Falco77 Posted February 7, 2010 Posted February 7, 2010 Been busy lately, so haven't had much time to fly my Shark. Actually now that the news of the A-10A and later A-10C has come out, I find myself holding back from flying and enjoying watching the tracks included with the sim. This being the "Tracks, Mission & Campaigns" forum, I was hoping to find more tracks here. So, if you've got a favorite moment, or mission for that matter, post the track if you have it. Just looking for a little fun and relaxation :smilewink: Thanks.

Deployment_04 mission, the very first playing, nightmission, 1st person only, compatible with DCS BS 1.0.1: Actual the plan after reading the briefing was the following: (1) no lights during escape (2) get out of the combat-zone (here FARP) as soon as possible. So a manual alarm-start in 1:30 minutes (only basic switches) instead of an automatic alarm-start in 3:15 minutes + basic counter measurement setting (both sides active) + closed door. (3) we expected enemies in the woods around the FARP (in one location or in many locations ) and at the mountainsides along the river. We expected no enemies in open areas. The most fear was the expected RPGs from mountain-sides. So the planed escape-route has to stand off from mountain-sides and has to stand off from woods. => See what realy happened => http://rapidshare.com/files/351048167/Deployment_04a.rar.html (8MB, max 10 downloads, best download-time between 23:15 - 11:00 GMT) Edited February 17, 2010 by zdXu

Important for players with option "vulnerable = true". - Found something new i had not seen before in a mission. - Quality of radio-communication is well done. Negative - Starttime is always an emergency-start in 3 minutes, even when the helicopter have had a severe engine-failure before. - 3 of 5 missions have no flight-plans. - Fuelquantities not adequate. - Missionpreparation not adequate. If you are going to fly with a wingman, you are not in the lead and you have no flightplan then the mission should give you infos about the impending flight. For example planed wps, planed flightroute, planed flightaltitude and planed flightspeed for each wp, landingspots for emergency-situations, specific features along the route etc. etc. - Devotion to the army: applied to thick. Frederf Posted June 9, 2010 Posted June 9, 2010 (edited) Here's one from a GOW mission, second chapter. It's a three point "recon in force" with good results. I changed the difficulty options in the file to allow external views. TrackIR is used so if you don't touch the mouse you can follow my head motions. Does anyone know how to return view to the track's data after switching away? It's irritating that if you ever get off the view of the track you can't seem to get back on. zdXu Posted July 4, 2010 Posted July 4, 2010 (edited) ================================================================== Operation Night Hunt (i know the facts from the briefing and i accidently know that there were cars who are trying to escape from the primary target.) Plans Plan A: - Preemptive standoff strikes #1 and #2 against bridges to cut of some of their escape routes. Desired standoff distance more than 12km. Bad visiblities could hinder this. - If there is evidence of a car escape: # if escape-route to south, on street then ambushpoint #4. Using marked flight-route to have masking the flight through terrain. No civilian casulties. High risk, possible insurgents in the region round the ambushpoint. # if escape-route to east, on the road then best case scenario. The targets coming towards the helicopter position. Guns!?! # if escape-route off road then stay away unless they are heading east and towards our position. - Primary target (location #3): standoff weapons, no time pressure - If own FAC-position comes under attack and support is requested we will go in according the planed flight-route, come in from south-east, low-level flight and low speed. Buildings should mask the flight. Under actual visibilities and the ka-50 limitations very high risk. Plan B: There is one. But it would take too long. Plan C: The default flight route with following approach: 1.wait at wp4 for further orders 2.wait for illumination, vikhrs-stand-off attack against building 3.car-chase above enemy territory. Right knee-pad Left knee-pad - Flight ready time: 01:50am - Desired take-off time: 02:30am. Zenra Posted July 5, 2010 Posted July 5, 2010 @zdXu: Thanks for another entertaining and educational tracks. I really enjoyed both Operation 404 and Operation Night Hunt. I do have a question about PAR_KrasnodarPashkovsky.trk, though: When I play it I can only barely make out the cockpit, everything is so dark. I've tried to figure out how to use NVG but cannot seem to do so and also watch your track. CAn you shed some light on how I might be able to see what's going on? I travel a lot for work, and while I have BS on my laptop it is a pain lugging my Cougar setup all over the place and needless to say it' a bit impractical to set it all up in a commercial airline seat... Watching tracks is a great way to get some Black Shark in and it is instructive to see how others approach the missions. In Operation 404 I liked how you side slipped downhill and along the treetops to get into position while maintaining cover - some very nice flying that! @Frazier: It's been said elsewhere on these forums, but just let me pile on: I simply cannot believe the skill level you've achieved with the Shark - your demo video is absolutely amazing!
