Silver_Dragon Posted June 11, 2012 Posted June 11, 2012 Some friend make that questions and I put them on the forum to found a final answer. can explain to a BS-1 player the diferences and others news features of BS-2 and future upgrades with dcs:world? Cali Posted June 11, 2012 Posted June 11, 2012 It takes BS and puts it into the A-10C world. So what A-10C has, BS 2 has. i7-4820k @ 3.7, Windows 7 64-bit, 16GB 1866mhz EVGA GTX 970 2GB, 256GB SSD, 500GB WD, TM Warthog, TM Cougar MFD's, Saitek Combat Pedals, TrackIR 5, G15 keyboard, 55" 4K LED
JG14_Smil Posted June 11, 2012 Posted June 11, 2012 Even if it didn't do what Cali said, it still fixes some major bugs like multi monitor menus and night vision that were real show stoppers in 1.01-2 and that makes it worth it over the original BS1. I sure miss the FPS though.
BigfootMSR Posted June 12, 2012 Posted June 12, 2012 (edited) The textures are also much higher resolution and looks a LOT better. You can see a good list of the changes they made here http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=81117 Edit: Another thing to keep in mind, as the sim advances and new things are introduced or upgraded via DCS: World, BS1 will not be. BS2 and all aircraft will be integrated into DCS:world and no longer a standalone product. BS2 can be flown in the same mission as a person flying an A10, P51, or any other new air craft that will be coming soon. STP Dragon Posted June 12, 2012 Posted June 12, 2012 The new A.I. makes BS2 to a new game. The behaviour of convoys is much better than in BS1. E.g. they will dispersal under fire and popp smoke. Ground units can drive through small rivers now and try to find new ways across a destroyed bridge. ... there are so many little thinks you will notice day by day. Suchacz Posted June 12, 2012 Posted June 12, 2012 Excuse me guys, but I don't care about AI, I don't care about textures. The most important thing for me is the feeling of flight. In this case, BS1 is better than BS2. It's possibly the matter of FPS, because in BS1 I'm getting 30+, mostly 40-50, but in BS2, I'm getting only around 15-20, sometimes 30, but very often. ...and for heli handling high FPS is crucial, it's the matter of life and death :smilewink: Per aspera ad astra! Though I do understand what you are saying about fps drop.
P1KW Posted June 16, 2012 Posted June 16, 2012 In BS1 trims well. In BS2 the trimmer does not work well. In BS2 in DCSW returns to work well. The FM is different in all three. In BS1 the helicopter has more inertia than DCSW: BS2. In BS2 the pitch axis is more nervous. DCSW: BS2 is more rigid, more artificial in my opinion, although I have never flown a Ka-50. Greetings! Erforce Posted June 16, 2012 Posted June 16, 2012 Despite all the «*bugs*» i’ve seen on this forum since BS2 realease which made me fleeing for an internet spaceships game for some time (Trimmer, Shkval, X52Pro...) i never experienced any of those since i got back playing 2 weeks ago. For what i remember of BS1 was : BS1 Engines/rotor sound were some kind of better (and less true maybe) than BS2 BS1 powerlines are wires. in BS2, powerlines are so big that even you NVG car spot them miles away. BS1 textures are poorer (Mi-8 is a bunch of flying pixels), but your CPU will love it (so your FPS rate) BS1 left me a feeling of having never flown a Ka50 when i first took command in BS2. (insta crash OMG) BS2 has carrier operation (at a limited rate though) but you can make mission with take-off & land from ships. BS2 Mission editor has a «*OR*», «*AGL above ground level*» arguments and so more, which make our life easier when designing. BS2 Night Vision Goggles can make you blind if you don’t know how to use it properly (like IRL) BS2 is compatible with DCSWorld, which will be compatible with combined arms. and now not sure for BS2 only, maybe it was implemented in DCSWorld : Radiooooo ! in mission editor, throw a comm tower anywhere, find a looong playlist, assign your playlist to this tower with 1Watt power, check the loop option and there you go ! Fusion 127.3FM All night long ! You have so much options in BS2/DCSWorld that no one has yet made something other than : Take Off, shoot, land, you won. I'm sure there was a Radio Maykop in the early versions of BS1, but that was removed by patch 1.0.2 and I've never heard of it in BS2 The world is going mad. Me? Erforce Posted June 16, 2012 Posted June 16, 2012 Yep, affirmative! You can create a .wav file and assign it on a unit, or trigger zone. With loop option, desired power (White noise on mountains) ans frequency. Now open finalcutpro and make good chat between awacs and BLUFOR! Devrim Posted June 26, 2012 Posted June 26, 2012 Hi Erforce. Actually I did't know that's possible or not. By clicking "New Static Object", I throw a "Comm. Center" or "Comms Tower M" near the airport. But there're only "Heading", "Hidden" and "Dead" checkboxes about the item. I didn't understand how to assing wav file on it or set its power etc.? Could you please help? Thank you. Erforce Posted June 27, 2012 Posted June 27, 2012 (edited) Sure, it's a trigger. easier and more controllable. But i saw some whinings in DCS thread already, don't know why. it's a cool feature. 1 image explains 1000 words : PS : 107.7FM is usually the Radio Traffic in my country. Maybe i will listen to it in DCS Combined Arms :D EDIT : sorry the pict below has an error. Radio Beacon Unit only works on radio-capable unit, like the Ka-50. it will emit until destroyed or deactivated. Radio Beacon Zone work in a trigger zone placed anywhere. for a comm radio tower, you must create a trigger zone with this last option. sorry for that :) Edited June 29, 2012 by Erforce radio zone infos TASK / ROLES acronyms guide Black Shark A.I. datalink guide illustrated (v1.2.4 Available on Wiki) DCS World Codex 1.1 : full units list (Speed/Weapons/Armor thickness/Threat zone/Weapon damage...)
