Hello - Are there any plans to add an option to use a helmet mounted display in the A10? I have just started using a TrackIR so all of a sudden this is of interest. I have poked around a bit and have not been able to find an answer to this question on the forums. Apparently this is something that is being rolled out real world:

You do realize this HMD system is for a fighter with quick flip capabilities, and not the poor slow Hog, right? Maybe Next could feature this feat.

AWAITING ED NEW DAMAGE MODEL IMPLEMENTATION FOR WW2 BIRDS

Fat T is above, thin T is below. Long T is faster, Short T is slower. Open triangle is AWACS, closed triangle is your own sensors. Double dash is friendly, Single dash is enemy. Circle is friendly. Strobe is jammer. Strobe to dash is under 35 km. HDD is 7 times range key. Radar to 160 km, IRST to 10 km. Stay low, but never slow.

It actually is being worked on for the A10. Raytheon was awarded a contract in 2010 for it.

One of the main functions for HMD systems is A/G targeting. Think looking at your target, and hitting TMS up to make the JHMCS your SPI and then slewing your TGP/Maverick etc to that location.

As well as displaying way points, DL targets, friendlies etc. etc.

But yes, JHMCS is a feature of the current avionics suites (and even then is only just being brought into service on the Hog). Remember DCS models suite 3.1, suite 7 is in use now in the real world. And there are a LOT of new things between the two.

It would be awesome to combine such tech. Sadly, we got a then-new suite. But she still rocks!

anyone of you tried the ka-50???

The HMS there is very simple, but effective. Look at that point, and press the button. The Shkval will center at this position. After that, you can refine the exact position using the MFD/Shkval-Screen...

This is something i am really missing in the A-10.

Do you actually know some juicy detail that could be public knowledge, in regards to suite 7 improvements and additions? I would really like to know what did our belowed airframe get for Christmas... :D
