It's better to reach out to a wider audience. As you can see, ED is trying to appeal both to the casual flight simmer, and the hard-core flight simmer. I think they're doing ok so far. It just takes time.

Anyway, the chart was a big surprise to many. The suspected most deadly missiles ended up on the middle of the rank chart. But all in all they are not too far off from each other, which raises the question is the players habits, the problems in the code or both?

Yes.DCS is fine begining of new era of combat flight simulations.And DCS of ww2 figter is nice move.In the same time you offer high % of realism + profit for development others DCS,les profitable.BUT,are you going to be so good to take over IL-2 players? I hoppe you will.

BUT,again,as you said you have to stay in the bussines.Thats true,and that something what we,combat fligt simulations lovers hate to hear.

As you said,we have to wait.I am now 35 years old.Hoppe in 50-ties will have chanse to by good flight combat simulation.

 

Maby to collect donations and organize an non-profitable company to create good flight simulation?:pilotfly:

You already have good flight combat simulation, you don't need to wait. If you're waiting on a specific aircraft, that's different ... but perhaps it isn't too much longer before other interesting things start happening.

If I fly 1000 km/h,and can make turn in 180 degrese inside 1-2 km and 3 seconds,keeping that speed,thats not good flight simulation.

Please show me what does this, even in FC. I'd like to know, because Yo-Yo specifically tuned aircraft to match energy and turn rates as close to the real deal as possible.

 

If I fly 1000 km/h,and can make turn in 180 degrese inside 1-2 km and 3 seconds,keeping that speed,thats not good flight simulation.

I assume he meant games like HAWX.

 

Slightly OT but 2012 is looking like a good year for flight simmers.

Here's an update of that plot using over 2 years of data. Bit insane that some missiles were fired almost 30000 times over that period of time.

Simply,enter on the server of the 51-sqd and fight agains your dear F15,and you will see.

Have you notice how easy is to land the plane at FC?

FC 1.12 had error with R27ET missile.FC 2.0 has with F 15.I think its not hard to fix.You did great youb with FC,but same as windows.Its good,but have some small bugs,the ones wich the most unnerves you.God game,good job with ground units,excelent mission editor,but please,FINISH THE GAME!

 

Some small pyisics push to the reality would satesfide everbody,and you dont lose players.Still wont be high realism,but it will be good start.

No, I will not. Simply stop making statements that are untrue. We tested all aircraft so that they comply with real turn rate and energy charts as much as possible. You are simply wrong to imply that the F-15 turns better than it should. We spent hours and hours and HOURS testing this. You had better provide very concrete proof in the manner of turn rate of FC plane vs. turn rate of real plane, or not complain.

 

There was an error with F-15C thrust before the last FC2 patch, which made the F-15 turn too well at very slow speed (less than M0.4), but again, that is currently fixed and not a problem in FC2.

 

I suggest that your air combat skills are simply poor.

Right, again, I'm not convinced that this is within the realm of possibility. I'll explain why I think so - the caveat, I might be incorrect.

 

The SFM is essentially a point force model. You only apply force to a single point.

 

Compare with the A-10C: Multiple points of force application (Each wing for example is divided into multiple sections).

 

You can simulate a more realistic stall with A-10C because you can simulate airflow/force application to different parts of the fuselage. Same with Su-25T.

 

It should be pretty obvious that you cannot do the same thing with a point model, so the stall, and stall entry must be scripted.

 

Having said that, perhaps the stall script could be made to present things in a more interesting manner - maybe that's what you were trying to say, I don't know :)

Totally understand, and yeah that's what I was trying to say. If it were able to be made to look better, scripted or not, that would be a plus. Right now, if you do say a tailslide, the nose falls and hits an invisible wall while the plane flutters like a leaf for about 10 seconds while the nose slowly creeps back down. If it could be scripted to look better, cool, if not, well...meh. :)

Unfortunately I think some behaviors will be very much a victim of the SFM. I would expect that for the most part, a tail-slide would be of them. But, again, maybe a solution exists. Certainly you shouldn't attempt tail-sliding an F-15, you'll end up a falling leaf, AFAIK :D

Then again, technically I don't really use FC2 for what it was intended for. :P
