My solution was:

Deinstalled everything,

deleted user\DCS

installed DCS-World into another directory \DCS World120 (still on the same disk)

installed CA (worked)

installed A-10C (worked)

installed BS2 (worked)

installed P-51D (worked)

eventually the workaround is to install CA as the first module and then the rest!!??

I belive the trick is to name the installationfolder anything but "DCS World" if you don´t want to install to the default directory.

I tried the install into the default and it worked fine. After copying the whole "DCS World" folder to another drive the mentioned issue occurred. Renaming that folder to "DCS World 120" solved the problem.

At least on my computer it has nothing to do with the type of drive, may it be HDD or SSD, RAID or not.

It´s simply the name of the DCS World folder.

Installed on my SSD, i just renamed my install folder from:-

E:\DCS World

to

E:\DCS World120

Works fine now :)

After reading this thread I decided to solve this problem like this and it worked:

- rename the folder (DCS World 1.2 in my case)

- change shortcuts accordingly

- change registry keys accordingly

Registry keys changed in:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Uninstall\DCS World_is1

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Eagle Dynamics\DCS World

... including sub keys of course.

As far as I have seen it, this problem occurs when DCS World is not installed in the default path, but still called "DCS World" in combination with the CA plugin.

Also had the problem. I deleted the saved games and then renamed the directory to 'dcs world12-' and changed the shortcut. That worked but seeing there are registries etc I will reinstall again and just change the install directory to a different name.

I had same issue after installing CA (I installed DCS World in "C:\DCS World" directory) and using same procedure as above (renamed directory to "C:\DCS World Install" and updating shortcuts and registries, and it now works fine

I don't understand what changing the name of the DCS World folder does? I have posted about my issue here http://forum.lockon.ru/showthread.php?p=1505481#post1505481 and none of this works.

Shit, I both today DCS -CA installed on DCS World and voilà crash and crash.

I would like to ask, how this company have the face to take USD 29.95 for something that not works correctly ?

This makes me very sad and also the solution: delete files reinstall files wtf is this, do I pay for something that kills my functioning and paid softwares?

Refund my money would be the right way till DCS can produce an user friendly working product.

^^^ It's not that bad, yes there is a glitch but you don't have to uninstall/reinstall anything, read few posts before and you'll see all you have to do is rename installation folder and update shortcuts and registry keys (takes about 5min)

Nice, rename folders and update shortcuts and registry keys !!! Mate this is the total wrong, why this software can't work in the right way, do we live in windows 3.1 times?

Sorry but I am very pissed about this, I hate to pay for an application and after I realize that whole thing is not working in the right way.

But is my misstake, never buy pre-order beta things and read before buy the forums.

I am deleting now all DCS applications, I will re-install my Black Shark with out DCS World and DCS CA (wast of time and money for me)

better take a break, grab a coffee and 10min later you will feel better. It's not the end of the world, but really if you installed into default directory this glitch would not happen... is it so hard to take few minutes to rename folder and update registry keys?

PS: you should have good reason be so pissed off only if it didn't work and there was no fix/workaround for it, but there is and surelt it'll be fixed in next update ;)

here's follow this:

Step 1: rename the folder (you can rename to anything you want)

Step 2: change shortcuts accordingly (right click to modify and update directory location)

Step 3: type regedit in windows start menu to open registry

Step 4: change registry keys accordingly (same as above, right click to modify, see below locations in registry you need to update)

Registry keys locations:

Location 1: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\Curr entVersion\Uninstall\DCS World_is1

Location 2: HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Eagle Dynamics\DCS World (include sub keys)

crash with no obvious raisons

It is very strange!

Since installing 1.2.0, I could make a multiplayer flight..

But since with no obvious reason, and apparently without particular trigger, the game runs a while and then crash with message DCS world has stopped working.

Nothing has changed my config since my last flights with DCS A10C and DS World 1.1.2

So I completely uninstall World.

deleted the folder User / saved game / DCS

made a thorough cleaning of my PC

cleaned the registry

defragmented the hard drive

verified directX

reinstalled Microsoft Visual C + + 2010 Redistributable Package (x64)

Reinstalled in the default directories

No Joy...

I also tried in directories in different partitions ...

I also read in the forum that some has found a solution by changing the directory names and correcting the registry to make it consistent with the new paths.

still no result ....

I also lowered the graphics options ...

Same thing...

I was flying earlier with DCS and DCS A-10C World, HIGH graphics options, without encountering any problems, with the same configuration.

I'm in windowed mode.

My config:

Windows 7 64bit Service Pack 1

I7 3400 Mhz

8 GB DDR3 667 mhz

Radeon HD 6850 1024 MB

Drivers up to date

.

For now I'm out of ideas... :(

It a writting mistake : I was meanning 8 GB.

here is the crash log :

That looks like a video crash log. Have you tried turning off some features in that card?

also make sure your not running in-game aero is not checked.,

Turn off TSAA any thing that might suxs some ram from your on board. I have found that 8GB wasn't enough, ever-since I put in 24GB I haven't had an issue.

make sure your in native video settings for your monitor.

FXAA is also off,

cockpit should be 512 steady

I think, I found what was wrong.

It seems that the initialization files of the viewports produce the crash.

But I do not know why, suddenly these files create problem.

Before they was working perfectly. And the display was done correctly even in the crashed sessions.
