ED marketing and promotion

Reading topics like this and similar questions I came to a realization that many ED's potential customers just don't keep up with the huge leap forward that became a reality after the release of LO FC Su-25 and DCS Black Shark. IMO ED should produce more showoff videos like these:

In better quality of course. This kind of short 'technology vids' can be produced by someone who may as well be totally useless for the core ED team or even beta testing so it's not like sacrificing working hours of some other projects and tasks. Even I would produce at least one of such a vid every three months given that someone would provide me with a track file or scenario/description.

However what you should IMHO really aim for is this marvel of a marketing video for a hardcore flight sim

Regarding my WIP vid. It will only have a pretty title page. The rest will feature no fancy video editing or effects. Just raw material cut into takes.

I don't care for fancy video editing or special effects in military videos. :) Can't wait to see what you will come up with.

Personally, I would love a 10-15 minutes video of Eagle Dynamics office environment. See the faces and what they do. There was a similiar vid made by another sim developer a while back where you're taken around cubicles and whatnot.

Don't forget to include the F15 and A10. Sometimes I feel like all the attention is given to the Russian aircraft in this game.

I know nothing about that. Besides, there's nothing to show off about anything except Advanced Flight Model (AFM) ACs: Su-25, Ka-50, A-10C (DCS W).

IMHO if ED wanted to make marketing movies they would do that ;)

@Leafer similar thing has been done by Valve. They have even released book about Half Life production with all ideas, private notes, designs, interviews ect. I luv Valve so such behaviour towarded into customer\client\fan of Half Life.

It'd be nice to see ED from that perspective :)

I did some work on the video today. The scanario is pretty much complete. Becuse it's straightforward... I'm currently supplementing it with scene thumbnails. Do you think the fact that I was moving the camera with my mouse is not too evident?

Note that videos I upload here are only previews of takes. Resolutions and in-game settings will be maxed-out in the final scenes. Takes will be cut and maybe even reordered.
