wolle Posted March 16, 2017 Posted March 16, 2017 After start-up in campaign mission 1 my compass (both magnetic standby and HSI) points in the wrong direction (off by almost 90 degrees). Anyone else notice that? Am I missing something in the startup (don't think so because the magnetic compass should need no external input, right?) :helpsmilie: [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] Intel Core I7 4820K @4.3 GHz, Asus P9X79 motherboard, 16 GB RAM @ 933 MHz, NVidia GTX 1070 with 8 GB VRAM, Windows 10 Pro
609_Relentov Posted March 16, 2017 Posted March 16, 2017 It depends. In your options, I think the special or misc tab, there is an option for the Mirage to require INS initialization or not. If you choose the option requiring initialization (it's a check box, going by memory here), then you would need to initialize INS or your compass will be off quite a bit. If you choose the option that does not require it, then when you start up it should then initialize on its own. In multiplayer servers, the server controls if INS requires initialization or not - but if it doesn't you'd still need to have that option set on your client properly or you'd still need to do it :).
baltic_dragon Posted March 16, 2017 Posted March 16, 2017 That is a known bug and has been reported. For some reason it only happens in January :) should be fixed soon hopefully! 609_Relentov Posted March 16, 2017 Posted March 16, 2017 Oh, never mind then - I didn't know this was related to the bug just mentioned, I was thinking just a generic issue if the OP didn't realize they had to initialize INS...

Lymark Posted March 27, 2017 Posted March 27, 2017 Is there any workaround at the moment, besides using Cv NA?

scotth6 Posted June 14, 2017 Posted June 14, 2017 Ha. Glad it wasn't just me. This just happened to me. Completed the mission anyway, but couldn't figure out why I was on a heading of about 210 degrees on final to Vaziani when it was supposed to be 309 degrees. i did a flyby of the runway to look for a number to confirm it was Vaziani :D , but I recognised it up close anyway. Cool mission!
baltic_dragon Posted June 14, 2017 Posted June 14, 2017 LOL :) well, I hope this gets fixed by ED. If not I will just change the date for M1 and 2 :D For more information, please visit my website. Joni Posted August 3, 2017 Posted August 3, 2017 Hi there! I saw that all missions are set in January. Should I change all to another month? Is that the solution? Ramsay Posted August 3, 2017 Posted August 3, 2017 The work-around for the DCS January magnetic declination bug is to set the HSI to Cv Nav (True bearings) or edit the mission date in the mission editor i.e. to February. You should be able to navigate to the campaign folder in the Mission Editor. "DCS World\Mods\aircraft\M-2000C\Missions\Campaigns" If you can't edit/save the default campaign files you might try copying them to "Saved Games\DCS\Missions\Campaigns\en\M-2000C Caucasus Campaign by BalticDragon" IIRC the first 7 missions are set in January. You would then find the edited "M-2000C Campaign" under "CAMPAIGN\My Campaigns". i9 9900K @4.8GHz, 64GB DDR4, RTX4070 12GB, 1+2TB NVMe, 6+4TB HD, 4+1TB SSD, Winwing Orion 2 F-15EX Throttle + F-16EX Stick, TPR Pedals, TIR5, Win 11 Pro x64, Odyssey G93SC 5120X1440
Joni Posted August 3, 2017 Posted August 3, 2017 If I copy them I still cant edit. And the workaround is not the cv nav as that only works for WPs. Ramsay Posted August 4, 2017 Posted August 4, 2017 If I copy them I still cant edit. Unfortunately I can't help, as I'm using Steam and have changed the month and tested adding a 2nd player slot to the campaign missions without issue. i9 9900K @4.8GHz, 64GB DDR4, RTX4070 12GB, 1+2TB NVMe, 6+4TB HD, 4+1TB SSD, Winwing Orion 2 F-15EX Throttle + F-16EX Stick, TPR Pedals, TIR5, Win 11 Pro x64, Odyssey G93SC 5120X1440
Gandalf_56 Posted August 4, 2017 Posted August 4, 2017 (edited) How strange!! I have changed and edited the campaign missions to add clients instead of players to fly it in MP. Only the firsts missions are set on January. From the 4th or 5th till the end are set in February. Edited August 4, 2017 by Gandalf_56 http://www.ecv56condor.com.ar ECV56 Condor - Discord Channel

sze5003 Posted August 13, 2017 Posted August 13, 2017 I am also stuck with the January bug on mission 02. Btw I am loving the campaign so far. When I get to the TACAN station and follow to 180 I end up over the ocean. Going in the mission editor I can not type anything in the month area. I can only change the year from 2009 to anything else. The dropdown for the month is also disabled. I can't enter another day either. I was on 1.5.7, latest but because of bugs I rolled back to 1.5.6. Not sure if this has anything to do with it. Joni Posted August 13, 2017 Posted August 13, 2017 yes, 1.5.6 doesnt have this bug fixed but 1.5.7 does. But 1.5.7 is unplayable. sze5003 Posted August 13, 2017 Posted August 13, 2017 I managed to edit the mission another way. Copy the mission from the campaigns folder to your desktop. Open dcs and go to mission editor. Then open the file you placed on the desktop. Edit the month from January to February and hit save in mission editor. Exit dcs and then copy the mission 02 file back to the campaign folder and overwrite. Now when you pull up the mission through the game campaign system it should show February instead of January. I will try to fly it now and see if I pass it this time. 1.5.7 seemed playable on my system but it was buggy with other missions. Joni Posted August 13, 2017 Posted August 13, 2017 Its unplayable for any system, just depends on luck and type of mission Intel Core i5-8600k + Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO | Gigabyte GTX 1070 Aorus 8G | 32GB DDR4 Corsair Vengance LPX Black 3200MHz | Gigabyte Z370 Aorus Gaming 3 | WD Black SN750 NVMe 500GB | Samsung 850 EVO 250GB | WD Green 240GB | WD Caviar Black 1TB SATA 3 | WD Caviar Blue 500GB SATA 3 | EVGA 650 GQ 80+ Gold | Samsung CF391 Curved 32" | Corsair 400C | Steelseries Arctis 5 --- Razer Kraken X Lite | Logitech G305 | Redragon Dyaus 2 K509 | Xbox 360 | Saitek X-52 Pro | Thrustmaster TWCS | TrackIR 5
sze5003 Posted August 13, 2017 Posted August 13, 2017 (edited) Noticed when changing mission two to February that it's not as dark outside. Maybe changing the time an hour or two back should make it like the mission was on default for January. Edit: This was my issue, changing to February helped me pass the mission. It's also good to note, turning toward 180 when the hsi needle moves, you should turn in the direction that the needle is pointing until you hit radial 18. I was doing it the other way by turning left to 18 because it was closer that way. Either way after I changed the month I no longer ended up over the ocean and after flying in that radial direction, I got the prompt to contact colt to continue, which I was not getting before.
