may take advantage of unused GPU cycles soon. As for physics search the web for the 'Alan Wake' tech demo recently shown at Intel IDF. http://www.google.co.uk/search?hl=en&safe=off&q=alan+wake+tech+demo+IDF&btnG=Search&meta=
  2. Yea I get that too, makes me feel sea sick.
  3. Rich man what a pity. I'm sure he forced your hand into using Windows. Why contribute to his fortune if you are so adverse to his wealth? Talk about driving a thread right off topic. Personally, I would try the tested 'wait and see' approach before adopting Vista. For me ultimately it is not a necessary upgrade, and you can wait for the hardware, drivers, support and documentation to catch up before switching, not to mention research its caveats, whilst waiting for the initial bugs to be iron'd out.
  4. The plane dissapears. Definately fake.
  5. Don't be too hasty though. Watch this video review first: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tcW3hbnR2EI
  6. ? All new high-end GPU's require a seperate power source - not just nVidia - and X1900 series cards are much hotter than comparative nVidia-based parts.
  7. Didn't Maurits Escher come from Leeuwarden? Nice video thanks for sharing.
  8. You mean 10 - 15 years of displays... then to Duxford.

  10. True, but there isn't a big Virgin sign down the side of Sally B when Branson sponsored it when it's future was in doubt.
  11. Surprised they can't pick up a million quid from some enterprising entrepreneur. http://www.tvoc.co.uk/index2.php
  12. Know a guy who does some excellent models, he has some example pictures on the web....
  13. Here's a suggestion: create a new file in the lomac root directory named lockon.exe.local (make sure the file extension is .local i.e. you have filename extensions turned on in explorer). Launch lockon in the usual way (you may get an error or two when the program starts).
  14. You ought to think twice before plundering images off the internet without a thought for copyright ownership.
  15. Rossi thanks for posting can I ask what kind of camera and lenses you were using? And check here, as ever, for some really nice airshow photos: http://www.ukar.co.uk/cgi-bin/ukarboard/ikonboard.cgi?;act=SF;f=10
  16. Yea, only the MiG-29 OVT :)
  17. Well, I won't bother to delve into your innacuracies and assumptions as that usally leads to a tirade of nonsense on forums. I can respect your opinion, but I can assure you that you are utterly wrong, and your vitriolic comments are as out of line as my supposed 'trolling', which I would label nothing but forthrightness.
  18. I wouldn't usually reply to such nonsense, but I made just a simple comment. The above words have been stuffed down my throat and somehow spun into a matter of race. I was commenting on the football. Pilotasso has so very valid comments about the media however, and I would like to add I pay little or no attention to the vast rubbish most publish. IguanaKing on the other hand I would suggest that it is your neuroses alone that have led to your opinion of me.
  19. After the shameful displays by some of the Portuguese players through the tournament it would have been a travesty for them to even come third. Congratulations Germany, I was really pleased to see them do well and have been backing them throughout the tournament, for such a young team they deserve the top spot.
  20. Always a good display is the RAF Chinook: http://www.patricksaviation.com/videos/Guest/79/
  21. They used to be stationed at a couple of bases, but the Marham squadron will disband in July (15th I think). Why not use Typhoon? It's a fair bet the Typhoon can't make it to the kind of altitude and the kind of range the PR.9 has.
  22. In all honesty every USAF display I've ever seen has been really quite dull, from F-15, Thunderbirds and Superhornet. The Thunderbirds in particular were incredibly conservative. Although once did see a demonstration by a bunch of MH-53 and C-130 that was very good.
  23. Yea I know that, but it's the best nearest short description as i'm not overly-anal.
  24. That's exactly what mine has zaelu, minus the FX :) Tried getting IL2 to work in WINE on Slackware, got pretty far but not quite far enough. Would load up a map and then crash. I'd guess i'd have more luck with cedega but it really isn't in my interest to try. I've never tried emulating lock on, it barely works on it's native platform :)
  25. Seen plenty of B-52's, I concede they can fly low (like pretty much any plane). But that picture is fake.
