From a Samuray channel video, Nick Grey has put some interesting info about DCS develop:

From this moment on, we understood that we needed to make some radical changes and we decided to focus on the following non module related components:

- a new rendergraph engine

- new world and world simulation engine

- new graphics mutithreading

- new weather

- new campaign engine

- new sound engine

- new multiplayer code

- new coms engine

- new damage modelling engine

- new AI

- new effects

- and much more.

Some of these will be seeing the light of day this year and others in 21

On last Wags video on Damascus Syria map, he talk about a " and Apache some day"

Wags talk about Modelized crops on Syria map.

New autoupdater Update:

Version 2.10.0:

- Improved HTTP downloader. Easier Better Faster Stronger!

- IMPORTANT: Cleaning download folder deletes everything that is not needed!

- Improved downloads cleanup request. Now you can see what will be deleted

and from where.

- Settings dialog now ensures that custom download folder is empty.

Please, do not edit autoupdate_settings.cfg manually.

Or you may shoot yourself in the foot.

Use: 'DCS_updater.exe settings'. Though, it is not needed normally.

Take care!

- Increased maximum supported file path length from 260 to 4096 chars.

NOTE: if you really need this, it actually requires Windows 10 (Version 1607)

or higher AND opt-in by using a registry key change.

Otherwise file paths longer than 260 chars will cause

problems because of the Windows API limitations.

Autoupdater Update

Version 2.10.1:

- More carefully clean the download folder, just in case it points to

a useful folder or even to a drive root (as it was in one real case).

Still, custom download folder is a dangerous tool and even with this fix,

IF your download folder points to a place with your files, they

may still be overwritten if their names happen to match files from DCS.

Use the setting with great care, if you really need it, and set the download

folder to the location you will never use to store your valuables.

-Multi+Threathing and engine overhaul on 2021. Clarification needed on this.

- ED posiblity doing a Mig-29A Fulcrum A module at DCS level. Other russian modules has not permitted (probability to modern / on service) - Is there ANY news of of current Russian 3D AI assets to be remodeled as the Su-30 looks out of place with its outdated model?

Also what will happen to the FC3 Mig 29A which we already have if the clickable version is planned?

- RTX has planned to DCS engine - Do you mean ray-tracing?

Russian / Soviet AI assets will be remodeled with internal / external 3D modeling teams get spare time from your assets time building (modules and AI assets). Actually has a very quantity of old 3D models by rebuild, refit and redone from LOMAC, FC, K-50 and A-10C.

Also what will happen to the FC3 Mig 29A which we already have if the clickable version is planned?

FC-3 Mig-29A simplified version (in a future part of MAC) can "convive" with a full clickable module without problems. Has separate entities, as TF-51D and P-51D modules.

- RTX has planned to DCS engine - Do you mean ray-tracing?

Yes, ED has talking about RTX ray-tracing

From Polychop Discord. They work on add some FARP and mission objects.

Over the past year we've been working on objects, not only FARP objects, but also stuff that you'd find on gunnery ranges and in theater that add to the immersion. I won't be going in to this too much for now, but there will be the usual hesco's in different shapes, lengths, heights, with and without razor wire, guard towers, ammo objects specific to the KW, markings, signs, IED's, caches, you name it... Basically we have the SME's and when they tell a story, I think to myself... ok... to make this work in DCS we'd need this or that object. And whenever I find the time.. I make them.

We figured the best thing about it, and what makes it worth our time, is that when it is included in the core game, you're no longer depending on mods that much. Makes it easier for server owners as you can run missions with a great amount of cool objects without the need of a huge mod list.

With that I have to say that we also greatly appreciate the work done by the countless modders out there and we certainly don't plan on making all object mods obsolete by including our objects. We could not possibly create everything that is already out there.
